Revisiting Hillys: Beyond Good & Evil HD Coming to PSN Next Week

The time has almost come for you to join Jade on her quest to uncover a planet-wide alien conspiracy. For those of you that are new to Beyond Good & Evil, you will be able to partake in a hidden gem that 1UP says is “still a treasure today.” For the veterans of the series, you’ll experience the best version of Beyond Good & Evil HD that we have to offer, including updated visuals and audio. Still don’t believe me?! Well, check out our new trailer including a handful of our favorite review quotes:

As a quick reminder, we will be offering two free PlayStation Network avatars for all purchasers who pick up Beyond Good & Evil HD within the first two weeks of launch. I personally will be switching my avatar to Pey’j (he’s a pig with a wrench… what’s not to like?!).

Keep your eyes out for Beyond Good & Evil HD to hit the PlayStation Network next Tuesday for $9.99.

I bought this game for PS2 a long time ago, but never got around to playing it. I’ll buy this and play it for sure this time.

  • Whats with the starwars laser sound effects and why was this so freaking late? The game looks ok. Not sure why its a jem but to each his own.

  • Ouch. No PS+ discount even though it was advertised to have a 20% discount in April, released nearly a month if not over a month late, and released here in NA later than EU plus competitor consoles? After EU got the promised 20% discount through PS+? That’s just not right…

I was hyped to see this game coming. I was even more hyped to buy at launch date or at least within the first week so I could take advantage of the free avatars. After this little stunt though that’s a sale lost. Particularly since it’s been over two months of anticipation and details coming in of sales that should be happening.

I know that sounds cheap but… Keep your promises. To have constant questions about this title for months on top of questions about the PS+ discount go unanswered until less than a week before the game finally launches for a region is bad practices that come out of the Activision playbook.

  • still waiting for shadow of the collosus and ico

  • If yall were smart like me,u could hav been playin it cuz PS3’s are not region coded.so jus dwn load it frm the eu store

  • No Y-axis inversion? No purchase.
No excuse this day and age. Its a shame, was looking forward to this game.

  • $10 for this game is a very good deal. Sure it is very bad business for a company to advertise a discount and then not give it, but the price is well worth it except for one issue that is talked about which is the control inversion option. That should have been fixed. I was going to purchase this on release day; I will not now. If I read a patch is out to fix this, then I will purchase it.

Back to the discount promise not kept. For those who purchased a Plus account and this was one of the deciding factors, then I must say that will only hurt Sony’s and Ubisoft’s sales of this title. It will also hurt Sony with word getting around that they don’t keep their promises. If you saw a Sony promise that enticed you to get a Plus account, would you pay for that service now? That’s very bad business.

  • I’m a pretty reasonable Playstation supporter (as I’m sure is obvious by my pandering Pro avatar over there), but I thought I’d add my voice to the people disappointed by the lack of the Playstation Plus discount.

For those of us who showed loyalty through the outage, it’s frustrating to see that loyalty picked at in little ways.

The only reason we didn’t get the promised discount is because of an error on the Sony side that was the result of lax security and (if some reports are true) a fired security staff. I don’t blame Sony for the outage. Crime is crime and frankly we shouldn’t need to protect ourselves from it. Obviously in a world of game theory and a lack of collective action we MUST account for crime, but the criminals are ultimately to blame.

However, that doesn’t mean that moments like this aren’t fractionally damning to a company’s reputation.

I’m still a huge Sony fan and supporter, but I went ahead and bought my copy of Beyond Good and Evil from XBox Live as a tiny protest.

  • where is it? im gonna go mad if these bastards were lying

  • Question!

Are the 2 avatars limited edition?
