Starting with today’s PlayStation Store update, PlayStation Plus will deliver an instant game collection to all members!

Starting with 12 blockbuster titles worth over $260 – including inFAMOUS 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Saints Row 2, Just Cause 2, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – PlayStation Plus members will now have a library of games to play in addition to exclusive features like online game saves, automatic updates, priority access to betas, and the best discounts on games, DLC, and other content on the PlayStation Store – all for less than $5 a month. This really helps out, I was going to have to get a new PSN Card.Very surprised that Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown is one of the games is free. Really looking forward to the coming games for Playstation Plus.

I think a lot of people are like me and bought the ultimate deals last week and got screwed this week. I have heard two arguments from others (who didn’t buy the games last week) that we should not be complaining.

1) They came with all DLC
2) You own it for life now

My response to those two criticisms
1) The DLC for Infamous and Just Cause was very poor. Infamous did not include Festival of Blood, it was some bonus weapons (preorder content I think) and avatars. Just Cause was some trucks and weapons. None of that stuff I would actually pay for.
2) I have been a PS+ subscriber from day 1. I will continue to renew because it’s such a great deal, so in effect any ps+ game I download I might as well own.

Tactics like these will just insure that I will not buy any other ultimate deals

:( I only have 8gbs left on my hdd.

Guess it is time to delete some games.

What sony should do with the store after this is update the purchased list with filters so we can find the full games we own so we can easily redownload them instead of scrolling through a massive list.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is free this is great news since I was going to pick this up on my 360 tomorrow. Now I can save 15 bucks. I really like the collection of these games.

Will all of these games be in the collection for the whole month ?

What about other plus offerings like the avatars and themes?

Also will every month be like this from now on ?

I’m in shock. Out of all those I only already have the Tomb Raider game, which is a really good game I’ve been meaning to replay. PS+ should come with cloud storage for all of these, I’m going to have to do some deleting and I have a 350gig hd.

I would also like to know how this is going to work. Are these games going to be rotated out slowly? Do we have to make sure to download them this week?
This may sound weird in comparison to free full PS3 games, but I really hope they don’t stop giving us PSN and mini games completely. And I was really hoping they were going to announce PS+ support for the vita.

  we haven’t taken our eye off the ball with regards to PS Vita, but there’s nothing to announce yet here.
  
  Also, the goal is to get new games rotated in all the time. We’re going to aim to bring new content in as quickly as we can so we’re always providing something new in the collection. And yes, PS One classics and PS2 Classics are all on the table as types of games to add to the collection.

It’s a great update indeed… however I feel bad for buying JC2 Ultimate Bundle (I should’ve saved for Prototype 2…) and a little bad for buying InFamous 2 Hero Edition (oh well, at least I got the skins and whatever else came with the voucher…)

I cant wait to see what ELSE is there for us on PS Store update post

Well at least I don’t have 2 out of the 12. I could always trade my copies of LBP2 and Space Marine. I also feel a little cheated with buying JC2 last week. I already had all the DLC from when the game first came out. Even if I didn’t it would only cost like $6 for it all.

Oh well can’t expect it to be perfect just for me. Plus has always been great for me. Maybe I should just stop buying games and just get everything from Plus. Lol

@55 It would be awesome if Sony put some “group and sort” feature for our Download List… I mean, group all DLC/Add-on/whatever in a “game folder(e.g. a folder named ModNation Racers, when you open it you’ll see the full game(if you have it, of course), plus all the DLCs and add-ons you may have for it (which could be a LOT), resembling that folder view in Windows where you press the + button to see all subfolders)” and make an option to sort between your purchased content and PS+ stuff

Thanks for the amazing update. I’ve been a happy PS Plus user for almost a year now, and I’ll definitely be renewing.

@krae_man – just add them to your cart and checkout so they get added to your download history and then download them at your leisure. I know Infamous 2 is 14.1 gbs so you’ll need to clear up some space or invest in a bigger hard drive.

OK. I do not care that a game I just purchased becomes available for free. What interests me are the DISCOUNTS.
I want to build my OWN library of games, so I have been buying each of which are offered for sale on PlayStation Plus. These “borrowed” does not interest me much. I do not plan to cancel the subscription, but what motivated me to join Plus were discounts. So please, do not focus solely on free and keep offering excellent discounts.
My disappointment in relation to E3 was about Vita not getting Plus support on the Store, but i think that’s the general thought (let’s wait for when the catalog grows up).

This is the most amazing PS+ update ever. I already have half of the games, but the other half I don’t, so yea… something for everyone. My only complaint is that last week Sony introduced the ‘Ultimate’ versions of some of those games with a PS+ discounted price. I bought Just Cause 2, and now you’re giving it for free… WTF?

As others have stated I’m a little disappointed in buying Infamous 2 days before it being released as free for PS+,and also buying Saints Row 2 a few days before buying Infamous 2 makes this hurt even more,but nonetheless,I’m ecstatic for this PlayStation store update and I thank the all who were involved in getting this deal done.

This is nice and all but i would have thought by now. especially with E3 you’d be including some type of Vita or psp content with this. dont get me wrong as a ps3 user i know ill be downloading some games (especially since i didnt really see PS+ as being worth it since majority of the update had content i either had or never wanted in the first place) and its nice for PS3 users.

But i could have sworn the service was called PS+ not PS3+ so one would think by now we would be getting at least Vita or psp content from this service especially coming from someone who owns a Vita it would not only help out people who may own both, but also with users who only have portable system to enjoy the service.

Again this just tells me you guys dont want to take the Vita seriously. if you guys dont why should we? This is (at least in my opinion) why the Psp failed. you guys never took it seriously and when services like this are active you give nothing to us users, now instead of the psp its the Vita.

Dont get me wrong if this was ment for only PS3 users it should be stated and with that i would be happy, but seeing as its called Playstation Plus i would assume it would be cater to everyone and not just PS3.

I put 55 bucks on the ultimate deals sale and i regret nothing, i thought this month update was going to be good but not as good as this, i mean 12 games just because? just for over 5 bucks a month? since i became a ps+ y knew i was doing a big deal but i never thought it would be this good, thanks sony i do apreciate this a lot….. this isnt the place to ask about this, but i overheated one of my ps3s and i dont want to lose my acc on that one, is there anyway if i buy a new ps3 could i keep my account on that new one?

@Morgan I just read in the european blog that this 12 games collection is sticking around for 16 weeks (or 4 months) before being refreshed.

I think you really should point this out on the post, otherwise people are gonna get confused out of the fact that monthly updates like before are pretty much gone (from what I understood), and are going to ask for the next 12 games coming july.

Also, I’d like to know whether we’re getting something similar to the “PPP” (aka PlayStation Plus Presents) that I’ve heard of.

The more information you provide us, the better, for the sake of less complaints and more satisfied consumers.

  Thanks! I think what they meant was, while the core games in the collection will be available to download for some time, we’re going to be adding in new content all the time. We will not be waiting 16 weeks to add new games, and I’m sure the same can be said for SCEE.

@92…jack T CLEARLY said in the conference that Vita games and PSP titles WILL BE COMING TO PS+ TOO….you and many other people keep acting like the Vita has the same numbers of games that the PS3 has right now….wait until more titles are out for the Vita…and you will see them in Plus as well…and if people really want the Vita to succeed then people have to go get it!!!

Not getting a Vita and just crying and complaining about it not having games and whining at sony telling them they dont care about the vita just helps the Vita die quicker!!

if you really care about the Vita GO BUY IT!!
