
Starting today, PlayStation Network and Qriocity account holders in the United States can begin the enrollment process for the identity theft protection program by visiting http://us.playstation.com/news/consumeralerts/identity-theft-protection/. We are also notifying customers of the enrollment landing page via email, which you will receive in your inbox this week.
As previously announced, Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Network Entertainment have made arrangements with Debix to offer the AllClear ID PLUS identity theft protection program to PlayStation Network and Qriocity customers who are concerned about identity theft following the criminal cyber attack on the network. AllClear ID PLUS is a premium identity protection service that uses advanced technology to deliver alerts to help protect you from identity theft. The service also provides identity theft insurance coverage and hands-on help from expert fraud investigators. Sony has arranged, at no charge to eligible PlayStation Network and Qriocity account holders, for twelve months of this service to be provided by Debix to those who choose to enroll.
In order to be eligible, account holders must be residents of the United States with active accounts as of April 20, 2011.
I submitted my email address to them but as of yet have not received the Activation code to enable the ID Theft. Has anyone received their code yet for the activation of the ID Theft? It has been almost 72hrs since I submitted my email address which is associated with my PSN account.

So I’m glad that I can play my games online. Been playing SOCOM 4 since the network came back online. S.O.C. Spec Ops Command, Looking for new clan members if interested. But besides all that the playstation store. I can’t wait for that to come back on. I’m not interested in the games and stuff just the avator’s and games I have already bought. Resident Evil 1,2, 3. Sonic 1,2. Love those games.
When will we be able to redeem your game codes and use the playstation store, is there even a tentative date?
@ the only claim PS has made is that THERE GOAL is to have services back bye end of month. But as you can see in the lack of responces there giving us its very doubtfully gonna happen. Theyve already missed a said deadline and still continue to leave us in the dark all we want is a post stating whats going on with there services. Instead they spend the past week posting about new games and demos and junk they have came out with yet with no OFFICIAL WORDS on any services except the gaming network.

Ok I forgot about the missed date on there my bad. However wasn’t that around the same time Japan told them no psn activation until they passed their tests?
According to recent posts bigbaddoom the PSN will be active for japan thailand and other east asian countries as of tommorow. This post was released as of a few hrs ago. But if this is true why are we having to wait till the supposed 31st date for the rest of services to come online. It couldnt have been that much of extreme efforts to fix what they had fixed for US and canadian users 2 weeks prior. Where is all this night and day working supposedly going? Couldnt just be to fix problems in east asia with them getting gaming online.
My money has always been since they announced it that once Japan came up they would release information that the store would be coming back up. I could be wrong on here. Yeah I know I’ve questioned the night and day myself as well. But we also have to remember they said they wanted to do testing which I’m sure included the Asian countries as well. To me it’s just all corporate hush hush, need to know basis stuff.
And yes I do think providing us with more information or just telling us, hey we can’t say anything until we are told we can type stuff comes down the pipe.
but it doesn’t help the situation with them not providing us with any information. No news is good news except with SONY however no news generally means they’ve been hacked again.

Your right it doesn’t help but missing a date caused them a problem which in turn they had to make a choice. Give another date or give an estimated date. With an estimated date that gives them time to do what they need/want to do. Corporations know how to work the people, more so if they are a really good one. I’m sure they know people are ticked off but alot of them have their hands tied. Remember they can only say what they are told. Yeah people don’t care about corp liablity but they do.
@big your words are sound and of logic. The thing that bothers me about it is that there not even giving us updates if things are actually moving forward in productions. The only statements they made was Contrary to recent posts the playstation store wont be up as of 24th. What kind of responce is that really. All there really doing by making that statement is making it look as either there not trying or something is really wrong which instills even more fear into people with funds on the PSN accounts and such. Then continuing to leave consumers in the dark. The world needs knowledge about things specially when it comes to a large section of users with money still remaining on there accounts. I didn’t put a large amount on my personal account becuase i didnt play most of there games. But for the rest of my families PSN account we have around 75 usd sitting there rotting when i could be using that money to buy games my kids can actually buy and play now.
I have money as well and was going to add more to get a game that the local GameStop doesn’t sell. It does bother me to a degree about being left in the dark. But having been a part of the keep your mouth shut until we tell you network I’m sitting by playing other games. From what I have heard the whole 24th thing was a rumor and Sony denied it. To be fair if it was meant to be and they meant it a more reasonable expliantion should have been given. If something is wrong, worse then we know keeping their mouths shut may be an act by their lawyers telling them to be hush hush about it. The last time I wrote to Sony asking them to post an update I got a copy/paste from the blog.
See thats another thing that pisses me off they wont even give you the respect to actually respond to you they just copy and paste a VERY UNCLEAR blog post. Where in the world is the customer appreciation in that. Its not like they dont have people there who do the email systems that dont have spare time to atually write a real reply to you.
If that is the case SONY should give me a job to answer there consumer emails cause id atleast properly respond to the user and spend my time to try get them the best answer they could recieve.

