  • Very impressive launch & launch-ish line up. Am I the only one excited about the Lego Harry Potter game? I thought it wouldn’t be available since they already released the PSP version. The Vita version should kick @ss! Oh, yeah, of course I’m getting the Uncharted & Escape Plan & maybe Gravity Rush since that seems to be a fan favorite, & the starter kit & we’ll see….

And, in a month or so later, a pretty 3rd party skin so I won’t be stuck with boring black & my Vita will be purple just like my Go & my 3 PS3s.

This launch window assortment really shows us how much developers are enthused about the Vita’s potential.

  • awesome launch lineup. Uncharted, Katamari and Army Corps of Hell are on my radar.

  • Looking forward to Disgaea 3. Desco is pleased to make a cameo in the game.

  • Hey Sony ! No daring ! No buyers !
I mean, No HDMI port, No sales !

Forget about the others and go for it ! I mean, the old fat PS3 is dead and only you guys did not see it !

Best Regrads and Good luck in the future !

  • I’ll be getting the Wi-Fi Vita and hopefully will be able to come up with the money for the 32GB card.
I also plan to pick up the following games, within the launch window :P
    Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
    UNCHARTED: Golden Abyss
    Gravity Rush
    Dungeon Hunter Alliance
    Touch My Katamari

I’m curious though, as DH: Alliance doesn’t say (PSN Only). Does this imply it will be getting a physical release? And if so, will it have a separate trophy list from the digital copy I already have? If it doesn’t have a separate list, would I simply be able to play my PSN copy on the PSV with a modified button mapping to account for the missing shoulder buttons? Agh, so much to figure out…

  • Re: Plants vs. Zombies, SOE is a division of SCE, so why are they listed as a 3rd-party developer/publisher?

  • Great list but still disappointed on the lack of any good bundles. The so-called First Edition bundle does not appeal to me and was hoping to get an Uncharted like bundle. Sure I can pick up the PSV and Uncharted separately but what’s the point?

The whole talk of Sony going proprietary again on their memory is now beyond stupidity. Why can’t they stick with SD or Micro-SD? And they couldn’t even use M2 from the PSPGo. No thanks Sony, I won’t be buying any the PS Vita. I already have a PSP 3000 and a PSPGo.

Sorry, not interested any more in the PSP line.

  • IIIIIIIIIIIIII WAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNTTTTTT AAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLRRRRRRREEEEAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

    CAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTT WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • It’s nice to have more information about the ps vita’s launch. Some questions.

    1) Let’s say that you get a memory card, regardless of size 4, 8,16, or 32 gb. What can you do if you find yourself low on space?

    2) How does the game update process work? The size of each update, how long each takes, etc?

    3) How does the psp system update process work? Similar to the psp and the ps3?

Can we get photos of everything for the launch, like detailed information and what everything looks like, including the cases and headphones.

  • is that there will have to play cards in the first edition bundle for augmented reality. Canada and sorry if I made some typos, English is not my language thank you for your future answers

  • Holy Crap. Is Sony really going to launch a system with no problems? Can it be possible?

They grow up so fast. I remember the PS2 launch, the disc read errors. Hmmmm. The memories.

  • Uncharted, Wipeout and Lumines for me. Can’t wait till the 22nd!

  • WipEout and Katamari for me. Think I’ll stick with an 8mb memory card, given the price and the fact that I intend to buy most games at bricks and mortar stores.
I’ll be getting the Doctor Who game though, which is supposedly releasing *close* to launch via PSN.

  • All I want for christmas is a printed off piece of paper saying that I have it preordered… wait a second!

  • 32 GB Memory Card is $99.99 and at gamestop 32GB PlayStation Vita Memory Card is $119.99. What is going on Sony? I check at every store online and it is just like i said. Unless their plan to change the price later today or soon i can hope for gamers can spend extra for 32GB like i can.

If you can answer my question i’ll be good then?

PS: PSVita is awesome & hope to see it live up to its name here in USA.

    Peace Out :)

I’ll be joining PS+ soon or when i see good offers or not.

  • Unconfirmed sources state that Uncharted: Golden Abyss from PSN will use 2777 MB of memory.
    Can someone confirm this?

  • PSVita WiFi
    32gb Memory Card
    Uncharted Golden Abyss
    Gravity Rush
    Unit 13

  • The 32gb card is $100! The rumor that it was $120 had me worried.

    I’m getting a wi-fi only Vita
    16gb card for now,
    Reality Fighters,
    and Ridge Racer.

  • @217, yes, that’s how big Uncharted is. I know, I’m playing the game right now bought from the Japanese PSN Store.

  • Didn’t know a Silent Hill game was planned for Vita, I envisioned myself late at night headphones on playing it, as for the launch titles, Uncharted all the way and Escape Plan looks great, can’t wait for Killzone for Vita.

  • I gotta say the lineup is very solid, looks to be a much better launch than the 3DS especially since the PS store is available right off the bat whereas with the 3DS people had to wait a few months. I gotta say I’m getting really excited for Vita!

