Starting today, PlayStation Network and Qriocity account holders in the United States can begin the enrollment process for the identity theft protection program by visiting http://us.playstation.com/news/consumeralerts/identity-theft-protection/. We are also notifying customers of the enrollment landing page via email, which you will receive in your inbox this week.
As previously announced, Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Network Entertainment have made arrangements with Debix to offer the AllClear ID PLUS identity theft protection program to PlayStation Network and Qriocity customers who are concerned about identity theft following the criminal cyber attack on the network. AllClear ID PLUS is a premium identity protection service that uses advanced technology to deliver alerts to help protect you from identity theft. The service also provides identity theft insurance coverage and hands-on help from expert fraud investigators. Sony has arranged, at no charge to eligible PlayStation Network and Qriocity account holders, for twelve months of this service to be provided by Debix to those who choose to enroll.
In order to be eligible, account holders must be residents of the United States with active accounts as of April 20, 2011.

Hey, everyone, I”ve missed the last couple days of this blog so I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this. I haven’t seen it in any blog but my Download List on my PSP has been active for the last several days. I never checked it before, but after seeing some people demanding their download list, I tried to figure out what that was. It’s not working on my PS3 (“…under maintenance.”) but on my PSP, it’s not only there but I downloaded games that I had bought or reserved well over a month ago. The “dates” by these games were all 5/19/2011. Can anyone else check their PSP and see? What could explain this?
To be clear, these were not previously downloaded by me. And, the usual several minutes of downloading and then installing ensued. I took this as a very hopeful sign.

That’s odd. Access your account though the internet and see if it’s in the list. My last one for my psp was back in early April. I was trying to see if it said how much was in my wallet.

There are too many people complaining about the store. Yes, okay, we get it. The store is down. We’re all upset. But whining about it isn’t going to help at all. Please be respectful to Sony. Also, @20, it’s not Sony’s fault any of this happened. Well, kind of. But not really. Ever heard of Anonymous? They take the credit for this. Those guys could probably hack the Pentagon if they tried. Please be kind to these guys who’ve been working their butts off for weeks now trying to get things back online. Anyways, thank you so much, Sony, for actually working towards a solution, rather than trolling around it and not getting anything done. Although having the store up would be nice, it’s obvious that the store takes more time to work on, and as long as it doesn’t go away forever, then I’m fine. As should everyone else. Identity Theft Protection seems like a very smart way to go IF, IF IF IF, you are in such a position as that you have thousands and thousands of dollars available through your line of credit and/or you have reason to believe that your possessions raise you to some sort of elevated “financial genius” of properties who has more than they need, and plenty to steal. Most of us struggle just to make ends meet, some are over-extended all across the board. I guess I’m a bit more humbled, and can’t imagine anyone wanting to be me.
The rest of you children need to S T F U and stop whining, the adults are busy working, and talking this thing out. Think before you speak… and be resourceful and informed before you hand your info to ANYBODY!!!

I think we are all really anxious to see the PSN Store get up and running, myself included but whining and complaining about it isn’t going to do anything to make the process go any faster. Sony knows more than anyone that it is in their best interest to get it up as soon as possible, but these things take time. They’ve been through hell this past month with this whole situation and despite it taking weeks to get online accessibility restored I really appreciate them doing it right the first time instead of jumping the gun and restoring access before everything was tested and secure. Thanks for providing the most enjoyable console I’ve ever played Sony, and keep up the good work!

Just out of curiosity, has it dawned on anyone at SCEA that Monday is Memorial Day? Maybe its just me, but everyone working at SCEA having Monday off might put a damper on getting the Store back up by Tuesday. I would think it would make more sense to bring the Store up tomorrow, because it has to be close to ready if there is only a partial day of work to be done on Tuesday to meet their own deadline. We already know that there isn’t anything being done on weekends, or so the blog would make it seem. So, Sony Computer Entertainment America is going to have a three day weekend, just like every other American company.
How close does the process have to be before some overtime starts getting paid to nail out the last few lines of code? It can’t be much if the plan is to have it up and running Tuesday.
So, I am sure if the Store does not make it up before Tuesday, there are going to be a lot of hateful gamers out there. This blog will blow up like an A-bomb when people realize that either; there is no possible way the store is going to be up Tuesday, or there is so little code left to write that it will be up Tuesday for the benefit of a 3 day weekend.
hmmm the 31st is just a few days off…and no update saying anything still to this day….keeping the silent approach is only gonna make this worse for you. and if ya dont hit the end of the month deadline.. lets just say the people that have stuck by waiting for you.. will probably jump ship. pretty sad when your own government denys you putting psn back online because they think it is still unsecure. @ djspinshouse4u – True Japan does not recognize Memorial Day, but there codes have to be applied and converted to English by employees at SCEA. So, the point remains that either there is so little code left to do that they can hammer it out in less than a day, or the store isn’t opening Tuesday.
Sony has multiple branches for converting to specific regions. We have SCEA. Canada has SCEC. Europe has SCEU. etc. etc. ad naseum. They are there specifically for the purpose of converting code to regional languages and specs.
I am remaining skeptically optimistic. I might even do a little happy dance if they make their deadline.

the japan blog is now reporting that Japan will be going back up throughout today. I expect that the store will be soon behind for the world. I’m pretty sure the store wasnt coming back until Japans Psn Returned. You guys prolly don’t even realize Japan has been offline this whole time.

If PS Store stays down longer than May 31st the new map pack for black ops (escalation) might come out much later than June 3rd because there is no date for when it will be out for ps3.

Playstation Store will not be up by the end of the month. Evidently, everyone has not learned yet that SONY LIES TO ITS CONSUMERS. All these little Sony Scrotums posting about people complaining and to trust SONY are probably the paid gamers that get to test sysytems and games and all that Jazz. Wonder why we haven’t heard any updates on the PS Store? Cause they haven’t thought of a good enough lie yet.
