God of War: Ascension Multiplayer Beta (PS3)

PlayStation Plus members get to be one of the first to delve in to what’s sure to be one of the most epic multiplayer experiences of the year. God of War: Ascension’s Multiplayer beta is offering up the signature Team Favor of the Gods mode and the yet-to-be-seen Favor of the Gods mode. In both modes, you’ll fight to reach the requisite number of favor points from the Gods, earning points via kills, bonus brutal kills, opening chests, capturing domination points and, if you’re skillful enough, performing executions using the Spear of Olympus. Mega Man should give me some solid game time, I used to play the old ones. Finished up Anomaly and played Journey a second time. Had to put a bigger HDD in the PS3 during the holidays with all this PS+ stuff, Sony did a great job with backup + restore.
Wow, so much self-entitlement on this thread. It’s possible that a $4-5 per month service isn’t going to crank out $20-$50 games each month for you to download at no additional price.
Garbage update. I wish they would stop giving us EA Garbage though this is better then there last few. Give us Motor Storm Apocalypse, Kingdom of Amular, Tales Of Graces F or Spec Ops The Line.
Hopefully people will read this before posting stupid comments comparing US to EU. The US does weekly updates. EU does monthly updates. We will be getting more content later. And in my opinion it will be hard for EU to beat US this month. The only thing on their list of games that I would want to play is Bioshock 2 and we already got that. This is yet another bad week for us but hold off on the comparisons for a couple of weeks.
The GOW beta is good. It’s just hard to begin with when you don’t have anything unlocked. I enjoy it because is a different kind of MP other than camp, shoot, repeat or blindfire madness. I will enjoy it more when it is released and there are more options though.It’s kinda limited in the beta now but they have added more stuff in updates since it started. The only bad thing about it is the lack of a party system on it. In team matches I’m constantly thrown into groups with mouth breathers almost every match. I hope they test the party system on the beta before release because there is almost always problems on games with it when it’s first out.
I had some good stuff to say but apparently “My comment was too long”. What the hell does that mean?! This is a blog, made for comments. Fix this or at least put a counter on the comment section so you know how many letters you have left.
I’ll get the GoW beta, but I’d much rather play the single player demo. But there’s no way I’m wasting my money on the Total Recall Blu-ray just for that.
I hate to agree with the haters, but the quality of these PS+ updates has seriously dropped. Here’s what would make me happy:
1. Release day discounts & freebies
I’ve been buying games on day-one and then getting buyer’s remorse when that game is free or discounted a few months later. We are hardcore gamers, supporting the developers with day-one purchases. Give us a day-one break once in a while.
2. More free disc-based PS3 games
I’d love to migrate my PS3 discs to the digital versions but I’m not paying for something I already own. Let’s add more full games to the IGC like God of War, GTA, Max Payne, MGS, Red Dead, and Uncharted. Or maybe let PS+ members send their discs to Sony and trade them in for digital codes.
3. Let us vote
Please let us vote on what games will be free or discounted. Give us a varied selection of 30 or so titles to choose from. The top couple of titles would be free, and the runners-up would be heavily discounted. Then we wouldn’t blame you guys for the crappy games (unless there were no good choices at all).

Weekly updates suck. I literally just bought the Mega Man 9 & 10 bundle yesterday. If there were a monthly update in the beginning of January, this wouldn’t have happened. Customer service is issuing me a refund, thankfully, but the blog should consider going back to the monthly updates.

Why is Plus $50 a year? Seems like you would sell a lot of more PS3 if you gave away Plus.

You guys better not be telling me that this combo pack business for Mega Man is the same as the Sonic combo pack a couple of months ago. I didn’t get that one because I was told by Sony customer service that the only way I could was to use a one-time courtesy to remove the Sonic 2 purchase from my account in order to get my copy of Sonic 1. I’m glad I didn’t because it looks like I’m going to be stuck with the same problem here.
You guys need to fix this little policy/store problem you have if you’re going to keep offering these combo packs to Plus members. That’s two Plus offers I’ve been screwed out of.

Actually, I loved megaman back than. another waste of an plus update? The beta. EHHHHHHHH. not a big fan of GoW. had it on my psp when I had one. it was cool. But I thought since EU received all the games we have, plus exclusives and now the games we got the end of last year, thought maybe at least a retail mirror might make it through this week. Sigh. I’ll give megaman a try and see how I like it now. Had fun with pac-man might as well.
I’m appalled that people are actually DISAPPOINTED about getting MM9+10 for free. So what if you already purchased them? At least now people that never wanted to try get the chance to. Fabulous games, great update! Can’t be a AAA game all the time! But I am anxiously waiting for the first Uncharted, I’m waiting to start the trilogy because I just KNOW that it’ll get put on PS+ eventually…
I have to say I love PS+ but not all instant game collections are for me. I would rather see more discounts on games. I enjoying buying games but usually wait for the price to come down since I have a mortgage and mouths to feed. Few good examples are Twisted Metal, LBP Karting & PS Allstars Battle Royale. Even PSP games would be great. Just my opinion thanks.
No poll option? i’m not a fan of Megaman (outside of Legends) but its a step up from the lousy games from the past few weeks. Though i wonder if we’ll get a retail game anytime soon. These cheap 8bit type games don’t look like they cost Sony more than $5 to license for Plus.
I’m not the biggest GoW fan. I’m glad the beta didn’t replace the free games like i originally thought it would.
I hate that the only time I comment is to whine about the support Vita is getting from the Plus feature. It initially seemed to be a great move to address poor sales. Word of mouth is how millions are sold. Generating buzz with existing owners would bring more into the base than ads during the Super Bowl. It’s plain the intelligent people at Sony know this, so why let the opportunity wither? It may be that I’m a little greedy, yes. Finally, Gravity Rush is fantastic after you get past the motion sickness.
This really is a good way to start the year for the plus subscription for the vita only users. NOT.
Why can’t vita users get Atleast a PS Mini game or a PSP game every week while PS3 Always gets something new? Don’t you want to support your new console? does sony disregard vita because its not as hot as the ps3. every week I am waiting for PlayStation Plus Update, starting from week one of the PS Vita Plus, ends up disappointed. hope things improve for the Vita side of the plus.
The poll was encouraging. Seems like most of the community wants to see the same types of games, and I hope some of the games listed as examples can become a reality for PS Plus

Stop with the BS no more 8 bit games nor16 bit games. There are plenty of games that are full releases that you can give to us instead of this crap.