  • Ok so something that I really want to know.. Will there be any ps plus content for the vita when it launches.. I love my plus subscription and being able to get plus content will be that proverbial cherry on top…

  • For some reason the 32GB memory isn’t being released in the EU. I wonder if an imported card would work?

  • Vita 3g/Wifi

    Escape Plan
    Hustle Kings
    Little Deviants
    ModNation Racers: Road Trip
    Super StarDust Delta
    UNCHARTED: Golden Abyss
    wipEout 2048

    32gb Memory Card
    Cradle

My day one purchases. Amazon open up the accessories up for preorders already!

  • I am still yet to purchase ModNation Racers for PS3, lool! :D
But I’m guessing that the traffic on the servers for this game is dying down, so I’m planning on purchasing UNCHARTED 3 instead. ;))

But PS Vita’s Golden Abyss and LittleBigPlanet are two must-buys for me, if I do get a chance to purchase the PS Vita at all! :))

  • I’m getting on launch:

    First Edition bundle
    Uncharted: Golden Abyss
    Escape Plan
    8 GB Memory Card
Those protective films – a must for me

    Within launch window:

    Disgaea 3
    Car adapter

  • what about little big planet when will it be out

  • Any idea on when Amazon will finally add a PS Vita section to their Video Games category?

That and when will Amazon add the memory cards and accessories to its listings?

It is kind of a pain to search for PS Vita games and accessories on Amazon at the moment.

  • 200, Apollo, I am one of the people who complained about the cost of the memory cards and I don’t think I need to grow up. There is nothing wrong with expressing displeasure about something that a company is doing. One might argue that it is even beneficial to said company because it gets a constant stream of feedback from potential consumers.
As for the price of the memory cards, It turns out they are lower than both the initial and secondary reports suggested. Sony said immediately that the initial reports were wrong but the secondary reports turned out to also be incorrect. We may never know if the secondary reports were always wrong or if Sony lowered some of their planned prices based on early backlash. Either way, such a backlash gave Sony potentially valuable consumer information.
As far as a “hidden cost,” you are right that cost is not extremely hidden. That being said, The Vita is not really a $250 system since a Sony memory card is required to play a lot of games. I don’t object to paying more for the vita, I object to being told it is a $250 system when it effectively is not. It is not a huge deal and it is not a problem unique to Sony, but it is a legitimate annoyance.

  • So looking forward to Uncharted, mod nation racers and MLB The Show. I’m really hoping a version of battlefield 3 comes out for the Vita.

  • Mr.John Koller,

I am very pleased to read that there will be more Vita products to purchase on the Early Pack release date. I was wondering if I would be able to pick-up any more titles and accessories on the fifteenth of February. Now, I just hope that Best Buy will announce a midnight launch on that date.

    Cheers!

  • There are not even one RPG at launch… you just lost me who purchased hundreds of games for all ps1 rpg, psp, ps2 and ps3.

Sorry but I’m super extremely tired of the lack of roleplaying games and solid titles on consoles since playstation 2 who had the best lineup in history including titles such as Dragonwarrior VIII, Xenosaga, Valkyrie Silmeria, Suikoden, Wild Arms, Tales, .Hack//, Persona/Shin Megami Tensei, Growlanser, Mana Khemia, Grandia, Star Ocean and so many more masterpieces.

Where are all the great rpg nowadays??? It’s not fun for a gamer like me. :( :(

  • For that matter, gamers like me who are collectors don’t need a simple 32gb memory stick they want 64 to 128gb. If I’m going to buy games it’s not only 10-15 games, but hundreds of games, so how the hell am I going to keep my games and saves on a stupidly low 32 gb when I can’t even have enough space with 48 gig on psp??? Money is never the issue at hand, and we got plenty of cash to spent freely but again you guys never think about us who spend three thousand dollars in a single buy on your games. I feel so left out when they never think more ahead of their time anymore. Where is the innovation in games and consoles nowaday, ehh???

WTB a company that cares about RPG fans and hardcore collectors and gamers… with better deluxe kits AND HIGHER QUALITY TITLES SELECTION, thanks! >.<

  • I’m so insulted they don’t develop extremely high quality roleplaying games anymore. stupid crap without towns like FFXIII even if they had a possible story going they cut the towns and everything cool because of development cycle and time window giving us a stupid reason it takes too much time…well then they shouldn’t make the game in the first place if they dont know how to make games or dont have the will anymore. Where are the good game designers these days??? Anyone up to take the challenges to make fantastic, engrossing and totally immersive RPG’s???

  • Frustrated rpg fan that played since 1989 and I spend over 15 ,000 this year in games to complete ps2, psp and ps3/xbox game collection. I’m a huge fan of anime and rpg but since lunar i haven’t seen something reaching the goals of vast universe and simple story bringing us there. If HD games cost too much the heck aren’t you just uppin PS2 games to HD by making the internal res higher like on emulator i got games on my collection looking way better than ps3 games, and you call ps vita fun when i see no titles whatsoever promising me fun times and quality ROLEPLAYING games is all i play the most, well I do have every shooters on the market and beat’em up fighting games and all, but I want RPGs nothing else and maybe some musou and hack and slash.

