  • bunch of spoiled little kids. im ashamed to even live in america, if this is how you all act.

  • I don’t have any of these games. Sweet

  • All I want to know is when the psn store will be back up.
I want to get the dlc for mortal kombat and the next map pack for black ops.
The welcome back stuff is cool, but useless if the store is down.
Also the trial version of mortal kombat is almost over.
Come tomorrow there will be noone online since all the free passes will expire by then.
Since you can’t go online without registering the online pass throught the psn store.

  • does the free downloads include all the DLC that one would other wise have to purchase in the store.? I noticed Super Stardust HD has 2 DLC @ a cost of $5 each. are those included in the download.? Sony.!! anybody their.??

  • Only one good game on the list, you let me down sony u suck

  • I would have expected a better selection. I bought Wipeout years ago, and I also have the opportunity to get it in PS+, now it is being recycled again.

Dead Nation won the Gamers Choice thing a month or so before the outage, and I bought it when it was discounted.

SSHD is, while good, very old, and many hardcore PS fans picked it up with it being the first game to include trophies.

And really, what big PS fan hasn’t played LBP or Infamous?

It’s a selection that is only good if you aren’t a big PS fan. For all the content that Sony publishes, I don’t see why more wasn’t included… Modnation Racers? Warhawk? Socom: Confrontation? Fat Princess? MAG?

Or how about DLC? Why not include add-ons for games like MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Warhawk, Resistance 2, or Killzone 2?

I don’t want to make it sound like I’m pounding my fists demanding compensation for the downtime, but I can’t help but feel that the gesture is kind of hollow when the biggest PS fans are basically being left out in the cold.

Just an option for an additional extra couple months of PS+ in place of the free games would have been nice.

  • Wow you guys sure do how to pick the games. All of them are good. A few very important questions about eligibility though. I own both a PS3 and a PSP. Do I get four games, two for PS3 and two for PSP, or do I have to choose? I hadn’t bought anything for the PSP off the store yet, though I have downloaded plenty of demos and bought UMD versions. Does not having bought anything from the store for the PSP disqualify my eligibility for the games? Anyways thanks for the free games Sony and thanks for the update Seybold.

  • Never heard about those game(i have Little big planet) but ima get the shooter

  • @BDKSimba id assume by the fact there is only one dlc listed (Fury addon for Wipeout) that no, no dlc is included.

again, I do not know for sure.

  • And now we see what our loyalty to Sony means in their eyes.

    Thanks Sony.

    Proud Psn+ subscriber since launch.

  • Amazing! awesome man, i take it mvc3 might be replaced, i barely have anyone to play great job sony once again and all those who play RES 5 MVC3, FEAR 2, naruto shippuden im ur girl! but back to the first thing i was going to say great job sony no matter what i still respect you!! :)

  • Ya, it’s not that americans want more idiot, it’s that with this list, some of us get absolutely NOTHING! And some of the less loyal ps people get all this free stuff…. it’s not fair, just give us all soemthing or give us all nothing… so far I get nothing…

  • Thanks Sony, I appreciate it

  • Old lame games.

  • How about voucher for whatever games we want instead of lame old games?
Bunch of BS for possible identity theft.

  • Yeah! Now, THIS is compensation!
But I wish I can just get 1500 Playstation Points. I want to download the Escalation map pack for free…

  • @1362
    there from the ps store..

  • It was more than just PSN being down. It was that all of our personal information was stolen! PSN being down wasn’t that big of a deal to me. I still had lots of games to play on PC and Xbox 360. But there is no getting my personal information back!

  • I won’t be happy till I have a full refund for my 1 month old playstation which has maybe 3 hours playtime on it. I got it for playing online with old friends when I took my vacation. Because of this, I completely wasted my 2 week vacation.

If someone paid for a PS3 just before or during PSN going down, then they should be able to return it for a FULL refund. I paid money for a working system and got something that did not work as advertised. That is called fraud in most states.

  • Thank you so much people at sony for your hard work we all really appreciate it!!!

but wow do people need to learn how to not be greedy, there were a ton of comments on almost all of the blog reports saying “oh wow, you guys really need to pull it together,” or “hurry it up sony,” and stuff like like i thought it was completely rude!! and also things like that one guy asking if we were going to get a welcome back gift, yes i appreciate it very, very much but i dont think we needed it at all. the guys at sony had already lost a lot of money and they were working extremely hard to get it back up and all we could think about was hurry up and what kind of gift do we get i hope its money.

  • PSN stor up when?

  • AWESOME

  • I have to say i was expecting a 10-15 dollar credit towards the playstation store on my account. This is vastly better. I already own and love Infamous but since I live in a small apt, I can now turn in my current copy for store credit. and my second choice LBP i dont have but would love to play. as for the others, they too are top notch and have recieved good reviews but are not my cup of tea. thanks for thew goodies,Sony.
    DG

  • By offering LBP do they mean the game of the year edition or the standard version with separate dlc?

