    • Is the MLB download for Vita, PS3 or both? I am assuming both.

    • No thanksss, im not LOYAL Enough for 10$ from you Sony.

Wow, seriously? So if you bought a new iPhone and all your apps broke you would be alright with that? Would you really be alright carry two phones around so you had access to software you already bought? Why is a console any different?

Can I use all my PSN content or disc based games on the PS4? No? well then the content is dead.

    • Hello i have a question MORGAN:if i already have 20 dollars in my wallet from previous months including the 10 dollars you gave me last week for free and i add another 40 in order to buy bioshock will i still get 10 dollars back?
      Thanks

    • Time to resubscribe to PS Plus. I would also get the 3 extra months right?

    • @djtripd,

Ok man, not even going to argue with you on that one That still is not a “fact” just because you are choosing to not keep two systems, that is a preference.

Nothing is being broken, If I liken it to buying another computer, I don’t just consider my older computer dead, I either sell it or keep using it. In no way am I being forced to sell it.

Just admit you are whining because you don’t want to have two systems, why make stuff up?

I’m very glad that Sony will not just cease production of content for the PS3 because even though I will still have a PS4, I’m sure I will still continue to buy stuff for my PS3 and keep using the stuff I bought from the store.

If Sony really dropped the ball no this for you, just sell your stuff and quit giving them a dime, put your money where your mouth is. I mean do you really want to keep giving your hard earned money to a company that apparently treats its customers like “crap”?

    • You guys are doing a great job with SEN/PSN… you’ve more or less reached Steam-status with me buying more games than I have time to play. That’s a good mark of success. ;)

    • Does the money spend register when we add funds or make a purchase? I got a $50 PSN card and added it to my wallet but didn’t spend it yet. Wondering if it will count or not when I buy stuff after the store updates.

    • @ Pierre Gravereau i dont own a ps3 only a vita… will i be getting the code via email or otherwise? can we get the message on vita too? or should i check via a ps3 and check an option to send email ?

I’m waiting to see what comes out the of the Xbox announcement. I’ve been with Sony since the PS1 and the fact that I’m looking elsewhere is a sad statement. I will vote with my wallet, thanks for asking.

Also, I doubt that you would be alright with two computer, two cellphones, etc just to make sure your software still worked so why is it any different for consoles?

    • surprised to see Atelier Ayesha day 1 digital. But is Naruto Ninja Storm 3 not going to be day 1? I was kinda hoping it would be.

I get that you don’t want to own two consoles – I can’t identify with that, but I get it. However, that’s a choice you’re making, not one you’re being forced into. The simple fact is that gaming consoles are not phones, and there’s no real reason that you can’t have more than one. I didn’t throw away my NES when I bought an SNES, and I didn’t trash my Genesis when I bought a Dreamcast (yes, I totally bypassed the Saturn). While backwards compatibility is cool, we’re not entitled to it.

It’s this simple: I like games, and I have a lot of them. There’s also no way that I’m going to get through my entire backlog before the PS4 comes out, and I’m sure a lot of people here are in the same boat. So, when that day comes, we all have a choice – we buy at launch and also keep our PS3s and continue enjoying those games, or we can wait and buy a PS4 later, or we can make a silly decision and get rid of our PS3s. If you’re only interested in choosing the latter, that’s your problem, not Sony’s – and if the lack of backwards compatibility is a dealbreaker, just don’t buy a PS4.

Which also begs the question: if you only ever want to own one console at a time, why bother buying at launch anyway?

    • While this is a good deal, I would caution people on purchasing Plus if we plan to abandon their PS3 after PS4 comes out. For all we know, PSplus will remain a PS3 service and PS4 will incorporate a new service with Gaikai. Since my PSplus subscription already runs into 2014, I wont be buying anymore until I know for certain how Sony wants to handle all this subscriptions in the future.

    • Hum… I wont be buying anything from the list at least not digital….since doesn’t make any sense to buy games that will take space of the HDD and will not come with a case…but I’ll be buying some DLC’s and PSN titles…I hope that all sums up to $50.

I believe that transactions where funds are removed from your wallet are the ones that will count, not when you add funds to the wallet. So purchasing BioShock will count, but adding funds to your wallet to cover it won’t – make sense?

