Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack (PS Vita)

Free for Plus Members

One of the most unique and hilarious PS Vita titles also happens to be one of the best. A side-scrolling puzzle-platformer about an ornery mutant blob that, after being held captive in a lab that can only be described as something out of a retro sci-fi movie from the early ’50’s, escapes into the world and sets out on a path to consume everything. Use touch and the motion sensor functions combined with traditional analog stick controls to defeat the pathetic humans. Eat your way to freedom. It’s that fun.

Tag, grind, and trick to the beat in SEGA’s hit game Jet Set Radio on PS Vita. Free for PS Plus members the same day it releases; fight for control of Tokyo-to, mark your turf with graffiti, tag walls, billboards, and even rival gang members! Perform tricks and flips on magnetically driven in-line skates, but watch out for the local police force. They’re not nice.

  • Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, WipEout 2048, Jet Set Radio Vita, Final Fantasy Tactics!!!

all FREE on PS Plus :)

  • Music Unlimited WOW! I already pay for this monthly. Such a great deal.

  • Hi! I was wondering.. for the Music Unlimited PS Plus offer can I buy the 1 year using my PSN wallet with pre-paid cards or do I have to use a credit card (which I don’t have) to buy it?

  • Also, Morgan… I appreciate you being so vocal on your blog posts back to the PS community, KEEP IT UP. kudos

  • All in all, very happy with the work that the PS Plus team has done and I wouldn’t have imagined that PS Plus for PS Vita content would’ve been so great as I was expecting PSP and PS1 games. Keep up the great work, PS Plus has come a long way since Day 1, hopefully it gets some marketing power behind it.

  • Games i would love to see added to the Instant Game Collection
    Saints Row The 3rd
    GTA IV
    Dragons Lair 1&2
    Psychonauts
    Stacking
    Fat Princess

  • So glad I was loyal to Sony and bought the Vita at launch and pre-ordered Uncharted, Wipeout and Gravity Rush. Really paid off for me. $120 down the drain. Maybe I should just be like a lot of the other plus subscribers and not buy games and just cry for free games on plus.

  • Finaly! Alread own uncharted BUT thats one great selection of games, alread own dungeon defenders on PC but ill give it a try on ps3.

Btw we’ll get more psp games support for vita? Like Phantasy Star Portable 2 and Peace Walker (already own it for psp, umd, and for ps3, mgs hd coooection, BUT, ill buy it one more time if it come to vita)

  • Good Vita selection to start of Plus on Vita. Hopefully it’s not going to be like PS3 Plus where the first update was the only really good one since the IGC came out.

Ps3 Plus. Good on you for including a game like Dungeon Defenders instead of yet another shooter, horror or sidescrolling game. Gotta give you credit for that even if it is another older PSN game instead of the newer and/or PS3 games the EU gets.

But re-offering games that were already for free with Plus before? That’s pretty weak, and something that has been happening with regularity… Many of the games on sale have already been on sale before as well…

I won’t complain about the continued lack of good discounts on games and add-ons this week, since there’s an unknown sale tomorrow that may well contain such discounts.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s update more than I have in a while (at least when it comes to Plus), it’s a shame the store is so annoying to navigate with the new layout, any word on the constant requests to allow us to go back to the old format as an option for the store?

  • Please! Support multiple accounts for psvita! Gamers outside America and Europe do need this! We can play PS3 games downloaded from SCEA PS Shop with our Asian accounts, which is something we can’t do on psvita. I can’t figure out the reason behind this.

  • There is a patch 1.01 for the store, what about it? i dont found any new features.

  • isn’t that like the 3rd time sonic 1 and 2 have been given away?

  • dungeon defenders in an incredible coop game. played the pc version for 150+ hours. still furious at trendy for canceling the vita port. would of been amazing.

  • WHAT!!!?????? O_O
NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY!!!!!
IS this 4 REAL!!!!!!?????????? NO WAY!!!! O_O
So now the question is… Will there ever be a bigger cheaper Memory Card?? :P

  • I will say this..
as an early adopter of the vita, it’s a little discouraging when the free games collection is made up primarily of games I’ve already purchased.. but that said, I also very much respect Sony adding some of the very best Vita games to the collection to get people excited about the console… and there are not many games better than Gravity Rush, Uncharted:GA, and wipeout.. so kudos and respect.
so here’s my question.. how do you support early adopters as well?
or is it simply better to avoid early adoption?
that said, I really appreciate you adding jet set radio and even FF Tactics (not that I play that type of game) to the list.. so that there is something exciting for me as an early vita adopter AND ps+ member.. maybe more new games added to the collection? i don’t know, but i appreciate and respect this first attempt. Sony is still, easily, the console of choice for me..

so now.. please get a high quality online multiplayer (something at the level of UC3’s mp?) onto the vita..
    thank you!

