Yes I too have this question:
Playstation Home is still not working, at least not for new users. It attempts to start up and then complains of a disconnection from the servers. It seems to be trying to reach the PSN Store for some reason, which could be the problem. Something that only occurs for new Home users?
When you say “existing” PSN members will receive the Welcome Back package, what do you mean? Existing at the time the package is available? Existing before the April 19th outage? I bought my PS3 on the first day of the outage, unaware that there WAS an outage. Because of the outage I wasn’t able to use my PS3 to play Portal 2 online on Steam, which was the whole reason I had purchased it in the first place. Seems like I ought to be in on at least some of the compensation. I sat on this site looking for news for 3 weeks just like everybody else…
I also own all the games they are offering. I think they should just offer credits instead cause i’m gettin screwed for spending money on their network. I have been patient and loyal and think that some compensation should be made. Hell I’d even be happy being reimbersed for what I spent on 2 of the games.
Who are you calling “stupid”?
seriously,anybody? or at least when will escalation come to ps3 or if its ever comming at all?
I would like to add my voice to the others who already own everything on the list. I know that this is a goodwill gesture on the part of Sony and they really don’t have to give us anything but it does seem unfair that some of us are getting the shaft. It would be nice to get an answer.
The store will likely take a bit longer,….I can easily understand that, being you know…where you use CREDIT CARDS…..getting a bit more checking and protecting than your gaming connection :)
So be calm….enjoy the fact you can at least now game online :D Just remind yourself what just happened and how it’ll suck if they rush it and next month it’s down for 4 months.
What? You honestly don’t think the hackers won’t try again against the new security ? Really?
Wow.
*High five back*
This is the worst welcome back package ever. Not interested in those games at all, especially after watching clips of them on youtube. I waited patiently for this service to come back online and from my point of view sony just gave me the finger. A store credit would be more appropriate considering some already own these games and some like me have no interest in them at all. The free + membership is to only attract non plus subscribers. This is like a crack dealer offering a taste for free hoping you all will come back for me later. Complete and utter joke here sony. Thanks for the month down, horrible PR during and after… Epic fail…….
Ok great but ne thing shouldn’t we get wipeout for free for the fact that the game will be included in the PSN plus? We shouldn’t have to be forced into getting possibly a bad game fury just to get wipeout which should have been free in the first place.
@Nikko47
i am having the same problem as u cant reset my other account so i had 2 create this 1
still waiting on e mail from 3 days ago

Hey Sony, I have a question for you.
It seems you are only using Sony titles you made. “Why not use any other games like for example “Split Second” for the welcome back program where we select two games to keep for free?
If they let us select any game, it would be better, as the options are quite limited. But I like the idea.
ha,its funny everyones waiting for uncharted or infamous but,(dont get me wrong i now those games are awesome),but i wait for white knight chronicles 2
@WarlockHCP
I agree with you sony actual does all the work and after that it works just fine but others….well you know
when do the ps3 shop open
I thought only eu players were getting free games…
I say giving us online store credit of the deemed amount = to the offer so we actually have a choice to pick is a great idea
Hopefully they will change it up and give us a bit more of a choice seeing as alot of people have already played/owned at least LittleBigPlanet and InFamous at least i have that means only 3 out of 5 choices are actually worth it.
Store Credit = Freedom
Preselected Choice = Illusion of Freedom
Just Saying
@4888 knight_arkadas
Agreed. Still there is quite a few of them and the fact that there’s any is a statement in itself.
holy crap this list is flooded
Personally i would rather be able to purchase older ps2/ps games or something of that nature
@Blossoming_Bud Yeah I agree, although I don’t have infamous or wipeout hd :D
@4881 & 4892
Do you SERIOUSLY think they should let us download the new Black Ops Map Pack for free? Get real. 1st off they would have to ask the people at Treyarch if they could. And 2nd the people over at Treyarch are multi-platform developers why should PS3 players of Black Ops get there Map Pack for free when everyone else has/had to pay for theirs? Just because PS3 owners couldn’t get there Black Ops fix doesn’t mean Treyarch should have to pay for it since it wasn’t their fault. Besides, were getting double xp to make up for missing it while the outage occurred. I think that’s a lot more then enough.
