The Drop: Week of December 12th 2011 New Releases

Fight along side the resistance in the martian underbelly of Mars in Red Faction: Armageddon. Also, join Alice in conquering nightmarish hallucinations in Alice: Madness Returns, both available for full-digital downloads. Plus, a cardinal of PSN demos and a PSmini complete the PSN ensemble in this week’s The Drop.

PlayStation Network

Red Faction: Armageddon — Half a century after the Red Faction resistance freed Mars, the red planet again becomes a battleground. Colonists struggle for survival in the underground mines after the surface is rendered uninhabitable. When Darius Mason, grandson of revolution heroes Alec Mason and Samanya, unknowingly releases a long-dormant evil, Armageddon is unleashed on Mars. As settlements are torn asunder, only Darius and the Red Faction can save mankind. The battle will take them to the core of the storm-blasted planet through ice caves and lava flows until they are face to face against the unspeakable threat.

Alice: Madness Returns — Alice: Madness Returns takes place 10 years after the conclusion of the original game, with Alice struggling to recover from the emotional trauma of losing her entire family in a fatal fire. After spending a decade institutionalized in an insane asylum, she is finally released to the care of a psychiatrist who just may be able to help her conquer the nightmarish hallucinations that still haunt her. Alice embarks on a mission to root out the true cause of her family’s mysterious death, jumping from a gloomy and stark London to a rich and provocative Wonderland.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood — Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood transports players from a ravaged Civil War-era Georgia to the Aztec ruins of Mexico. In the wildest West ever depicted, players can embody both McCall brothers in an intense Wild West storyline full of greed, lust and lawlessness that takes place during a legendary period of American history.

Family Feud Decades — Family Feud Decades pits two families against each other in a contest to name the most popular responses to survey-type questions posed to 100 people. Players will be challenged to answer questions from various decades correctly. The game has a fun, retro feel, featuring the classic set designs and scoreboards from each of the decades the TV show has aired. Additionally, players design a personal avatar to represent them in the game, with hilarious outfits from different eras including hippie, disco, grunge and more.

  • Bring back “Indigo Prophecy” for PS3 classics. ’nuff said

  • oops PS2 classics*

  • The drop for this week: Skyrim’s FPS. Seriously Sony, take position on the matter! Fingers are pointing at your console limitations instead of a faulty software! Do like IGN and Eurogamer and react! People shouldn’t be buying X360 and PC versions to solve the problem!

  • What happened to Amy?

  • Yeah I’m pretty sure Sonic CD drops on Wednesday…

  • The Free for PLUS version of Marvel Pinball also “drops” this week. Yay for PLUS!

Can’t wait to play some tables…

  • Any word on that Uncharted 3: Flashback dlc? Kinda still waiting on that one :/

  • Where’s Sonic CD? D:

  • At least we’ll get two SNK minis…
Marvel Pinball? I already have Casino Night on Sonic Classics, thats enough for me =p

@11 Yeah, they announced at SEGA blog. It was supposed to be released this year….n we have 3 updates left.

    @22 PS1/PS2 Classics wouldn’t be a suicide

    @36 Did you already checked the Store? FF5, 6 n Chrono r there =0

  • If the digital Alice Madness Returns doesn’t come with the first Alice came then it’s not a buy for me. I hate to lay some extra bucks for the first Alice game DLC thing after buying Madness Returns in digital version.

I would be really happy if Sony Playstation release this on the PSN Store:

    Ape Escape – PSone Classic

Fatal Frame Trilogy HD Collection or at least release them as PS2 classics.
Please, Sony. Release them. I would buy them in a heartbeat.

  • No Gex 2 :(

I hope it comes out soon

  • Where’s the Uncharted 3 DLC? Naughty Dog, I expected so much more from you…

  • OFF TOPIC, But I don’t care… SONY, Why can’t I copy my PS1 games (DLed) from my PS3 to my PSP anymore? My PSP does NOT connect to the PSstore by itself, so now I have a pretty much worthless PSP paperweight (which is also useless in this digital age). Please, please, please give us (customers, you know, the guys that pay your bills) a heads up if you are going to be removing features like this in the future. I’m starting to think you guys (SONY) don’t care about us anymore :(

  • I would do very naughty things to get doom and duke nukem 3D ports like the wolf 3D one on psn. very. naughty. things.

  • I will be one happy dude when I see a re-release of the Mark of Kri…..cool game.

  • Christmas is in two weeks there better be a good update

  • Wow…

There releasing the demo for KOFXIII and I just bought the game yesterday. Talk about poor timing on my part. :P

    BTW, it’s an AWSOME game!

  • @3

Hit and Run was a surprisingly good title. I miss it. Darn you BCless PS3! ‘Course if I have my way, a HD version would be out for PS3. :)

  • Like to see Tomba! 1 + 2 please. I know they released it in Japan ( I think both) and saw they are planning on releasing them in Europe. Whats the hold up?

  • Nothing I want to download but hey its a update

  • Honestly… if these weak updates continue I’ll be inclined to grab an XBL points card instead of another PSN card. It’s two weeks before Christmas, Sony, reach into your big bag of goodies and share some god damn Christmas joy!

  • how about Psi-ops : the mindgate conspiracy for ps2 classics, and for the love of god BRAVE FENCER MUSASHI for ps1 classics..PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good but I am waiting for ps2 classics kingdom hearts .

  • god, where is sonic cd? i better have it tomorrow on the 14th or I will not be happy

  • I like the weekly updates but this one is lacking….. Oh well there’s always next week.

I’m still curious if the PS3 will ever get dedicated apps for things such as YouTube, Facebook,Twitter, Google+ and even the PlayStation blog. (Don’t tell me it cant handle it because my Motorola droid can handle things like this…… granted its not outputting 1080p but even still a HQ YouTube app on the PS3 wouldn’t take that much RAM).

  • Info for people asking: Sonic CD comes out next Tuesday(12/20) here in the US.It was released in Europe today. =__=

  • Playstation classics
    -Twisted Metal 4
    -The Game of Life (lol)
    PS2
    -Hitman Trilogy w/trophies
..And more Kevin Smith Movies like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

  • I can’t believe nobody mentioned it yet… What, no love for the TimeSplitters series on PS2? I’d gladly drop $50 on an HD bundle with all three… IF they included online play.
