Now that some PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been restored and you’re once again enjoying online gaming and entertainment, we’re happy to provide details about the “Welcome Back” appreciation program for customers in North America. We developed the program as an expression of our gratitude for your patience, support and continued loyalty during the service outage. From all of us at PlayStation, thank you and welcome back!
This package will be made available to all existing registered PlayStation Network and Qriocity users in North America (US and Canada), and will be made available shortly after we have fully restored the service. More specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live.
All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

- LittleBigPlanet
- Super Stardust HD
- Wipeout HD + Fury
For PSP owners, you will be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.
- LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
- ModNation Racers
- Pursuit Force
- Killzone Liberation
- A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.
- 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.
- Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
- Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
- Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
- To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

Very nice Sony. I appreciate the “Welcome Back”, especially the 60 day extension for existing PS+ subscribers. 30 day extension is a no-brainer but the additional 30 days is very nice. The sense of entitlement on gaming forums and blogs is ridiculous these days so I hope you guys still know that there are still reasonable people out there that do appreciate all that you guys do and have done.

Xbox isnt even in Sony’s league. I have most of the systems and PS3 wins hands down , xbox360 i sold due to junk system.
I like the thought of Song giving us these free items… but, a-lot of theme aren’t… Well, they aren’t the most “popular” or “desired” video games out there. I’m not trying to sound ungrateful, because I really am..

WOW! Of course I like JUST bought these games! (both PS3 and PSP) Dang, that’s like $130 that I didn’t need to spend (the prices of the games when I bought them). Otherwise, I’d say that this was a smart move on Sony’s part! Give the people what they want for a free network service. A simple reimbursement, and, the consumer can choose (to some extent) what they want for their reimbursement. It’s a smart move for Sucker Punch to release InFamous as one of the free games to get the word out about InFamous 2 (June 7th). And PlayStation Plus. Please, sony, take your time getting things back up, cuz we’re getting properly reimbursed :D

@DerKapitan. I agree with you. People need to be happy with even getting something for free cause if I worked for sony I wodent give out nothing. I remember that almost everyone was saying that they didn’t want anything they just wanted to be able to play online. Now that we can play and sony is even giving out free stuff they complain. There just being little cry baby’s!.
I was a new ps3 customer a few weeks before the hackdown. I’ve never even heard of these games, besides Little Big Planet, which I own and love. Can someone tell me which ones are best? Or what they are about? Thanks.

I think what those who are complaining fail to realize is that they didn’t HAVE to give us anything. PSN is a free service. So it got hacked and information was stolen…that can happen to any business and anywhere you store personal information. GET OVER IT!
Yes – the free games offered through the PS+ service are only good as long as you maintain the subscription but still that’s 30 days to be able to play those games. And PS+ offers discounts on games – which you get to keep if you buy ’em – and if I’m correct the free themes & avatars offered through PS+ are able to be kept even if you don’t maintain the membership.
Bottom line is that there’s no possible way they could’ve pleased EVERYBODY. How about just being happy that things are getting back in order & that your able to get back online again?
Oh and If you have a hundred or so games – then you’re not exactly hurting for something new anyways are you? So it shouldn’t really affect you if you already have the free games being offered.

Maybe there should be a bit more options on the free games for people who already have all of the choices.
P.S. For some people it’s never good enough. These people do not deserve free network services, they shouldn’t even get a welcome back package.

I found a solution to the problem of already owning all of the PS3 titles. I just traded my blu-ray copies of Infamous and LBP at the game store for a $20 PSN card (the games were not worth $20 but he did me a favor.) I will now download those two games from the Welcome Back program plus I have $20 to do whatever I want with.
