Ok I see that. But notice it says “Targeting” . Not “yes we will”. It was an estimation and the way people are acting it’s no wonder they don’t want to give a date.
you sound like sony….cant say ya effed up…..thats cool. im used to it
yup they did say by the end of May , they also have told us by the end of the week before , im sorry but this is total BS, CoDBo was supposed to launch there expan packs on june 3 now i dont think that is going to happen. and im sick of being lied too oh by the end of this week or by the end of that month. your as bad as a prude chick who just drags you on
does “this week” mean by Saturday the 4th or does it mean by next Tuesday? We’ve gone this long so another few days isn’t going to kill any of us I dont think. Just hopefully you guys can keep the date. it’s very disappointing to defend my PS3 ownership to my xbox buddies and then come back and feel as if I’ve been lied to. Feels a bit like staying in a crappy relationship is all.
@Sh1nato
… If you do not have any idea what you are talking about, just keep it to yourself. You look like a massive tool…
please dont let the “week” be 1 month
I admit I missed that statement. I effed up. You win. Don’t get me wrong I want the store back up just as much as anyone. I’m just pointing out that you do not understand the meaning of words.
1st it was the end of the month (which is today)…now its gonna be the end of the week?..then whatcha gonna pull?..end of NEXT month?…cant blame me for my predictions about this..you’ve only broken dates so predictabley how many times before?
Sony is a LIE
I do have a massive tool. How’d you know?
they have missed “targets” before……but since its a target it doesnt count or matter right? its not a promise but im sure if yur girl offers ya a bj and then says wait a week then another? yeah……
I’ll believe it when i see it Sony!
Sony does not have a good track record when it comes to dates. Remember how many release dates GT5 had?
SMH, went from today now till the end of the week. In a way I believe them and in another I dont….
“For those asking about the PlayStation Store, we’re still targeting restoration of all services by the end of this month. Contrary to reports, the Store will not be publishing today.”
— From Sony Baloney
Ill be sure to let you know exactly what i think of you at e3
that almost made me mad as the store!!
SO SH1NATO, WHAT DAY DOES “BY THE END OF THE WEEK” MEAN? COME ON, TELL US, DO IT NOW, DEFEND A CORPORATION WHO IS YANKING OUR CHAINS, COME ON, DONT BE SCARED. ILL TELL YOU WHAT IT MEANS, TUESDAY, WE DONT WANT SONY EMPLOYEES HAVING TO UPDATE THE STORE 2 TIMES IN A WEEK, HOW WOULD JEFF AND GRACE BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT?
IN A WEEK WHAT ABOUT THE MAP PACK FOR COD SUPPOSE 2 BE RELEASE ON DA 3RD I THINK PUT THAT SHIIT ON TOMORROW
I feel so sorry for everyone who is so desperate for the Store to come back online that they’re seeing minor setbacks and date changes as outright lies and switching over to the Xbox 360. ATTENTION PEOPLE: That’s usually a sign that you spent WAY too much time playing video games. That and you have absolutely no patience what so ever. Take a chill pill guys. Networking can be some seriously complex stuff, especially when Sony has to get it working for 17 billion people. If they say the services will come back, they WILL come back. You could at least show a little gratitude that they’re actually taking the time to get it up this fast and not making us wait like, 6 months.
Also: SPELLING AND GRAMMAR. I know you’re not in school or at work right now, but writing a comment that has absolutely no punctuation and spelling mistakes everywhere gives the impression the comment was written by an illiterate six year old. Unless you are an illiterate six year old, please take the extra 5 seconds and write properly.
@doodooshorts
Never argue with idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with years of experience…
;P Thanks Sony. I’m your biggest fan >:D
For the record saying you have a target date really does mean an estimate. This gives the company a little leeway because anything can go wrong. And yes I can say this is true because I have worked for a large corporation and this is just another term used. They may have been expecting Japan to go live sooner and that’s why they gave the date.
Glad to hear that everythings goin back on, i cant wait till the end of this week, i have my 50$ PlayStation Store Card at the ready ;)
I THINK ITS ANOTHER BULLSHIIT NEXT THERE GONNA SAY WAIT ANOTHER WEEK AND THEN ANOTHER JUST LIKE THE DID WHEN THE PSN WAS DOWN THIS TIME THEY BETTER STICK WIT THERE WORD
@Sh1nato: Misrepresenting the timelines involved in this process has created this communications fiasco in the first place. An important part of working in this industry is not only being able to do the work, but to give realistic, milestoned timelines that can be adhered to. Frankly, I would be much more forgiving to Sony had they not pushed every single date they have given and offered a reasonable schedule to restore services in the first place. Speed is not the most important part of this process. Effective, precise communication to the public is.
FINALLY! Thank you Sony, all i gotta say is it’s about god damn time. :) But i have a very important question. When will the “Escalation” DLC for Black Ops come out? Please give me an answer.