    • @ djtripd,

But its not like a cell phone. I don’t take my console everywhere I go with me, it just sits there under my TV, Its been there since I bought it. I really doubt adding another console to my TV and assigning it its own HDMI slot will cause me that much of a hassle.

I could never go with an Xbox. You think Sony treats customers bad according to you? I’d rather have this than be forced to pay just to use features that should be free from the get go to use. Plus, tell me again how often does Microsoft give you money back for buying stuff from their store?

No thanks, I’ll perfectly content with this “crap” service.

    • I think it’s safe to assume that Sony won’t abandon the plus members when the PS4 launches … clearly the PS3 / Vita support won’t disappear … anytime soon. I will just trust that they will be continuing the program … as to the issue of not wanting 2 consoles – unlike phones, you don’t usually carry your home consoles around with you … so it’s not a valid comparison … the conference Sony held led me to believe “play everything everywhere” that at some point in the future, the PS4 will be able to stream the PS3 / PSN content … I don’t think it means the day after launch the PS3 / PSN stuff becomes inactive & unusable ….

    • @djtripd

I’ll join in on the fun. Sony is future proofing themselves and as a result, they have to deal with some growing pain they caused themselves. Sony picked the wrong processor architecture, so now they have to start over. In order to have true BC, they would need to keep the cell, which would be terrible in the long run. Gaikai is not perfect, but its a pretty nice situation if they make it fair an accessible (like netflix for games).

I didn’t buy at launch the last time, sold my PS2 to buy the PS3 just as Sony cut the backwards compatibility from their consoles to save a buck. Broke all my old games which left me a bit bitter. Then the rumors started that Sony would emulate PS2 titles on the PS3 which only happened in the last couple of years with a terrible selection. It been so long anyhow I just didn’t care anymore.

The Xbox 360 worked with a lot of original Xbox titles, the Wii U works with previous Wii titles so why does Sony always pass the buck on the Playstation community? With the PS4 announcement I’ve been burned twice if I don’t want to keep my PS3 what I don’t understand is why a lot of users are alright with this.

If all the other console makers can provided backward compatibility then Sony should be held to the same standard. In the case of the PS4 which is a different architecture the least Sony could do is discount PS3 software since there’s no migration path.

    • With this along with using Best Buy certificates to get PSN cards I’m going to save a bunch!

    • Hey Pierre, is Sony gonna be doing the spring game promotion this march like they have done the last 2 years?
      Thanks,

    • @107 i wouldn’t go that far comparing them to steam. One decent deal compared to months of awful sales doesn’t match Steam at all.

    • If I purchase 2things that cost 49.99 will it qualify me for $20 also when we get our money vouchers and put it in our wallet does it ever expire out of our wallet?

    • I just can’t justify spending that much money on PSN if it will become obsolete when PlayStation 4 comes out,

    • #118

I understand that Sony is starting over because of bad choices with the PS3 on the other hand why should the users pick up the costs? If Sony is going to switch architectures then current software should be discounted.

Also, if you don’t think that Sony is going to charge you to stream your classic games then your in for a shock. I’ve used OnLive and Gaikai before an because it’s almost impossible to get rid of latency of any kind over a home internet connection I don’t see control inputs working very well through this solution.

    • @119 …. while the Wii U does provide the ability to play Wii discs, I understand the interface is a bit challenging – so I kept the Wii to just have the console the Wii discs were intended for … the Wii U is for my new U games … anyway, I’m alright with Sonys decision b/c I honestly was thinking of getting a 2nd PS3 anyway, so instead I’ll hold out for the 4 – depending on price point of course, & keep the PS3 …. maybe you have space challenges, but many households have room for more than 1 console …. I don’t feel betrayed or let down in the least … I think by the looks of things, the new console looks pretty impressive …

    • I’m confused I have never even heard of the term SEN wallet, so I’m assuming it means Sony Entertainment Network. I bought a 50 dollar card at best buy 2 weeks ago to help me pay for all the skyrim dlc, still waiting to buy the last piece of dlc which gets released later today. (I also got a 10 dollar credit for being a loyal customer so i now have47.50 in my wallet) If i spend all that money pluse an extra 2.50 do i get the 10 dollar credit. I kind of need to know right now before i go to work because if i will get the credit i want to buy catherine before it isnt on sale anymore.

    • Considering that most items costs X.99, will 49.97 be enough?

