Now that PlayStation Network is once again operational, a great many of you are once again enjoying playing games online. Of course, that’s only part of the Network’s offerings – and you’ve got some questions about how the downtime affected planned releases and online events. Here are answers to some of the more pressing queries:
Q: So what exactly is working right now?
A: Sign-in for PlayStation Network and Qriocity (including the resetting of passwords), online gameplay for PS3 and PSP, playback of rental video content on PS3 (if within rental period), Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity on PS3 (for current subscribers), access to services such as Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, and MLB.tv, “Friends” category on PS3 (including Friends List, Chat Functionality, Trophy Comparison, etc), in-game leaderboards, and PlayStation Home.Q: I’m having trouble changing my password/I forgot which email I used on my account/I used a fake email to set up my account.
A: Click here for a set of tips on resetting your password. If you’ve gone through the process and are waiting for an email from us, please note that the very large number of requests has caused certain ISPs to slow the rate at which recipients get emails from us. Please be patient as the systems work through the backlog.Q: The PlayStation Store hasn’t updated since April 19th. When can I download digital games that were planned to be released since then?
A: To date, three Tuesday publishes were missed, which included items like Under Siege and the MotorStorm Apocalypse demo. Rest assured that you won’t miss any of this great content. To catch up on the large amount of material, we’ll be publishing to the PlayStation Store multiple times per week once commerce functionality is restored. We will update the PlayStation.Blog with information on timing of the Store restoration, as well as the full list of new content as each publish occurs.Q: How will PlayStation Plus members be affected by the PSN downtime? A number of games/items were slated to go live or come down on April 26th.
A: We will be picking back up with the PlayStation Plus content calendar where we left off to ensure that you won’t miss out on anything.Q: Sucker Punch has indicated that they will extend the inFAMOUS 2 beta. Any details?

A: We have been in discussions with our friends at Treyarch, and they have ensured that all Call of Duty: Black Ops fans will get an extra Double XP event as soon as PSN comes back online. @Live_From_Dundee: You know, it could be from the massive amounts of people, worldwide, trying to update their system software, request password resets, perform password resets, and ALL GOING ONLINE at the same time. Even with PSN back up, I’d bet it’ll be a week or two before everything settles down and people go back into their normal routine. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

why does psn keep telling me that iam being signed out by another user using my user id i have already changed my password!
On another account I got the password reset e-mail and I clicked on the link, typed the code, clicked continue and then it says password reset request timed out. Why does it say that?

Hey… I changed my password and got the update for my ps3 but when I goto login it comes up and says (an error has occured and you have been sighned out of playstation network) then it gives me a error code (80710a06) please help

to everyone thinking the psn store will be back tomorrow, dont get your hopes up, it loved if it happened but they said the psn should be running fully by may 31st, i doubt everything would be restored 2-3 days after the online portion just came back 3 weeks and a half after the outage.
And trust me, I hope it is tomorrow, I could actually do some onlinegaming if it did, but I wont hold my breath, neither should you.

Forgot to add a “FAQ” concerning rolling blackout avaialability. i.e. I was able to log on yesterday and play for a while online, but yesterday evening I was once again “logged out of the PSN” and when I tried to sign in I got the “Psn is undergoing maintenance” response. FYI I am in VA.

yes great psn is back but all i get when trying to get on home after downloading the new update it says i have to have is error downloading content tried deleting home and reloading still the same so not very happy here

Hi, i got MW2 the day PSN was hacked and i was going to get a Map Pack. Is there any way i can download the DLC online or do i have to wait for PSN to be back up?

Sony! Please help me with this inconvenience that i have. I was having trouble signing in to my account the day psn started working, so i made this one. I’ve waited almost two days for my password change email, when I get it I try to change it, what do I get, “an email will be sent to you” or something, still haven’t got it, lemme’ guess hours till I get to change it? I’m angry now.

Eh, most of us replying here are kidding ourselves about the prospects of getting a reply to feedback. Observe that as of this writing there are 19 pages of replies, and Jeff seems to be the only person designated to respond, and (no surprise) he’s only responded to a small handful of the posts on pages 1 & 2.
Gee, you’d think that with a SNAFU of this magnitude, affecting 77+ million people, that more than one person would be assigned to reply on the blog.
I’ll be getting an Xbox 720 and not a PS4 after this debacle.
