Now that some PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been restored and you’re once again enjoying online gaming and entertainment, we’re happy to provide details about the “Welcome Back” appreciation program for customers in North America. We developed the program as an expression of our gratitude for your patience, support and continued loyalty during the service outage. From all of us at PlayStation, thank you and welcome back!
This package will be made available to all existing registered PlayStation Network and Qriocity users in North America (US and Canada), and will be made available shortly after we have fully restored the service. More specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live.
All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

- LittleBigPlanet
- Super Stardust HD
- Wipeout HD + Fury
For PSP owners, you will be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.
- LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
- ModNation Racers
- Pursuit Force
- Killzone Liberation
- A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.
- 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.
- Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
- Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
- Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
- To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

What are all you people saying “Sony doesn’t owe us anything” that’s crap they know it, I know it, and the publishers know it but you people don’t. Stop saying crap like that and stop herding to these new (did I say new, I meant old worn games from over a year ago) I can’t believe this is all Sony is giving us. I will nto switch now because I’ve spent so much money on my PS3 (I gave it a 500 GB harddrive, plus, netflix, digital moviews and games, etc. ) so there is no point for me to switch to Xbox but honestly Sony you need to come up with something better if you expect customers to come back to you in the next console war. So far from what you’ve shown me I’m out. I hope all the sheep you’re herding give you enough money to keep you company.

Thanks for the free digital downloads that cost you nothing or next to nothing Sony, but how about an option for physical copies of the games with a full retail release(ala Little Big Planet, inFamous, etc) for those of us with lousy high speed internet connections who actually prefer a physical copy?
Hopefully I can skip the 30 days of free PSN+ too since the fact you don’t own anything you download from it once it expires is a crock.

The only good thing to come out of the outage has been that there’s less people griefing on some games, though the [DELETED] are coming back bit by bit.

Ive been a sony fan since my dad bought me my first playstation 1 when it first came out, i just wanna thank you sony for everything and i wanna ask you if you can just unlock the redeem code feature because i cant play my mortal kombat online without redeeming my kombat pass :/
Plus what the hell was up with my emails. I never received a single one from you guys. Give us something we will remember sony, give us a triple A title costing 60 bucks fro free. Just one game, doesn’t have to be black ops or brink or anything. But give us something to remember. The only thing I’m remembering about you right now is that you skimped money on security, you kept us in the dark even when you knew something was fishy, you’re giving out crappy kids games for free and expecting the sheep to herd to it, you’re releasing free items for a cheap 2nd life game, and you are the biggest ****************************************************************** in the universes (there’s nothing really in there I just held down the star key) C’mon Sony do something crazy and give fans a reason not only to stay with you but to step away from Xbox and come to the ps3……

And then I got WipeOut HD for joining plus which i already had. so I can have 3 digital copies of Wipeout HD, awesome, not. If the use has all 5 games we should get a store credit.

Maybe Sony should send all PSN users free NGP’s at launch…but you know what…that still wouldn’t be enough for most people. Sony makes a mistake, PSN goes down and everyone crucifies them. They try to make good with some freebies, and everyone crucifies them. Sony can’t win no matter what they do. The other company pretty much just says “oh well” when their paid service goes down…and the one time they did give something…it was crap.

Some of you really sound like you have no idea what identity theft is. You use it like it’s some huge issue where your life is going to be stolen from you and Sony must pay for it. Get real. Any credit card with a purchase that is reported as not being authorized by you will immediately be cancelled if you call and the money will be given back to you. It has happened twice to me. It’s not a huge deal and nothing comes of it but a new CC number. You guys again are the most pathetic idiots and I find it funny that these are the teenies playing the PS3. No wonder why so many people suck at gaming. It’s a bunch of idiots who think they are entitled to the entire world. ******* stupid fat Americans. Not proud to be a gamer when I come to this blog. I can only think that the people who run this blog hate their job very much.

What’s up with the 30-day limit? That’s BS. It should be a LIFETIME opportunity. My PS3 YLOD’d during the outage and it’s unlikely I’m going to be able to afford to get my PS3 fixed or replaced before the 30 days is up, even though the YLOD is due to a fault of Sony’s!

Pretty poor and limited compensation for a massive interruption and hassle and possible identity theft. I can’t wait to see the movies – probably Planet 51 and The Cable Guy. If this doesn’t change, Sony, I’m gone.

Seeing as how I own all the games listed (excluding WipeOut which I’ve tried and hated), I couldn’t care less about this offer. Two months of Plus tacked on, that’s cool, but I’ve gotten more than my money’s worth from the program already.

As much as I appreciate the sentiment, that’s a very small selection to pick from, and as many has pointed out, many people already own most of not all of those games. While it would be nice to have Infamous permanently installed on the hard drive, I would probably have enjoyed something that I didn’t already own even more. Maybe the selection could be expanded a little in the coming weeks until the store becomes available again?
To the poeple complaining of the selection of games…you are pathetic. They give you a great selection of games and you complain. If they gave you a crappy selection of games you would complain. they would give you a million dollars a piece you’d complain you should have gotten 2 million. the statement “you cant please everyone” sticks true to this arguement. glad you guys are onlya minority cause it seems majority here appreciate them giving such awesome games FOR FREE!!! yes FOR FREE. so grow up and grow a pair.

Wow, i can’t believe (well I can) how many people are still complaining…your getting something for FREE.
Its not like they owe anyone anything, so what if the PSN got Hacked (not saying its a good thing) and if you really give your information (CC) out so easily its kinda expected that someone will eventually find that information (CC), just buy PS cards and you won’t have to worry about theft, as for personal information, many people don’t exactly go around advertising their age, real name, and important data, at least I would hope not.

Please Patrick, could you answer this. My PS3 died during the intrusion. I don’t think I will be able to get it fixed before the 30 days are up that these games will be free (unless I read it wrong, and they will actually be available longer), as I don’t have the money because of falling on rough times. I REALLY want inFamous (I already own the other games offered). Is there anyway you guys could add it to my download list so I can get it when I’m able to either get my PS3 fixed or get a new one? Please answer.

Nice start. I wish there was more of a selection. I see a lot of people either owning these or running out of hard drive space. IMO we all should have gotten a free month of PLUS when it came out to try and get us interested. That’s not really a perk for me. I’d rather have PSN point. If you’d have Little Big Planet yet, snag it! Awesome game.
