Resistance 3 (3D and PS Move Support) — America is lost. Four years after the epic conclusion of Resistance 2, dishonorably discharged Sentinel Joseph Capelli is in hiding from the invading Chimeran menace with a pocket of survivors, including his new wife and young son. But when Dr. Fyodor Malikov arrives with a desperate plan, he sets into motions the events of Resistance 3, the third installment in the popular full-featured first-person shooter series. Resistance 3 is created by critically-acclaimed developer Insomniac Games exclusively for the PlayStation 3 system.

Set in a brutal, alternate 1950s universe, America has been successfully conquered and destroyed by the deadly Chimeran race, forcing the last remaining human survivors to seek refuge in hiding. Players must take on the role of Joseph Capelli, the last surviving Sentinel from a clandestine military program, as he comes out of hiding to journey across a land of ruin in a heroic fight for survival against the merciless Chimera. In addition to an epic single-player campaign, Resistance 3 offers two-player online or split-screen co-op through the single-player campaign, and a new, focused progression-based multiplayer experience.

  • And here we go with nothing for psp users. granted i will be getting Dead Island! played the PS Home game to get the unlock weapon so im ready. But that doesnt make up for the zero support for the psp. its really shameful to be a fan for something that their own company doesnt support. Its right to assume that you wont support the Vita as well? i mean you never supported the Psp, why change for the vita?

  • Resistance 3 doomsday edition + I’m getting the new ps3 surround sound headset. That might just be the most immersive gaming experience in my life. surround sound+ sharpshooter control. Just missing the 3d.

  • Headset comes out tuesday and they say nothing about it? :/

  • Hey Rey is Astro Tripper the same game that released a long time ago? If so is something different about it or is this a typo? I love PomPom games and if this is something different I would definitely love to pick it up.

  • whereare MY keepsakes???!!

  • Overall meh week still have too big a backlog though so it’s all good.

  • cant wait to get my resistance 3 on! i cant wait to own noobs.

  • Should I take back my Turtle Beach PX21’s ( I got recently) and get the Sony headset or do you think there’s no difference?

  • Weak week for PSP owners. Just did search for the word “PSP” on this page and realize that this drop doesn’t even mention the PSP!!

  • Can’t wait for Disgaea 4. Hope we get some avatars for it too.

  • How much are Astro Tripper, Rugby World Cup 2011, Skydrift, and Mega Man 4. And is Driver San Francisco also available as a digital download?

  • Rugby? Seriously? Are you kidding me.. It’s just sad… Do you even know what consumers want?

  • Hey Rey what’s up. U guys back @ Sony think it’s possible to put some NFL avatars up on the PSN in the near future? Thanks!

  • And for the importing crowd Tales of Xillia comes out this week. I’ll probably import it next month, because too much money is going to regular domestic releases this month.

  • Buying Resistance 3, Dead Island and Bloodrayne. Good bye social life (its worth it lol) LONG LIVE PLAY!!!!

  • wowww,. best drop i seen in my life….jam pack

  • So this is the month all the games have been hiding in.

managed to get the exploding zombiemeat after a full day on that horrible home survivor game:D

I got both games pre ordered so this week i’ll be up to my armpits in hybrid & zombie goo

    life is good

  • I want Resistance 3, but for some reason I’m not really hyped for it and this is coming from a guy who played and enjoyed both of the first 2. Maybe im all FPS’d out for the time being, the beta was pretty cool and I did have some fun although there was some weird level up glitch where it would set me back 2-3 levels when I restarted the game. I will probably end up getting R3 sometime down the road, I will however be getting ICO collection this month and possibly GOW Origins if I have the money as well. Can’t wait to try the demo and see how it looks in HD and 3D on my TV :D

Will there be an ICO collection demo? I will be buying it anyways, but I’d like to try a demo just to see how it looks and plays early. :P

  • DEAD ISLAND W00t w00t !!!

  • 24 hours till resistance 3!

  • Can’t wait for Resistance 3!!!

  • The resistance 3 beta sucked, you guys should buy Killzone 3 (if you don’t have it already) instead.Oh yeah Rey can you tell to the lazy Sony devs that the PS3 browser needs to be updated ASAP please,oh yeah and tell them to add Dragon Ball Z avatars on PS store please

  • Resistance Retribution on PS Vita with Dual Analog stick support. Ok this is Crazzy but I’m not buying the same game over and over just becouse vita dosn’t suport UMD’s.and I’m not going to go buy any more Umds ether. PsP is dead….

