With the E3 Expo just around the corner, the PlayStation Home team is happy to announce that you’ll be able to be part of the convention excitement — right from your PS3!
For the first time ever, PlayStation Home will host a live public video stream of the Sony E3 press conference on Monday, June 6 at 5pm Pacific Time in a special screening room. You can watch SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton reveal all of the big E3 announcements and watch never-before-seen footage of tons of upcoming PS3 and NGP titles.
We’re also happy to confirm that the PlayStation Home E3 Virtual Booth is making a triumphant return! The virtual booth was visited by a lot of people last year (five times more people than physically attended E3 2010!), making it huge success for us and hopefully for you as well. If you visited the booth last year, you’ll remember that we enabled you to explore a virtual recreation of PlayStation’s E3 booth. Expect the same this year, with a few new surprises — including a 3D-rendered NGP to inspect from every angle.

Be sure to visit the E3 Booth in Home at the start of the show on Tuesday, June 7 at 12pm Pacific Time and earn exclusive virtual items as you visit the different areas in the virtual E3 booth. Once you unlock all the virtual items, you’ll be able to check out Home content in the VIP area and play the first level of Scribble Shooter – an upcoming top-down, shoot-em up game featuring hand-drawn enemies that is being designed to look as if you’re playing on a notepad — as well as a Heavy Water package with active virtual items. Why spend money on a plane ticket to LA when you can attend E3 right from your PS3?
Additionally, the PlayStation.Blog team will be streaming live game demonstrations straight from the show floor into PlayStation Home, so you won’t miss a single beat of all the excitement of E3. They’ll be scouring the show for any exciting new titles to show off, and you can watch it all within PlayStation Home. LIVE!

Yeah, but isnt it going to have limited places to watch E3 from your virtual character, right ? Because that is how other places in PlayStation Home works, there is only some places to do whatever you want (like playing bowling, for example) and they are quickly filled. Im not sure if you understood what i mean. If there’s a limited place to watch E3, I probably wont watch it.
So yeah what about all the people that are affected by the new item bug. So pretty much no one is gonna be getting these rewards then. I find it astonishing that this issue has not been resolved. I can’t even go into any spaces on Home that gives out rewards. WTG

I love the ability of downloading this years E3 2011 from PlayStation Store in full 1080p I enjoyed it last year still have it on my hard drive :)
Can’t wait to see all the good stuff.
I first went on HOME with my 1st PS3 back in Sep 2009… but it wasn’t until I saw a PULSE episode promoting the HOME E3 2010 virtual public space event that I TRULY became a HOME citizen!!! All I gotta say is… Woot!!!! Woot!!!!

Eh… I’d still rather be at E3 myself. Why buy a Plane Ticket!? I WISH I COULD BUY A PLANE TICKET AND BE AT E3! Its hands-on with everything NEW! PlayStation Home, you just watch trailers. Now, if you visited booths and those unlocked playable demo’s that are the same as what they can play their, at least you one step closer, but there’s NOTHING like being at E3 personally. It depress’ me every time I think about it. I’ll get a Press Pass to CES 2011 in Salt Lake this year though at least but, that’s still not E3.

Yeah Guys at Sony I hate to be a broken record, but is this why we don’t have the store back yet, you guys have been taking all your time creating this virtual E3? I think that millions of us would agree that we would much rather have the store back, cause it dont take much to run a live stream to your blog of the PS Press Conference, but the rest of the stuff could have been time spent bringing up the rest of the network. Its gonna be sweet to be able to do this stuff, but its honestly the only time I visit home, when E3 is going on. And to get around this I can just watch it on G4. So please guys, please, bring the store back like right now, so we can all quit complaining.

good things come in threes, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, and Modern Warfare 3. What If we are out of town though, and we can’t watch E3? Will it be recorded? Friend Sarge435 if you love Uncharted or Battlefield.

I would rather have in game music than this. which I have been asking for years. instead I get to listen to RAP music in home. what is up with all the RAP CRAP in home. HHG needs to be removed like other OS.

@146: well i’m sure u know it by now but the in game music is owned by microsoft. and it has no reason to make us happy on ps3. that’s why i dont own windows or office but i use them.