  • huuu I already own majority of the games that are free with the PS Plus on the Vita… Anyways! Thank you!!! :D Excited for more in the coming months! :D

  • Wao, plus para el VITA. jugaré bastante, pero afectaran mis notas :( Never stop playing!!

  • I would love Gta vice city stories for plus on vita

  • Hi Morgan,

    Big question!

If i get uncharted gold abyss with plus, and you guy put it in discount later…can i still buy it?

I like to keep the games i want.

    Thank!

  • Not everybody was a Plus member the last time the Sonics were given away. That’s why you see repeats of giveaways. They’re offering the newer members some of the same deals that the long-time customers have also received. It’s not that hard to figure out. And it’s OK. It’s not hurting you. There’s still plenty of other deals for you guys.

remanutd5: “why isnt Sorcery free on playstation plus?”

Because not everything can be free.

  • Excellent! This is why I have been a plus member over the years! Keep ’em coming!

  • Hey Morgan,

Not sure if you’re still around reading and replying, but what the hay, I’ll leave a post just in case.

Great PS+ Vita content, can’t wait for tonight’s firmware update, and the store update tomorrow. Thanx for taking the time to reply to 35+ posts. You must pull your hair out over the redundant posts. It drives me nuts, and I’m just reading them. If people would simply read/watch the posts and your replies *shakes head*

I was going to suggest you make a post about Music Unlimited. I don’t have a subscription, but at $12 I am certainly willing to take a look. The downside, I don’t remember much about what the service is. I recall reading about it here on the blog, I wanna say 2 years ago, but I don’t really remember. A quick search here on the blog gives me results back to Sept. ’11, but not a breakdown of what the service is. A simple repost of that original post could prove fruitful.

    My $0.02

  • After a disappointed Vita start, and still more disappointed game releases, I got to say, I’m pretty impressed. at least I got something to do until the games producers stop messing around with he Vita.

  • I’m actually pretty excited for Music Unlimited. I’ve been sitting on the fence about it for so long, that it’s going to take a crane to get the fence post out of my backside.

  • hey morgan did u guys know that people are downloading ps allstars right now in EU? its kind of upsetting cause i really wanna play..could u guys give us early access too?

  • @MORGAN

Please answer question #210 asked by noob365

how do you support early adopters as well? or is it simply better to avoid early adoption?

I’m starting to think it’s better to wait and see if I can get it on Plus for free instead of being loyal to Sony and supporting you guys by spending my money. It just seems like you only care about new subscribers and not the people who have been loyal. As someone who bought the PS1 at launch I am seriously starting to question the direction of this company. It is very easy to see how Sony went from number one last generation to third this generation.

  • So I just got the pre-order version of PSASBR so would I get the Vita version with it or I might have to Buy it just curious and Morgan though the game ain’t out As dlc Sora maybe even vicent valentine from dirge of cerberus or any of the characters from there be nice.

  • Hi Morgan!

I have a question: Is the service of Music Unlimited exclusive for the US?
I’ve been trying to get it from a couple of months ago but I can’t, I’m in Mexico, and I really want this service.
Can you help me with this?

    Thanks!

  • Hi. with all respect you sony guys deserve, I want to know why are you giving us a discount on sonic and virtuas figther when we got them a few months ago? thank you

  • I Was waiting for this, really love you playstation, how good xbox live is now?

  • vanilla street fighter 4 would be great in instant game collection too

  • Teach yourself to be patient and you won’t be sitting in that boat.

I learned a long time ago not to buy a console on release, I got the 3DS with a 40$ game for 150$, and the crystal white vita + ACL for 200$, now getting over 120$+ saving by getting 3 games I really wanted to play. Patience is great if your wallet and feelings hurt in these scenarios. Now just be patient some more and you’ll eventually benefit of many more games to come on PS+.

This is the first month of PS+ for the Vita and it is a great way to market it, certainly the buzz wouldn’t be that good if they picked games that didn’t sell that much (less popular or whatever) just for early adopters and risk such a wonderful start for the Vita+.