    • #126

Space is a huge issue, I live in a downtown core apartment which is only 533sqft. I also have a limited number of HDMI ports on my TV, all of which are being used.

    • I JUST spent $109 on PSN on Thursday! I bought PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Journey, and Ni no Kuni. I should’ve waited a few days and I could have gotten $20 back. :(

    • @swavage415: As long as you reach the 50$ value or even pass it by buck. You should be good :)

    • Just spent $40 on a digital copy of Persona 4 Golden |: Would’ve waited a few days if I’d have known about this.

    • Why are people so eager to get rid of a $200+ machine. Just keep both the ps3 and ps4. Unlike the ps2, the ps3 can do more then just play games. I know that the majority of people want the console to be backwards compatible because they want to sell their ps3 as quickly as possible, but too bad so sad. We all know how well the fully backwards compatible system sold when it first launched; so much so that they even removed the function on current ps3s.

Maybe Sony should makes a limited edition PS4, making only 100000 units. Granting full backwards compatibility and compatibility for an extra $150 to $200 on top of the price of the ps4.

    • #119

Would you rather spend $600+ on a backwards-compatible console? How is that a different investment than just owning both? Besides, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before some modder comes up with a way to put both machines in one box.

Also, I’m sure PS3 software will get cheaper… AFTER the PS4 launches. There’s no point in doing it earlier while the games are still selling and there isn’t an alternative platform – that would just be a bad business decision.

    • How is this fair? I just purchased 1year of plus on 2/22/13 and now I’m not eligible for the $10. Maybe I should have just waited!?

    • If i spend $149.97 will i get $30.00 back? Or 3 cents doesn’t make the cut? Thx!!

    • I’ve owned 6 PS3s. Though more reliable than a 360… PS3s still give up after awhile… I’ve poured a few thousand dollars into PSN figuring the content would be compatible on future PlayStation systems… I think I am done with digital. Your PS3s won’t work forever. One day you’ll lose your stuff.

    • Just checking but if I spend $50 this week then $50 next week or a few days later, I’ll still be getting $20 right?

    • #135

How is it not fair? Promotions and discounts are intended to create new sales, not refund for old ones. Do you yell at the grocery store when toilet paper goes on sale after you already bought some last week?

    • With that said, I’m ready to move on. Bring on the PS4. Can’t deny the excitement. PS Reboot

    • Tomb Raider on PSN or no deal! Lol

    • @ But_honestly,

Kind of dumb people act as it its unfair. I just bought a year of PS+ on Sunday and I’m not upset over this. Stuff happens.

Not a matter of it being fair/unfair. Just a sale.

There’s always going to be someone who buys something just before a sale is announced, just the way it is.

    • Dear lord what’s up with the dumb comments about the ps4, it is not like your ps3 will dissappear or self destroy after the ps4 is released.

    • Screw you guys. I renew my Plus membership one day early, and I can’t be included in the deal.

    • Unless the PSN can make these pre-order games available to download at midnight, I’ll just keep buying them in brick and mortar stores. Due to the late nature of the store updates, you basically lose the entire release day to play anything.

    • sweet, will be taking advantage of this for sure

    • For those complaining that you did so-and-so yesterday, stop buying stuff until the day the store updates so you know what deals are available. It’s not Sony’s fault you are bad shoppers.

    • @Josh-Shiki,

Tell me about it. They are acting as if it will quit working the second the PS4 comes out, or so they would have you believe. At least its just a few bad apples whining about it.

    • @129 … HDMI inputs are an issue for sure – I’m looking to buy a switcher – which will increase the number of inputs to the tv … well, sounds like physical space is a concern for you – I have 3000 sq. feet, so clearly our situations are different … maybe an entertainment unit with more shelves ? I couldn’t imagine going with MS for the next gen. between the online costs, & the marked lack of exclusives, I’ll stick with Sony – besides, sounds like they’re coming up with some interesting things for the Vita / PS4 interface …

    • @57
I don’t believe we’re customers “loyal” enough to get this strange voucher, I’m a PS3 owner since 2009 and have more than 200 games bought from PSN and got no voucher.

      @59
Totally agree with you, I saw friends that spend maximum 10-20 bucks a year on PSN receiving the voucher and I’m as a PS+ day 1 customer and regular buyer got nothing.