I get nothing on vita so pass for me!

  • And don’t bring me Disgaea 3 being RPG when I got it on ps3 along with Disgaea 4, I want fresh blood and quality titles!

  • All I see on Vita are remakes of current titles with no risks involved! >.< What's going with publishers not bringing us really cool games anymore?

  • WTB ALL PS2 rpg games imported to ps3 in high res for that matter because the ps3 in north america has next to none! I don’t 13 rpgs a great fantastic selection of games…are you nuts?! This is the laugh stock of my rpg gaming community since Sony isn’t dedicated to us, gamers, since ps2.

We don’t want shooters, we want RPG’s!
I’ll play like hell of a time Street Fighter X Tekken but gimme RPG’s too! =p

/vent off for being ignored for several years by Sony who promised ps3 to be ps2 compatible backward but took it out back then! You screwed me enough with ps3 don’t do that to me with vita or I’m looking elsewhere.

  • One last thing while on topic that’s been greatly bothering me. The fact that games these days only bring us 20 hours of gameplay through the storyline and does not become engaging anymore, when you give me only 20 It’s barely an appetizer not even worth it. I want true games with 60 to 100+ hours of fun, immersion and get away from reality with amazing replay value or simply a tale that trancends time…. now that’s a game. Not something you finish over a weekend of 2x 14h of gaming. I want to grow with the game and live in it some more.

Games are too short because they are in HD then give games more development time, less crush time and more freedom to become alive, true masterpieces.

Games fun and games length are great problems I want Sony to understand before it’s too late. Maybe in Japan you got many more games than we do but in North America we’re left with nothing much of value with from time to time something worth to buy. Everything else is a repeat of the previous thing. Innovation is dieing at the hand of the cost of HD. So, what are you gonna do to answer this other important issue, Sony?

  • Some ideas:

Make a software to to install our old ps2 games compatible with VITA or PS3 backward once signed in and identified! You promised us being the top gaming company with the best consoles but I have yet to see that happening in 5 years! Stop saving costs and reach higher standards…removing the ps2 lens to read the ps2 games on ps3 consoles just because of costs.. was the biggest lack of foresight in your history with the HDTV coming on the market slaving people forced to play with blurred ps2 games like on my Sony Bravia 55″ XBR929 because it’s not 60 fps but 120 it creates ghost images. I play my psp on HDTV and I want to be able to play PS Vita too. I feel cheated sony does not market highest end of the state of the art anymore simply for cost reduction things when I have come to expect much more from them.

Simple solution from now on : always create a DELUXE edition for your consoles and a different edition at low cost for the low budget people who can’t pay a dent for the real thing but don’t screw us over those are who big time collectors who need retro compatibility who have the cash to pay.

I sincerely want Sony to remember what made ps1 and ps2 awesome!

  • Shesh Dakaran I think they got your point 6 or so posts ago. I understand how you feel about the whole RPG thing buy you have to keep in mind that unfortunately in this case the times have rolled on and there just aren’t many RPGs being made in the way that you would like them. With this being the case I have adapted to the way things are. I am not saying you need to be this is what has worked with me.

Speaking of the memory cards I was just wondering does ANY ONE know why even though the right prices for the accessories (namely the memory cards) has been stated Gamestop isn’t correcting the prices on their site?

  • Okay, so games are going to be getting Special Editions and priced at $49.99, right?

Standalone games won’t be priced at $49.99, right?

I refuse to pay $50 (plus tax) on a handheld game.

  • I don’t get it. If the game is the same console game (which every thing is it will be on the Vita) then why is there a problem with paying 50 for a game. I mean we are paying 64.19 for PS3 games and the like and no one complains so why now. If you want good quality games you have to pay the cost even Nintendo is learning this. So if you want the same crapy portable games get an iphone, otherwise get a Vita. The choice your’s. I’ll see all the real gamers on the vita.

  • I bought my Ps Vita in Japan and DOES NOT come with the AR cards, since no ar games have been released. Is it possible to buy them separately when they release so i can just get the ar cards?

  • *edit* I don’t get it. If the game is the same experience as a console game (which every thing says it will be on the Vita) then why is there a problem with paying 50 for a game. I mean we are paying 64.19 for PS3 games and the like and no one complains so why now. If you want good quality games you have to pay the cost even Nintendo is learning this. So if you want the same crappy portable games get an iPhone, otherwise get a Vita. The choice yours. I’ll see all the real gamers on the vita. *end edit*

  • Well, Just Preordered my PS Vita…..AAHHHHHHH CANT WAIT FOR IT!!!!!!!

  • @John Koller

I was wondering if you had any news about a White PSVITA !?!?!?

  • add PS2 games to the PS Vita. just like you did with PS1 games with the PSP. that would be cool.
