This weekend was a productive one for me, at least when it came to catching up on my gaming backlog. Breezing through XCOM: Enemy Unknown last week cleared my plate to tackle PSN indie innovator The Unfinished Swan, along with a few games of social puzzler Treasure Park and minigame compilation Frosbisher Says! for PS Vita — both are a blast, I’m happy to confirm. Better yet: both are free! I also got a few races in for Need for Speed Most Wanted on PS Vita, and it’s quite a capable (and visually stunning) portable racer. I’m also busy reading up on assorted San Francisco propositions in preparation for Tuesday’s presidential election. You will be voting, won’t you?
In addition to the rollout of the new PlayStation Store in North America, this week also saw the release of PS Vita social brain trainer Smart As, our friend Aram showed us how to apply the Persona 4 pre-order skin to your PS Vita, Clever Beans shows us 10 things we didn’t know about Tuesday’s PS Vita and PS3 release When Vikings Attack!, CCP Games announced a DUST 514 beta double Skill Point week(end), new Halloween trailers for LittleBigPlanet Karting and Puppeteer and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (and a new fan-created TV sport for the former), Panic! and 60 second shooter Deluxe joined the PlayStation Mobile lineup, new DLC for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz for PS Vita, and an inside look at the development saga of top-flight shoot ’em up Under Defeat HD.