  • Well, I appreciate the thought but I already own every single one of those games. Oh well, congrats to any and all who this works out for!

  • I just wanted to say thanks!! Above and beyond what I expected or needed. Good looking Sony!!!

  • I appreciate the efforts Sony. However, I noticed that a lot of people have said that they own all 5 of the PS3 games Sony is offering for free. I am one of those people as well and I was wondering, has anyone heard back about any alternative incentives for those of us who already have all 5 games? I was going to shoot Sony an email, but maybe some of you already beat me to it.

  • This is truly a welcome back gift worth receiving.

  • Hmmm. I wans’t expecting this much content. Thanks A Lot Sony. Now should be a good time to buy inFamous since I never played it. People told me its amazing.

  • And no, I do NOT have any interest in any of those games or the PSN+ service. I just want my hard earned cash back for something that doesn’t work as advertise.

  • you dont deserve anything. if you look at it that way. Sony doesnt owe you a thing. this was beyond their control.

you’re the type to sue because the cup labeled hot coffee, was hot and you burned yourself, huh?

  • Oh wow, what a surprise, I own EVERY LAST ONE OF THOSE TITLES ALREADY. Thanks for nothing!

  • Thank U Very much 2 Everybody that Helped Bring the Network back up. [DELETED] Geohot and those punk [DELETED] anonymous!

  • xster-c you pay nothing for sony’s online service…

  • they should know people own these games, I say go back to the drawing board with this one cause all those games are flagship games and have no value at the moment. dont be cheap now Sony, give us what we really want……….(two games of our choosing from the store) we should get that for all the trouble that happened.

  • what if we own ps3 and psp do when get free stuff for both

  • Oh well guess i be returning the 360 (used) at gamestop didn’t like the screw up controller plus 360 dudes dont know how to play

  • Awesome thank u PSN we have greatly missed your service my weekends have ben really boring!!!

  • Can I pick one for PSP and one for PS3 instead? Since other than inFAMOUS I have already own the others I wanted.

  • happy birthday to me.

  • People are suing over the psn being down? how pathetic.

  • All outstanding news. I was patient with Sony and I appreciate the effort they have given to keep us in the loop and the hard work to get this sucka back on line.
Now, not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but (you knew there was a “but” in there) are there any plans to arrange a “make good” for those of us that pay for MLB.TV and were unable to access it during the outage? (And I believe this also applies to folks that pay for NHL as well).

  • I have all those games except for Super Stardust HD. There MUST be a few more games you can offer to someone in my predicament? I AM a loyal customer after all…

  • so what your practially saying is, people who didnt pay money get to have the games listed there FOR FREE?!!?!?!!?! if thats the case, THATS [DELETED] AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • bballforlife4689

why can’t i access the playstation store?

  • I don’t know why everyone is so happy. I have Infamous and LBP and I checked the other games out online, and they SUCK! I would prefer if they gave us Gran Turismo Prologue, GTA 4, and COD MW2, MW4, or World At War.

  • It seems PSN credit would be a much more logical bonus. Credit is something that ALL PSN users can use, regardless of their purchase history. Sony customers that have already PAID IN FULL for most of these games are left with absolutely nothing. This “Welcome Back” package does nothing to compensate long-term customers. I have PAID IN FULL for ALL the games on the list. I’ve been a PS3 user since launch. Now, I’m left with nothing, whereas many PS3 users that have NOT owned the console as long as I have, or spent as much money on games as I have, are being rewarded far greater than I.

Nick Caplin (blog.eu.playsation.com) wrote: “The average metacritic rating for these games is over 84%, so these are high quality games.”

I appreciate the gesture, but as most of us know, “high quality” games that are well-reviewed sell quite a bit more than titles that aren’t. With such highly rated games, it seems like it would be very likely that a large portion of your user base will have several of these games.

  • @lothar36 thats on MLB or ESPN or whoever runs it. like netflix & hulu, its not owned by sony. and they wont be paying out anything free

  • This is gonna be so kick ass but i sorta feel sad for my friend that just bought infamous……
    but i haven’t!!!! ^~^ so i’m all good

  • Nick Caplin (blog.eu.playstation.com) wrote: “Unfortunately with a user base of 77m people, it is really hard to offer something for everyone.”

Not really. Offer PSN credit equivalent to the games.

You want to know why Sony will not do this? If Sony offered credit, rather than two select titles from a predetermined list, it would cost them a whole helluva lot more. Almost EVERY PSN subscriber would get about $20 in PSN credit. At 77 million subscribers, Sony would be giving away $1,540,000,000. By offering a predetermined list of 5 very popular games that much of their user base probably already owns, they cut down that number significantly.

Now, I am a Sony fan. I’ve owned all Sony home consoles. Over the years, I have owned numerous Sony products. I will continue to buy PS3 games, Sony 1st Party games and Sony products. I will continue to use the PSN and game online. I only wish Sony would do more for die-hard, long-term fans that have already shoveled out quite a bit of cash in support of their products and services.
