I have had a US PS+ account for a while now and am fairly satisfied with it, but it IS hard to look at the EU ps+ without some jealousy. I just got a free month of ps+ EU and got sleeping dogs, limbo, and f1 race stars; now next month, I get ME3, MGSHD, DOA5, Puddle, and Joe Danger? I’ve already renewed my EU plus service, but not sure I’m going to renew my US plus now!
How about throwing us one of the bones you’ve been giving to EU? Also, where is my $10 credit? I’ve been buying stuff from the store left and right b/c I am sick of waiting for Sony to give us PS+ gamers something worth while. A guy I know has had his subscription for a month while I’ve had mine since August (year subscriber). He also hasn’t spent a dime, yet gets free credit? SMH. Come on Sony, what gives?
@Morgan,
Is it safe to say PS+ isn’t going anywhere when PS4 comes out? I wanted to extend mine (even with December expiration, but I (and others) would like certainty before this.
@503 I’ve seen Morgan answer that question several times. He assured that PS+ is here to stay. Though no information how it will tie into PS4 itself.
please dead or alive 5 and mass effect 3 for plus please
I downloaded Vanquish yesterday. It’s one of the games I wasn’t willing to pay 30 bucks for because I didn’t know if it would pay off, but now I’m really glad we got it. Even if you’re not the greatest shooter fan, it’s a really fun experience.
The Problem
First, how big is vanquish? The download says 12 GB. My system settings say I have 21 GB left but when I go to download Vanquish it says I do not have enough space available for it.
——————————————————–
I keep getting an error saying “there is not enough free space in your system storage” whenever I attempt to download Vanquish. Since Vanquish is 11.6 GB and I have 21 GB something is wrong, either with what it actually says the game takes up or what it actually downloads. Since this game is SUPPOSEDLY A BIG DEAL I was hoping to try it but since my original post got lost on blind eyes and apparently is not a big deal with SONY, and the other issues I have had with the PS plus membership, I should just get rid of the membership when it expires in March or April.
Morgan, or whoever reads this from SONY, if you think I am calling you out, I am. If I call the 800 number, I get nice people who are clueless to what is going on. If I post on here, I see too much sarcasm from other posters, and usually a lackadaisical attitude from SONY. All I want is to be able to fully enjoy my plus membership. I can’t seem to do that though.
Why is Mega Man not free for me? It’s 9,99, no free offer. Is the offer already over?
@507 I’ve noticed that you need roughly twice the space of the download free on your HDD to get the games. I imagine this is due to needing room for the initial install download as well as space for the game to install to. once the install is done the first file is deleted and only the game remains. So, in the case of Vanquish, 11.6GB X 2 = 23.2GB approx required space needed to download and install the game.
Honestly though, while I agree that it must be annoying not knowing why it wasn’t working for you, and that it should explain this on PSN, this is a rather easy thing to google and find out, so I’m not sure why you are “Calling them out” without looking into the issue yourself first.
@509
What you said in the first paragraph would be plausible IF on my second PS3, the one my wife uses,ever had this issue and she is down to 2.5 GB of space left. She has downloaded games practically down to 1GB left. However she has never had this issue.
It is annoying especially when you call the 800 number to be bounced around to 3-4 different live people and no one knows the answer to the questions you have. I “called them out” because since they had the billing issue with the store back in August/September, I have had nothing but problems with the store and my plus account. I have called customer service over all the other problems, and I just do not want to be subjected to being bounced around again to not be given a reasonable answer.
I posted an edited version of the original post at post 507 because the other half of the original post bothered me but I am ok with the other half of the original post. Also posted a second time because I believed the first post was essentially “lost”.
@510
You do need double the space for majority of games (if not all). Say the game is 8GB, you need 16gb free — 8GB to download the file which then self-extracts during the install to the HD.. They have said this several times over on the EU blog.
Perhaps some of the smaller games don’t need to be unpacked in this way? Just a thought…
@511
Doubling the space doesn’t make sense, especially since the download process only says download and install, the processes are not broken down beyond that. Also, since I like in the USA, I really have no reason to use the EU blog.
Thanks for the help though.
we better have mass effect 3 and DOA 5 in the US store next moth
please dead or alive 5 for ps plus
Hey, morgan. The dust starter packs doesn’t show as free, it still says 9,99. What about that? I was planing to start playing dust after I got that pack, now I’m like “whatever, I didn’t want to play that game anyway”
Can somebody fix that? Thanks
Oooh!!!! Come On!!!! This sh”·$” games doesn’t compare to the ones from Ps Europe, what’s happening here????