Don’t ask Sony to tone it down for your own benefit, that’s as unreasonable as you feel for yourself. I’m pretty sure thousands of other folks still don’t own these good games yet.

At last… 2 of my friends were early adopters as well and both don’t own these games… I guess it’s tough luck for you, and hope for the best when they begin switching games.

  • Good stuff guys, really starting to appreciate playstation plus, keep up the good updates =p

  • any chance any assasin’s creed or DBZ Budokai games appearing in the instant game collection anytime soon?

  • @206, viva cola, if you can’t figure out a reason you’re either very innocent or not thinking very hard. Sony had always been a very protectionist company, long before they invented Playstation. Handheld consoles are very easy to hand around to your friends so instead of buying their own Vita and own games, they could add their account to your Vita & then play your digital games & earn trophies if Sony allowed us to have multiple accounts. Exact same reason why they cut the number of authorized PS3’s down to 2 from 5. To limit cheaters. You know honest people get punished due to the actions of cheaters.

Yes I know you can still do that with the retail card games. Why do you think they’re pushing digital so hard?

  • Hey Morgan how long will the music unlimited deal will be available for? Till next tuesday? or is it a one day thing only?

  • I have a question sony how come that game with the remote control cars was free but now u have to pay for it and when is the psvita firmware update coming out should have been a midnight release like 1.80 firmware

  • Hell Yeah Bundle (Full game + 2 DLCs) $14.99 $10.49

Okay, now I feel jipped. Not as hard as I would have been had I bought One Piece at launch, but still, those pricey DLCs WITH the full game for LESS than your Plus discount price for the game by itself? *sigh* Well, I’ll keep on holding off on those add-ons. Finishing all those challenges caused too much undue stress for me to grab any more of ’em.

Might look into NiGHTS into Dreams, though, and would have gotten Sonic Adventure at that price if not for having had it for some time already. But, why doesn’t Sonic Adventure 2 come with its DLC?

  • Damn these Tuesday updates across the board….. games, music, anything why do a midnight launch just drop the gods already damn. Monday is just a dull ass day and its better to just fill that day with goodness…Whoever wrote or came up with that idea in the beginning needs to be shot in the toe… I hope they get constipation tonight lol! then bubble guts for 2 days afterwards lol.

  • Question regarding the PS+ full Vita games. How long do these remain available in the store for Plus members?
The reason I ask is, I may get a Plus subscription for Christmas and I would like to know if at that time, I will be able to go online and grab the Gravity Rush and Uncharted Vita titles with my shiny new plus membership.

It would be a bummer if come Christmas, I logged on and these 2 titles were no longer available with the subscription. Thanks for any clarification!

  • One last thing im a true sony fan ive had every playstation in every size until i lost em in a house fire why is it that for plus u say we get games free but there not if u lose the service no more game id rather buy the game at a discount that way i know i will still have it to play i had to get a new vita cus i play games so much even tho i dont have the stats to prove it i never cared bout a thropy just love the thrill of the game Itself thats true gaming to me

  • morgan please don’t let sony gimp plus do to the vita.

  • Will this be available until after christmas? I am getting a vita and ps+ for my son for christmas and I really hope I don’t have to give them to him early so he can get these free games. :p

  • @236 PigChampion – If these PS Plus update posts don’t include it, then the Store update posts will note which content will be dropped from Plus after that week. So, just keep on eye on the Plus section of the Store updates!

Man, wish we had that same sort of notice for regular sales, as well as the price difference (similar to how Plus discounts display in the Store).

  • Been a PSN + member since day 1 and sure have gotten my moneys worth.

But…..this PS Vita Plus deal is amazing !

Also have Premium Music Unlimited and love the service.

Thanks Morgan for answering that we should be able as users of the Music Unlimited service to get the deal.

I know when I first joined Music Unlimited, it wouldn’t take money from my wallet…I had to enter a credit card and after that, it took money from my wallet instead. (hopefully, this has all changed and a credit card won’t be required for initial purchase).

Keep up the great work !

  • This is why Playstation Plus is worth it and every PS owners should get it but I cant wait to finally play the full game of Gravity Rush.. liked the demo but never got the chance to purchase it. Great Update Sony!!

  • Why not make Jet Set Radio a cross-play/buy

  • This is all awesome, but I’ve been waiting for Hulu app, it’s been promised for Fall this year, and it’s almost winter…

  • @Morgan Haro why do you almost never reply to the people that post negative responses to the PS+ updates . Our opinions matter to just as much as those who post positive responses .