Thank you so much Sony, I think thst you should give us the new Black Op map pack now and or free,but still thank you guys so much :).
Blossoming….you are correct, it is the illusion of freedom…Just like the US offers me the pursuit of happiness… Not the actual happiness….
why dont they just let pick any 2 games for free; i mean people like different games
“Terribly sorry about hearing you had a tree fall on your car. By the way this has caused me to be a bit late, so …..well…..I think you should buy me lunch at BK.”
“Wait I was the first car in traffic behind this car….I want Outback!”
“Hey guys i just left got here…..but I ate lunch already…..so how about breakfast tomorrow?”
No really. It’s the same.
@4916
Oh look another moron that doesn’t understand that Treyarch doesn’t owe us anything
We should b getting the new map packs for free
im am just glad its back up on running
looks like the euro people are getting ratchet and clank quest for booty thats cool and we get super stardust hd
@4921
Wrong.
Im still happy the’re giving us somethong even if there old games;)
Funniest part is ppl don’t even know who owns the things they are demanding from Sony for free!
I mean really ppl. Sony doesn’t own the whole damned list of games.
Hey,
Just one question, Since we in India neither fall into SCEE, North America, Latin America or the Middle East, do we get any ‘Welcome Back’ offer? Cos’ to be fair we haven’t been able to access PSN as well, but then again, you would know that, wouldn’t you?….
Thanks
Does anybody know wen we r getting r double xp points?
@4888
@4911
If I read correctly it says CUSTOMER APPRECIATION PROGRAM!
Not because customers aprreciate playstation – they realize we appreciate them otherwise we would buy PS
+ CoMiN_4_uR_aZz – treyarch said it would most likely be this weekend
@4926
Wait…isn’t India IN the middle east? :o
this is just, wow. all these games for free plus ps plus? this is literally the most generous offer i’ve ever seen a company make. especially considering they don’t owe us anything because it was an outside attack. i love sony so friggin much!
ADD ME ON BLACK OPS People badboy21559
“this is just, wow. all these games for free plus ps plus? this is literally the most generous offer i’ve ever seen a company make. especially considering they don’t owe us anything because it was an outside attack. i love sony so friggin much!”
Um noooooo….. Not all, but a choice of two of them….
this is a very nice of Sony.
thank-you and i dont wanna say this but there were hundreds of calls to your people at sony who played socom FTB 1,2,3 and you told us its not a perfect world so how about giveing us our game back we loved FTB 2 but cheat devices ruined that game i would buy another psp again to play FTB2 if you wipe the leader boards and get rid of all the cheaters there used to be 10,000 + players a day all day every day
But I do Agree anything is better then nothing :) thanks again PS
Sony doesn’t owe us any thing maybe the ps plus subscribers you should be gratefull that you atleast get playstation plus if you already have all of those games.Its not sonys fault psn was down if you want to whine about getting this and that.Tell it to the lil hackers that stole alot of peoples credit cards…We all know that those games are cheap but atleast we got something just quit whining especialy infect since he has all the money in the world..
okay people, were happy it’s back and all! but seriously, lets just move on now stop acting like its a big deal! and stop being kiss asses lol just my opinion here.
thats weird i havent seen any of the first users that were commenting when this started like datastorm,lopez,iliketoast,B-real and cyb3r fr34k i readed their comments everytime and they just go
@4923

Your statement is pure idiotic. That clause from Thomas Jefferson was worded very specific for a reason. The RIGHT to the PURSUIT of happiness. I shouldn’t have to explain what that means.
I am really starting to hate some of you people.
1.) You did not lose a game during the outtage, so why are you entitled to a free one, let alone 2?
2.) PS+ users are being compensated with a 60 day extension.
3.)They are offering ID Theft protection for free, much better than Credit card protection.
4.)Pay for play online members are getting compensated w extensions.
5.)They are giving normal PSN users a chance at PSN +
Is it really so hard to understand that everything outside of compensating downtime and implementing ID Theft protection is at the expense and goodwill of Sony and a few other companies? That we are NOT entitled to.
