I hope you’re ready for Soul Sacrifice — the demo will be available this afternoon on PSN!
Your first reaction to the demo might be, “Holy moly, this is a LOT of demo!” …And you’d be right! The entire first chapter of the full game is included, all of which is playable with up to three other friends via online or ad-hoc multiplayer. Inafune-san made it a special point for the demo to be quite substantial, as you can read in his comments below:
Soul Sacrifice is a long adventure, with dozens of hours of gameplay. The demo is not only a great way to sample the full experience, but also to let you get a head start on that adventure before the game releases. To that end — this part is important, pay attention! — the save data will carry over to the full game! Not only that, if you do carry over demo save data to the full game, you will receive an exclusive bonus item: “Spirits’ Heart”! It summons a powerful stone golem that will fight for you!
Trying the demo and carrying over your save data is the ONLY way to get “Spirits’ Heart,” so why not give it a shot if you’re already interested in the game?
The Soul Sacrifice demo offers a single player mode AND a multi-player mode. Multi-player can be played via both ad-hoc and online, but please be aware that multi-player and all online features for the demo will be terminated and will no longer be available on April 30th, 2013. After this date, you will still be able to play the demo offline and ad-hoc. Of course, that’s not a problem, since you’ll all be picking up the full game when it launches on April 30th, right? *wink*
Don’t forget to pre-order! Not only do you get three exclusive Magic Offerings and two exclusive costumes, but you’ll also get the Japanese voice-over audio pack for free!

Well that Nintendo Direct was amazing!! Good think I like both Sony and Nintendo. At least ONE company has it together today…. sigh

The only disappointment I have is not being able to purchase Dragon Fantasy Book yesterday, but I just watched Arrested Development instead.
People keep asking for free stuff as a compensation,but i just want the damn demo to come out,ASAP!

I must say it’s kind of funny to see this psn disaster to happen this week the day before nintendo had their “nintendo direct”, they are announcing a lot of stuff for the 3ds
I had to get in on this rage fest, Sony makes me so mad, I heard EU got the game already, that’s not even right, now we have less time to play before online is removed from the Demo!

Wow how pathetic is Sony? Never mind the fail of this store update. Why can’t you do anything right? How can you not update at a consistent time every week? Your competitors seem to have no problem… even NINTENDO! Your team in control of this stuff is complete fail and you need to hire new people. The lack of timely communication is awful to. You’d think after all this time the PS3 has been out you could finally get it right…. Seems like the same issues are going to carry over to the PS4 as well. Don’t even get me started on how fail the Vita has been. Great piece of hardware with almost nothing to show for it. Drop the system by at least $50 and for gods sake… drop the price of the damn memory cards! Then more people would buy and more developers would flock to it.

I had forgotten to check the store for an update last night. I get on the blog to see this. The comments on here are pure entertainment.
I don’t envy being on the Sony server team right now, I know what it is like to troubleshoot network issues that arise from updates and patches. It’s fun if you had all the time in the world and nobody impacted, sucks when people are irate.

So, speaking of the demo, how will we transfer data from it to the main game? And will it matter if we have physical or digital as far as the game goes?

Fell asleep woke up and still no update, this is all very disappointing. I’m a paying customer and its ridiculous to have to wait until 11:39 pm est time to hear an update from Sony declaring that their will be no update that day. All the while waiting and waiting for news that comes 23 hours into the supposed updates day. Thought they got there act together after the big hack but it looks like not much has changed…