  • I guess this means we aren’t getting Driver: SF on PSN this week

  • I’ve been waiting forever for chrono cross to hit the ps store when are they gonna release that game that was by far my favorite rpg for ps1 that they haven’t released yet!

  • It was stated that this update will be very beneficial to plus. I hope that hasn’t changed. Also, how hard would it be to get Spyro: Year of the Dragon updated to the Greatest Hits version? The current version still has the speedway glitch, and that glitch has killed the game for me.

  • DARZERO i am with you on the chrono trigger chrono cross front

  • Let´s go all the way to Megaman (Rockman) 8 . We need a PSP imports section too = D

  • I’m not buying Resistance3, but I found a commercial that was better done and even puts, Kevin Butler, to shame. No, I’m being very serious with this link and the commercial (Just watch.) Personally enjoyed this over anything related to Resistance3 since the very first live action commercials.

As for the drop this week. I have to agree, Itofuman. Sony is back at ignoring the PlayStation Portable users (again.) I’m happy to see MegaManIV drop this week, butat the same time it’s just from the imports. So, not really. As for quality of games? I leave that up to the individuals. Personally I’m not pleased and I don’t find the games to be worth my time (and I love zombies. What a shame.) I’ll just wait though and see what else makes it’s way out onto this update (atleast content wise.)

  • Oh, no online split screen for Resistance 3… Will pass it then. The online beta was just ok in my opinion. Maybe I’ll get it later when the price drop a little to play the single player campaign, that seems to be good.

  • 3Love the comments bout the Vita. I’m going to have to get back to Dead Island. With R3 coming out [and as of today] not having finished Deus Ex … I have my plate full. I have at least half a dozen awesome titles I haven’t gotten to finish. Trying to work on getting more caught up before Long weekend ends.

  • R3 and Dead Island FTW!!! 8)

  • @46
There are some great minis out there!

  • at 81 or you could buy Resistance Burning Skies !!!!!

  • hey Rey are we ever gonna see Heavenly Sword on PSN ?

  • this is great guys, also i went to the Raleigh MLG and got to try resistance 3 before it came out and Starhawk and i must say Starhawk is a day one buy for me.

  • buying r3 primarily for its campaign(which i hope will be lengthy) and dead island for a nice hack and slash..

and why do people say certain games suck when they have yet to be released and reviews from hands on gameplay are above good.. is it because of ones budget allowing one to only be able to buy 1 game and the “if i dont have it you shouldnt either” mentality comes into play or is it just based on nothing and to spark a flame?

either way, regardless of the reason, if it dont apply, let it fly..
if dead island or resistance 3 is going to “suck” then make me a game which is better and i will pay you the 60 bucks..

just dont agree how a few sour grapes try to bitter the taste in everyone’s mouth and doing it a day before a game releases and on the drop blog..

    party crashers,lol..

everyone else, hope to see you on either or game which sadly isnt a midnight release over here.

  • Mega Man IV… nice!

  • Can’t wait to get my hands on Resistance 3! It’s a day one buy for me. The rest of those games look really good as well.

  • Hey I thought R3 had split screen online multiplayer!
I read somewhere that Insomniac stated it would be in the final game with individual dual PSN log in, but that it would be left out of the beta. The reason I say this is because this was one of the features I wanted the most for Resistance 3 and they said it would be in the final game. Just thought I’d let the people who wanted to know. I could look for the link and post it here if you guys want.

  • @95

Totally agree bro. Its kinda sad how you get these childish geeks to just try to bitter everyones experience. I think its disrespectful to the people who work to make these games. It takes a lot of hard work, talent, and money. If something is not your cup of tea isn’t it better to do something productive or that you like than to sit here and type bs nonsense? Anyhoo, I know I’m going to REALLY enjoy Resistance 3 (doing a family game night marathon saturday with this baby), BloodRayne, and maybe Dead Island. Going to read PSextreme’s review first. I usually agree with Ben. We have similar tastes <3.
    Anyway. LONG. LIVE. PLAY. :D

  • Resistance 3 finallyyyyy!!!…I made it until lvl 30 on the beta and I cant wait to play through single player. Also cant wait to God Origins I already beat both on PSP but I cant wait to get plat on both.

  • @47 yea resistance has a dual pack i bought it a few weeks ago.

wish i could get R3 i need money :( but beta is good for now. Sony please tell me your making a Ratchet and Clank dual pack i really want those games.
