This week saw new details for PSN’s upcoming horror game Amy, Resistance 3’s orchestral score, the final phase in PlayStation Home’s Dead Island infestation, a preview of The House of the Dead: OVERKILL – Extended Cut‘s second PS3-exclusive level, a new Resistance 3 developer diary focusing on Chimeran weapons, an update on Dyad‘s music-gameplay fusion, and news of an upcoming UNCHARTED 3 special on Spike TV (applicants needed!).
I also took a test flight of Combat Wings: The Great Battles of WWII, a combat flying game due out this November on PS3. It was a lot of fun – I’m no expert at flying games, but the PlayStation Move support worked wonders to simplify the interface.
Not a bad week for releases, either, with Madden NFL 12 and Bodycount hitting PS3 Blu-ray, plus a slew of PSN games: Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, Elevator Action Deluxe, SNK’s classic fighter World Heroes, PSN PLAY title The Baconing and more. And today will see the PlayStation Plus launch of the Assassin’s Creed Revelations Multiplayer Beta. Of course, the release schedule is going to intensify in the coming weeks with the holiday rush – starting with Resistance 3, Dead Island and Space Marine this Tuesday – so enjoy this (somewhat) quiet spell while you can.
