In celebration of the launch of ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, Ueda-san has kindly sent us his comments:
We’ve finally made it to the release date of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection. I would really like to especially thank the gamers, fans, and the media within North America, as the title has received such an incredible amount of support and praise from this region. I sincerely hope you will all enjoy the re-mastered collection.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the staff at Bluepoint Games and SCEA in the development and production of these titles. We were extremely lucky to be working with such talented staff. Their efforts helped the Collection exceed our highest quality expectations, as well as get though its development cycle without any major issues. I sincerely appreciate the great work done by everyone involved.
Get ready to take the re-mastered game home and be immersed in these highly artistic and picturesque game worlds today!
I love this game so much. I do have a rant though. The Canada version does NOT get a reversible cover art that the US version has. Seriously, what in the world? This may seem small, but us up North feel cheapened out.
Aaaand purchased.
My only regret is that Sony’s 24″ 3DTV isn’t out for a couple more months, so I’m stuck having to play this in traditional 2D.
Also am slightly disappointed of no reversible cover for us Canucks, but it’s a minor point to me since I only ever see the spines of my game cases with the way I place them on my bookshelf.
First part of my Dream has come True.
Second Part will come true with the Yakuza HD Collection.
i’m playing it right! The game looks so great! In Ico the colors just pop!
I already have the PS2-games but I demand this game to be released on PSN! I’ve purchased all other PS2/PSP-HD-upgrades on PSN, I will do the same with this collection.
Btw, I’ve beaten Shadow of the Colossus sixteen times. My 2nd favorite game of all time.
Unfortunately no reversible box art for my Canadian version aswell : <
Suppose I'll have to print it out which isn't to bad considering that they uploaded a full sized image here

BUT my printer is very pixely : |
PLEASEEEEEEE have a digital release on PSN for download soon!!! Please please please! =(
1080 + 7.1 + Trophies = WIN!
That’s cool.. but I’m only waiting on 1 hd release game today! I have my 10 dollars line up for that!!
what about a digital release on PSN? is it coming someday?
One of my fav things is the reversible cover art. Thanks for that. It looks great.
I just bought a copy after work today. Too bad I don’t have an HDTV to fully enjoy these games, but I’ll still have fun playing them again.
I just picked up my copy, can’t wait to play them again for the first time!!! 8)
Picked it up earlier today, already reversed the cover art. It looks so nice, love the reversible cover. Can’t wait to sit down and play ICO for the first time ever with my wife tonight. Thanks guys.
Awesome stuff, looking forward to giving them another go.
Small gripe though…why didn’t you guys say Canada wasn’t getting the reversible cover?
I’m slightly miffed about a classic game, which is wrong as it’s two great games.
Please think of something other then letting us “print” them ourselves. Its not the same…
Mmmhmm I’m probably going to have to go to some specialty print shop and get it printed out for like 50 bucks or something ridiculous like that. : |
Yeah, my copy from Canada also doesn’t have the reversible box art. Resistance 3 had it, why not this? This is pretty lame…
@Hatchetforce:
Wow, that’s truly a shame. I’ll monitor this situation for an update. In the meantime, I’ll be picking up ICO/SOTC (a given) and GOW Origins (I was going to get it later, but I’ll move it up a bit.)
Best Buy offering $20 off two collections games, I got ICO/SOTC and God of War Origins for $60. Check it out.
Getting it this weekend, cannot wait. Amazing Work!!!
@ODINGameslayer
I picked up GOW Origins when it launched. It kicks butt and the 3D implementation is really well handled.
Loved the soundtrack and the visuals!
Lovely game for the PS2 and now remastered for the PS3 is brilliant!
I still can’t believe it’s finally out! Next on the list is the Metal Gear Collection.
*DEALS*
If you have a Fry’s Electronics store around you, they are selling the game for only $30 for a few days. Just picked up my copy. woo hoo!
Ahh i can’t wait to go pick up my reserved copy! Thank God my dorm allows tvs and ps3s, cuz i’d be pretty depressed if they weren’t. >___<'

Best Buy is doing the same as well for this game too!
So worth it at full price, even more divine at $30.
I beated shadow on PS2 and for sure its one of the best games of all-time…its one of my fav…cant wait to get my hands on my copy…also I never played ICO so now its a good chance.
I cant wait to replay Shadow of the Colossus and play ICO for the first time. It should be looking sharp with all the new tweaks and graphics improvement.

Lets not forget Flower and Journey now.
As for this, I’m about to go get my copy right now! I’ve never played Ico, but I did play and enjoy Shadow of the Colossus very much, can’t wait to give it another go in HD and 3D :D
Hurry up with The Last Guardian Team ICO!
I can’t wait to get it, I’m picking it up later today. I’ll finally be able to play ICO :D Thank you for releasing this so that these games can be experienced by people like me who missed the boat. (I do have SotC, but got it so late that I was expecting a Collection to happen so didn’t complete it.)
Oh no, no reversible art for Canada? D: That’s a huge bummer.
the day is finally here! Oh the joy!
I can’t wait to re-experience these masterpieces, but my Amazon says I won’t be playing them till early October!
Thanks to both teams for all your hard work!
@Kumi: if you’re still reading these, please tell Team Ico that not 20 minutes ago I went out & bought a Bravia HX929 3d HDTV just so I can fully enjoy their masterpieces. Oh, and for U3 in about a month. And, (huge impatient sigh), the Last Guardian, if that ever really comes some day.
Wow, that’s the way to do it! I’ll let the team know for sure. Hope you’re enjoying the full experience! :D
