It’s the first day of summer and the PlayStation Store has some great updates for everyone today. More “Welcome Back” offers from EA are available in PlayStation Plus, and they include great discounts for 3 on 3 NHL Arcade, Madden NFL Arcade and The Masters Eagle Pack for Tiger Woods 2012. Alien Zombie Mega Death, available for $7.99, is the new PS3 downloadable game this week. And for those of you with PlayStation Move and/or a 3D-enabled television, you’ll want to try the Virtua Tennis 4 demo (which supports both Move and 3D!). There’s tons of great add-ons to your favorite PS3 games, including DLC for Marvel vs Capcom 3, L.A. Noire, Killzone 3, Rock Band 3 and more.

I guess the PSP is officially dead now… Last few updates have all but ignored it with the exception of Patapon 3 that, while a great game, was misunderstood by reviewers. The one thing it had going for it as the sale of the half price sale for the God of War games, but that got cut short early by the network downtime.
Best thing this week is the great discount for 3 on 3 NHL arcade, which I’ve had forever. Nothing else too appealing to me.

As others have said, the sonic birthday bundle isn’t on the store anywhere that I can find. However I don’t agree this update is all bad. I’m checking out the BCR2 demo now (even with the stupid DRM i may buy it) and the Zen Pinball/Marvel Table bundle is pretty awesome, I’ve been wanting to check those games out.
Braid is off already? Wow. First you falsely advertise the price and then it is gone one week after?

You would think this would be a golden opportunity to showcase the PS+ because of all the people with the 1 month trial. Yet you Sony completely wasted this opportunity. If what I’ve seen so far from my trial is any idication as to how PS+ works, you will never see me subsribe to it. I’m sorry to the people who paid for it when it first was unvailed.
Is TMNT Re-Shelled being removed from the PSN Store? It says in a tiny blurb near the bottom of the ads “Last Chance Download Today!” That might be a nice thing to let people know.
@93, kingdubin, whoa, chill dude. I had to go back & read @ 10 to see what you’re so mad about. Just think about this: last week, Amazon had a roughly $100 discount on the 160 gb PS3. Sold out in 6 min. You should have seen the complaining blog posts. Today’s special is $100 credit on 4 gb xbox with kinnect. It’s been 9 hours & not sold out.
I got the PS3 but will be swapping out for 500 gb HDD. Then I’ll be able to buy movies & more digital games, like this BG&E that is the current main complaint topic.

As long as we’re making suggestions & comparisons to the euroblog, GRACE, how about putting the Plus sign on our avatars so it shows in the blog? I know those euros are more into class divisions than us, snicker, but it looks cool.
This is a decent update with a variety of DLC for some great games. Just not the overload of content we’ve seen in the past few updates.
@50, Do you have an early unreleased version of the Vita? I would think plenty of games will be released to the PlayStation Store in time for a new device capable of playing them.
Ouch, I still haven’t activated my free PS+ because there’s nothing on that list that makes me want to do it. Let alone purchase it. The update itself is abysmal, I understand it’s a slow month , this is a horrible way of treating the consumers that stuck with you after all that nonsense. No PSone classics, I bet we’ll get one next week that will be a crappy game and label it as a classic.
Where’s Legend of Dragoon all ready. Come on guys,. might as well put those good classics now as it’s going to be quiet these next two months. I don’t think many will be spending much either. September all the way through November. many will be spending on alot of hit titles and HD remakes.

For those who are wondering about the Sonic bundle contents, it’s a price cut on Sonic 1, 2, 4 and Adventure.
Where is Sonic 3 & Knuckles? What’s the point in offering the Genesis titles and holding back the best and longest one in the series?
For those who think its unnecessary because of Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection, why did they release 1 and 2 then? Also, the collection didn’t have the lock-on feature so you could never play the entire S3&K and reach Doomsday, as well as playing Sonic 2 with Knuckles.
Both LIVE and Wii Shop have it, only PSN doesn’t. I hope its just a temporary exclusivity.

I’m still a PS+ fan, and I like that I’m good to go until Dec. 21st (check your expiration dates they did give us an extra 10 days, my original expiration date was Oct 11, then Dec 11) but it sure has been lame the last few months. I’m guessing Sept., Oct., and Nov. will be good to get people to re-up.