Thats not official for one.. There statement was there goal is to have it done bye end of the month. They never gave any official words on if true or not. Then seeing as they have that as a goal they should keep us up to date on if everything is moving forward as planned. Instead of waiting till the 31st to tell us theres a delay in it if there is one.
It bothers me as well because the same thing has happened quite a few times with Amazon except I swear some of their reps do it because they are part of an outsourced group and that’s what they normaly do. The customer service reps probably know what they are told and some big shot probably said to do the copy and past of the blog until more info is sent down the pipe. As customers we tend to forget that corporations don’t think the way we do and think they should. If more did there would be less frustration.
This is there official Post that says that about the 31st quote “For those asking about the PlayStation Store, we’re still targeting restoration of all services by the end of this month. Contrary to reports, the Store will not be publishing today.” As you can see in my quote there statement says that is there target date. Not a official yes or no on the 31st.
@big this is very true. But for that to happen people have to step and say somthing like hey this isnt right. This isnt how costumer service is done. I understand at times it can look as a better thing to just copy and paste a post but in real cicumstances they consumers would be less troublesome to them if they did things like they should properly be done. I have always loved SONY since i was like 5 but at times like these you really see what the big company is really about.
@921 Well if they are targeting for that date then there is an offshot chance it may not be up by then. I would find it funny if they had someone who knows nothing about corp lingo write that: “Well it maybe up by then or it may not be. Shoot we don’t know but hey it’s worth a shot. We can’t say the lawyers won’t let us.” If people want answers or to see about getting someone to post something they should email or call the company. At some point you may get your answer or you may not. Companies are fickle like that. But we do need answers I agree.
Let’s say for examply Sony has a programing glitch which would take 7 hours to repair give or take. They won’t say anything because they have a target date set up. Now a rep could still post a blog saying “Hey we still have a target date of the end of the month.” And to all those people who say they could have had the programing done by now, how do you know? With having to make changes to allow how many people to get free stuff?
Yes, programing changes can be hard and take time to get them to properly work. IMO the free stuff should be the least of there goals though. It should be towards the people who want to spend the funds they have already sent to the playstation. Or atleast keep those users up to date so they know there money isnt gonna just sit there and be a waste. If i wanted to put money on somthing but not be able to spend it id put it in a year long locked saving account where i can gain intrest and still know my money isnt just there to be leeched off of.
I understand that because I wanted to buy a couple of things right around the time the network came down. Plus I started using the cards because it was easier then getting intrest charges from my cc company. I would love to have seen games for free based off of a customers age range but then again you can lie about that.
yea, i think there customer service package is more then fair. Even though some other titles to choose from would be nice. It is just not right that we have to suffer over this when all i really want to do is spend the money on the games i promised my kids. Im not a rich guy so having to spend money i already basicly paid for just to get a game becuase i cant buy it with the money i already gave them yet. It gets unerving when u got 5 yr olds complaining in your ear cause daddy wont go spend another 50 bucks for a game he basicly already paid for. Its really quite sad having to disappoint your kids and break a promise ( which my word is everything to me) becuase we get 0 news on whats going on. If i had a news update on whats going on im sure my kids would bug me alot less. But seeing as i have no idea all i can say is “daddy is sorry i dont know when i can get your game”

Ouch that is not cool and I know kids don’t think the way adults do so hopefully it will come back up so they can play what they want. That reminds me a guy I know from the states moved to Germany and couldn’t change his country. I wonder if they will let him take from the US list.
I wouldnt see why not seeing as he originally was a US citizen. That would be like cutting off soldiers cause there in iran or iraq and the service is slightly diffrent there. Even though they are registered US citizens.

Identity Theft Protection seems like a very smart way to go IF, IF IF IF, you are in such a position as that you have thousands and thousands of dollars available through your line of credit and/or you have reason to believe that your possessions raise you to some sort of elevated “financial genius” of properties who has more than they need, and plenty to steal. Most of us struggle just to make ends meet, some are over-extended all across the board. I guess I’m a bit more humbled, and can’t imagine anyone wanting to be me.
The rest of you children need to S T F U and stop whining, the adults are busy working, and talking this thing out. Think before you speak… and be resourceful and informed before you hand your info to ANYBODY!!!

1up . com is saying the store may not be up on the 31st.. This information comes from an Atari tweet saying that one of their games do to release on the psn on the 31st has been pushed back. I feel like vomiting.

If you think about it adding new games on your reopen date if it is the 31st wouldn’t make sense. Think about all of the traffic they could get. If something goes down because of it then your really sol.

Look i saw this on G4 x-play and i have seen this online before. Now there is a new DLC for Dead Space 2 coming out on June 2nd ok Tuesday is the 31st now can you do the math. They said that the Store will be up by the end of the month Tuesday the 31st and new content will be out on June 2 as they are doing two updates a week. Now if im wrong then i hope everyone hangs SONY up on Cross.
NOTE: I saw this last night at 2am on x-play in the news line and it seems like it would be true as DEAD SPACE 2 would post there DLCs on the day that people want them and im sure SONY said yes to them.