CoD site used to say PC and PS3 now it just says PC, thanks now we got to wait to play as Freddy or Buffy (in my wifes case) on call of the dead!! this is whats is making me mad the fact that we are missing the things we have been waiting on and the fact they dont stick to any kind of ETA or even tell us one really shows that they heads of sony are ( insert random word here). if you cant keep a ETA DONT EVEN HINT AT ONE!!!
make believe. that it works
Don’t take what I say out of context. I want the store back up just as much as the rest of you. Be realistic. E3 is a few days away. Do you really think that Sony is going into E3 without completing the restoration. It would be a huge setback. Of course it will be back up. I have codes to redeem and free games to claim. And before you continue to judge me maybe you should find some of my previous posts. I’ve been on the customers sides through much of this. I’m the one who suggested to Sony that the people who own all the games and can prove that deserve to have their purchases refunded for the two highest amounts. You are all acting like a bunch of spoiled brats. I WANT IT NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW.
Also why are you so eager to spend more money on a company that you clearly don’t trust? Wanna answer that?
Acording to the bog about E3 Jeff stated they would tell us when they knew 100% when they had a date and this blog comes up several hours afterwards, makes you wonder how much was known.
wow sony, you’re lucky you’re not in the military, if you was and missed target date, thats the same as saying it’ll be back either before or on said date, than you’ld be either a. filling sand bags or ,b. burning poop in the middle of the desert, or both
I have to believe everyone who rushes to defend their sister, I mean sony, must not be spending their own hard earned cash. Probably spending mom and dad’s money and could care less. This is the real world people, where if you pay for something you get it. Not a bunch of estimates about when it will be available. If they can’t get the PS store working they shouldn’t be pimping games and things that need the store to activate or for DLC.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was looking forward to the Black Ops dlc, but with all the hacks and mods that the ps3 console is open to, and Sony not doing anything about it for years, I’m not sure any legitimate players can enjoy it.
It’s like no matter how big the problem or how popular the gaming franchise is, these dumb Sony executives just simply ignore them. Instead of fixing their security holes or working with Activision to ban hackers, they just let the criminal element do what they wanted with the games and ruining it for everyone else.
Sony needs to fire all their limp execs now!
@jakerondingo that statement just made my day! lol
With everyone using text messages and tweets is there any such thing as proper spelling and punctuation anymore. Everyone is pissed off about the store, not whether or not you can comprehend what they are saying, and it certainly isn’t anyones place to try to say that anyone on here plays too much video games, i mean you are on a video game console blog saying people play to many video games? Is that even possible. Everyone paid for their PS3 that gives them the right and ability to play games as much as they want, unless of course YOU are that illiterate six yr old, then you should be learning to read by six, instead of playing video games.
Sony, be careful!
there’s another threat coming :c!
DEAR JEFF RUBENSTEIN,
CAN YOU GIVE AN OUTLINE OF YOUR TYPICAL WORK DAY? YOU KNOW BEYOND SENDING SOMEONE ELSE TO GET YOU COFFEE AND CHECKING YOUR EMAILS, THAT YOU THINK COPYING AND PASTING A PR STATEMENT IS SUFFICIENT EXPLANATION AND COMMUNICATION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED NON-EFFORT TO YOUR COMMUNITY. ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT KEEPS PEOPLES FAITH INTO THEIR PS3 INVESTMENT.
SINCERELY,
EVERYONE
By the way the new maps for COD are pretty sweet. Not a big zombie player but the hotel level and convoy are awesome. Too bad no one with a PS3 will probably ever get the escalation pack. So sorry for your loss.
@midknight I really don’t think there is. I’ve seen adults using the same spelling as kids use. Yes I might spell a word or two wrong but the way my school taught us how to spell caused alot of issues. I have gotten better over the years with the constant corrections of my girlfriend.
Do you guys realize that Japan only came back online a few days ago? That was the Japanese Government holding that up. For all we know that could be the case with the store. All of you whiners probably don’t even care that Japan was offline for 2 weeks more. While you guys were all crying about playing online. They’ve had to wait while the rest of the world was treated different. How do the Japanese feel about that I wonder? And you wonder why the world hates Americans. It’s probably because you act like this.
I don’t see the big deal. Sony said it would try to bring the store back up by the end of the month. Now they are saying it will be up within a week. Their only a week off their estimated time, thats pretty good. Now if it isn’t up by at least monday, june 6 2011, then you all can be pissed. I know i will be. Other then that, thanks sony for the update. I hope you don’t let us down.
@944 I agree with you about the store coming up after Japan came online. It only makes sense because I’m sure they had to show all of the services could be trusted.
i got 10,000 waiting for you sony!!!!!$$$$$$$
@kidslayer1997
Well jeeze how much money you put in there? Your life salary? First it’s never a great idea to have a bunch of money in your wallet in the first place, and second, it’s not like it’s going anywhere anyway, I highly doubt Sony would get rid of your money you have in your PSN wallet right now. They will have it back this week and then it will all be sunshine rainbows kid, just take yoga, or meditate… breath in… breath out… :)
About time Sony yessssssss
@Sh1nato: I don’t want the Store to be restored right now. I want Sony’s internal and communication processes changed to reflect the severity of the situation they are in, rather than metaphorically moving the goalposts of their targets every time they miss one. This shows a lack of professionalism and respect to those of us who understand the number of variables involved. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for them to announce a delay a week in advance rather than on their target date.
@bigbaddoom I mean this isn’t a class room, and they sure as hell aren’t gonna be my teacher. Im probably older than half the people on this blog, and probably some of sonys emplyees. I just think its funny that right in the middle of everyone being pissed about the store someone has the gall to tell everyone to spell all the profanities right. Thats why Sony hasn’t put the store back up. They have to check our spelling tests.
