It’s been quite a week for PlayStation Plus since the last time we chatted. Earlier we announced that Plus will be coming to PS Vita and that it will also be getting an upgrade in Online Game Save storage (from 150MB to a beefy 1GB). We’ll have news for you on when these will hit and what these updates will be all about soon enough; until then, let’s take a look at some of the great discounts coming in at the end of the month, and let’s welcome PS3 Full Game Borderlands into the Instant Game Collection in September! It’s a lot to take in so without further ado, let’s get into the preview for the August 28th and September 4th PlayStation Plus updates.

@boomstickbhg
So you bought a 3 month subscription knowing that only one out of the 12 games were useful to you, and expected the next 2 months better? Blame yourself.
@93 borderlands have game chat.
So no Read Dead Redemption or Dead Space 2? Well, I won’t be renewing my subscription.
They can’t please everyone sure.
But it’s more than not getting enough of the free RENTAL games, it’s the quality of the games being offered, it’s the fact that a lot of us have owned the Instant Game’s long before they were free.
It’s also the fact that we use to get better discounts on Buying a game to own forever. Now the discounts are lower and we get a very very very very limited range of mostly very old games on the PSN to rent as the focus.
As someone who prefered owning a game to renting, high discounts to low, free themes/avatars/dlc to nothing, Qore to nothing, regular DLC discounts, etc… This new Plus is a massive dissapointment.
Then add the fact that the EU gets better games and gives out information sooner and more accurately.
Is it any wonder that many aren’t pleased?
If you do like Plus I’m happy for you. I just wish I was one of those people. I use to be, but not the last 3 months.
How come Europe is getting better full ps3 games than us? Red DEAD? Dead Space 2?
@Tjoeb123 – once you purchase them (for $0) they are added to your download list and you can download them as long as your plus is running :)
@broomskickbhg
AMEN!
I noticed the JP store got “Dark Cloud”, a PS2 classic and a sony published title. Any word of it being added to the NA store?
Any chance of getting discounts on zen/marvel pinball or the pinball arcade for ps+? I missed out on the one for marvel pinball.
Borderlands is an excellent addition to the roster for players that haven’t had a chance to experience it yet. Hopefully this helps boost sales for Borderlands 2 because I’m really anticipating that game. It’s a pity that despite this, NA Plus is still playing catch-up to EU Plus content. With so many great titles on the store, it would be nice to see some better deals secured.
Here are some ideas for PS+ games: Deadly Premonition, it came out on the PS3 in near full English in Japan but for some reason it never made it to PS3 in the US. I think it would be a great chance for PS3 owners to finally play this game. Game 2: King of Fighters 13, Great fighting title that could use some more love. One of the best KoF games in years but I think went under people’s radar due to coming out near Capcom fighting titles (UMvC3, and SFxT)
wooooow VERY GOOOOOOD!!! 1gb for my save games, amazing. Thanks for the update Sony!! And Finally a ps3 fullgame for us!! hehehe
Glad you’re excited but please note that the 1gb online game save is coming later this year. Can’t wait to us it myself!
