LittleBigPlanet Karting Out Today, Watch the Launch Trailer

Sack it to Me: LittleBigPlanet Karting

You heard correctly:LittleBigPlanet Karting is finally launching today! All of us at United Front Games and Sony San Diego Studio have been hard at work on this game for nearly two years, so we’re very excited to finally see our fans get their hands on Sackboy’s new karting adventure.

In LittleBigPlanet Karting, visitors known as the Hoard have arrived from far, far away on speedy go-karts and seek to steal Craftworld’s most precious prizes. Now it’s up to you to hop in a kart, beat back these otherworldly invaders, and reclaim Craftworld once and for all! Before you take the wheel, though, we have some launch goodies to share with you.

In celebration of LittleBigPlanet Karting’s launch, we have a brand new trailer we’re ready to show off. From a new single player journey, to racing and battling online in the multiplayer mode, to creating and customizing your own levels with an expanded set of unique creation tools, it’s clear that LittleBigPlanet Karting offers players a virtually endless set of gameplay possibilities. Not to mention, for the first time ever in LittleBigPlanet’s history, Craftworld is now expertly re-created in a stunning 3D world. Don’t take our word for it though; check out the trailer to see for yourself.

No LittleBigPlanet game is complete without a rare week-one shirt, and LittleBigPlanet Karting is no different! This time around, we’ve opted for a design that celebrates LittleBigPlanet Karting’s Canadian heritage, designed by Karting’s Canadian based developer United Front Games.

  • Update the PSN!!!! I want my vikings game now!

  • I think where Greg went wrong for the IGN review is he either wanting a pure karting experience or a pure LBP experience …. IMO he failed to see this as a hybrid of the 2, creating an entirely new IP in & of itself … I’m now onto world 3, having collecting almost 50% of the goodies, & the various challenges, formats make this pretty fresh & interesting …. I’m glad one has to focus on collecting as well as winning races … & it has so much in the way of customization …. I haven’t even gone to my moon yet to check out the level editor, but if what is already available to me for karts & costumes is any indication, this is going to be fantastic. Greg (imo) blew the review altogether … there is fun & magic to be had in LBP K …. I would entirely discount his review …. he doesn’t even mention the engine or horn sound options for your karts ….

  • R.I.P. PTOM well looks like game informer is #1 now. Gonna miss ptom though.

  • What a terrible waste on a well-known IP. This should’ve had more time and polish put into it, to make sure it was a great game in the end..

  • I hope this game does well, I’m kinda low on money but I bought every LBP title except for this one. There are just too many games coming out!

  • Hey, I had a few questions I can’t find answers to elsewhere before I buy this game: (Really excited for it, just worried about a few things)

1.) Is the track maker any better? ModNation would force you to lay out the entire track before you could build things around it; I’d rather work a little bit at a time, and preferably not have to drive to lay track down. Is it possible to do either of these things now?

2.) Player Customization was atrocious in the beta. Is this fixed now? Sticker application was just hideous, and the camera was a bit far off.

3.) Can you customize yourself on your Moon like in LBP2? Making custom stickers was pretty important in LBP2, and you can’t do that in your pod….

4.) More importantly, how do Imported LBP2 custom costumes carry over? Are all the stickers/decorations in-tact, or do they turn into a hideous mess of misapplied stickers?

5.) Last, can you choose what costumes the AI opponents are wearing in your custom levels?

    Many thanks for your time~

  • The gaming community can be so fickle at times, to try and compare Mario kart & MNR to LBP karting is ridiculous. Neither 1 of those games even compares there on a small scale compared to what you can do with LBP karting really really.

  • Instead of LBP Karting with just LBP characters it should be a PlayStation All Stars Karting with all PlayStation characters. That’s what should be and would be perfect.

Also, online pass no purchase, ModNation Racers all the way.

  • I love Littlebigplanet 2 since I got it last year, I never played the first one since I got a ps3 very recently but I aboslutely adore the game, I play it every weekend religiously :p, and also got in the beta, which BTW was incredibly fun and make me want the game, but sadly I won’t get it until the end of the month :(, damned debts and I’m still puzzled on why some people here and IGN apparently dislike the game, hope it does great, you already have one more purchase :).

  • Sony lied…earlier this year 3dtv support was said to be featured in this game so i pop in the game expecting some 3d lbp and what do you know; NO 3D!
Patch it with 3d or continue to lose support for false advertisement that already barely exists as it is…advertisement that is.;-)

  • Well, this is a frist!!! This game actually seems to think that my Blu-Ray Remote Control is a second player!!! I’ve had my Remote Control since 2007, and have played many games, but this is the first time I have ever had a game think that my Remote Control is a second player…

  • Canada is fine and all, but man… that is a really weak Week 1 shirt. All sporty and centered on a single country.

The plurality of previous Week 1 shirts was great.

Really regretting missing out on that digital heart shirt that preceeded this one. That was a good shirt. Sure beats trees.

  • I just got lbp karting preorder edition yesterday at eb games and i didn’t get any of the preorder bonuses. btw im in canada. HELP!

  • @63 …. I’m also from Canada & picked up my preorder yesterday from EB – Canadas version of Gamestop … did you request your 12 digit redemption code ? my sales clerk had no idea about the DLC but once I mentioned it, another sales associate told her to print it off from their email …. the code included 7 individual DLs – 2 being the Vita costumes …. the headstart pack was also there. if you did not receive the code at time of pick up, if you kept your receipt for the preorder, I would just go back to the store & explain the situation …. I’m sure you’ll get your code …. it included a United Front costume that is very cool . happy karting ….

  • when will we get our LBP costumes imported into LBP:K???

  • Will there be a DLC for the Hoard costumes? They’er awesome and several people love them, how come they weren’t included as costumes? Also it would be fair to make it free because several players were expecting them as costumes.
