Set to release in Spring 2012 is VEEMEE’s post-apocalyptic shooter No Man’s Land – arguably PlayStation Home’s most ambitious title yet, offering gamers the most advancing shooter experience the platform has ever seen. And coming this summer is PlayStation Home’s first multiplayer role-playing game, Mercia. Developed by Lockwood Publishing, Mercia transports players into a fantastical world filled with treacherous dungeons, magic spells, and a plethora of weapons and enemies (what’s more – Mercia continually streams content, leading to zero load times while playing!) Race through urban wastelands where chaos and disorder are ever-present, dodging enemy fire and exacting revenge on roaming bands of death-addicted warriors in a world gone mad. • but I hate home community

  • @37 there’s still nothing to do in home it’s boring.

  • loving this update also looking forward to devil may cry HD collection too.

  • @Locust_Star and the rest at Sony,

As much as I appreciate the opportunity to blow off steam each week by complaining about Home updates, I have to bite the bullet and admit…

NICE JOB! Cutthroats is great! It’s lots of fun, the basic controls are really easy to use, the effects are satisfying, the artwork is very nicely done, and there’s a lot of associated content.

A bunch of us forum-goers had a real ball tonight blowing each other out of the water. It’s inherently fun, but it’s even more fun when you’re either teaming up with, or teaming up on, your friends. :)

Kudos to all involved with building it and bringing it to us. You should really get a poll up so we can give you the positive reinforcement you deserve. ;)

  • By the way, in case it’s useful, the common suggestions I heard (and had) today were:

    1) We could use some more ways to communicate during gameplay, especially across ships. The commands to and from crew are fairly good and useful, but some handy canned taunts for the other boats might be nice… you could maybe add Taunt to the L2 menu and then it pops up a ring menu with the flags of the other boats. Something like that, with some canned talk-like-a-pirate epithets, e.g. “Die, ye scurvy dog!” or “I’ll flibber yer gibbet!” or the classic go-to pirate line, “Yar!”

    2) The advanced controls are somewhat non-obvious. Reloading, repairing, upgrades, etc. Yes, the info is all there if you look at it carefully, but that’s an unrealistic expectation with gamers and I assume you guys at Sony know that. :) Everyone today spent a *lot* of time saying “Is there any way to do XYZ?”, or even “OMG you can do XYZ?!?”, or just silently not knowing how to do things. Some kind of tutorial, even in video form that someone could launch at the lobby board, would be very helpful. It’d be a shame if anyone bails on the game too early because they don’t know yet how fun it can be.

  • Interested in seeing how No Man’s Land turns out.

  • I would love Move support for Mercia.

I have always thought Homer would be the best place to implement Move.

Think of the carnival using Move, or any of the mini games would be much more fun if you could use Move.

NML could use Move but I would prefer it for Mercia.

Freemium is a great business model, but paying to get an advantage over others is shady. They should keep the free players away from the paid players or else you are pretty much forced to buy every upgrade to even consider playing it. Then its not really freemium if you have to pay to succeed.

Think Dust514, it will be free to play, but none of the DLC is supposed to give you an unfair advantage.

    Move 1st priority, then 3D.

  • please.. just take Playstation Home out behind the barn and shoot it already..

  • @Locust_Star or GlassWalls, do any of you know what happened to the STEAMPUNK themed MMO thing that was shown at an E3, I think it was 2010. It was a video that was shown in the VIP section of the E3 Virtual HOME booth, something about a meteor heading towards the world and the only way to stop it was for everyone to band together. It looked AWESOME and I couldn’t wait to play it in HOME. But I never heard anything after that. Thank You.
Also the Cutthroats game is AWESOME and very fun, and I can’t wait to play NO MAN’S LAND and MERCIA in PlayStation HOME.

  • @Locust_Star, I found the Qore Interview video for the STEAMPUNK MMO thing public space.

Please let me know what happened to this.

  • Lol, Dragon Age: PS Home Edition

  • Ok cutthroat is a good game but it still needs some work. 1. It won’t let you keep the gold pieces you pick up. 2. Sometimes the ship will get stuck.

  • I’ve got to agree with Blkant to some extent. Games like No Man’s Land should have things like clan and trophy support. Will we see either of these come to PS Home in the future? If it’s not already on the table, there’s an idea.

You already have clubs(clans) within Home and it is possible to designate a default clubhouse. It would be awesome if you all could somehow integrate clubs into games like No Man’s Land to include club tags or basic clan support that shooters outside of Home have.

On another note, will it ever be possible to “group up” for games like this too? If you add features like these listed above, I have no doubt that Home could pull off big FPS/TPS games that could have even bigger popularity.

  • I really enjoyed playing Cutthroats on Home. That was the first Home game that was addictive and fun to play to me. But I got to level 31 in one morning, that seems really short and now what? If you make all these cool new games, maybe there should be more to it so we can enjoy them for longer and more than once!? :)
Anyway, thank you for making PS Home more fun…

  • can anyone please fix HUDSON GATE , it keeps FREEZING , people that are trying to race have to keep turning on and off their PS3 and as you know, once you leave Hudson gate , the results are not saved, unless you make it back in time, but of course , since HOME takes a LIFETIME to get us back, its usually too late to vote for our Dolphyns, please fix this, that is of course if you are not too busy doing something non related to Home …..Thank you .
