  • Good Job Sony you have went through hacking problems security problems and you give us a huch package! I am definitly getting Dead Nation and Infamous

  • I ment huge package

  • woo hoo wtg

  • i appreciate all the stuff your giving away but can you please increase the game selection. For example, can you guys add other games like Uncharted Drakes fortune, or anything of the same value. Uncharted is the same value as Little big planet, and infamous so i dont think it would cause a bigger loss or anything. you know what im trying to say. so can you please add that game too. I would appreciate it much more and i know a lot of other people would too out there. I am stil grateful for what you are doing already and i know u did not have to this in the first place. so can you make this possible. if you cant it is still okay. You guys are doing your best and you guys are the best. Thanks for listening.

  • Yess! I I really look forward to getting 2 great games for free! Is this offer open yet? and if not when will it be? cuz I really don’t want to miss out.

  • i am a psp user so i get mod nation and little big planet i forgot doe little big planethave online co op

  • cool when is ps store comin back up?

  • Questions:

    1. I have a psp and a ps3 do I get two free games on each?

    2. My ps3 has two registered psn accounts, my cousins and mine, do each of us get to download 2 games each?

    3. Do I get to keep the games I download on playstation plus after my trial membership expires?

  • ok so me and my gf’s mom use the same ps3…so what im wondering is should me and her choose 1 game each or is it 2 games per psn account?

  • Have an odd situation. What happens if your PS3 bit the dust not that long ago and you do have an active PSN account… is there any way to take advantage of this offer and have the 2 of 5 PS3 games mailed/sent to you on disc!? I mean, if not, that really kind of bites… would be nice to at least get my hands on the two games so that when I either get my PS3 finally repaired or get a new one, I can have them to play, as it may be a bit more than 30, perhaps even 60 days before it’s fixed… due to this wonderful economy we all currently reside in. :-/

  • Sony,

I do not believe that this is adequate compensation for having our personal information compromised. Gamers like myself, who have grown up with and cherished video games, are on the fence. This feeble offer of old games does not entice me to log back on to the PSN. Additionally, the time limit implemented for the entirety of your incentive package is, quite frankly, offensive. Lest you forget, Sony, it took you a full week to even send an e-mail to let us know, “Hey, maybe you guys should change some passwords.” In light of this, these games seem like rather piss-poor compensation. The rest of the package seems like an extended demo with yet more time restrictions. I’m not crying for more free junk (because that’s what 30 days of Playstation Plus is, Sony: junk). I’m just not convinced that you are trustworthy. If, God forbid, you get hacked again, will you try to cover it up before letting us know? Will you take the network offline for a month with no update information at all? For gamers like me, a lame 30 day demo package with some outdated games is not enough to make me want to put my credit card information back on your network. Just sayin.

  • When will the PlayStationStore be back online? There is a classic game I would love for my PS3 and it will be the first purchase I have made in the store since I received my PS3. I have been waiting for you lot to get it back up and running and you have been doing a great job in trying to do so and as quickly as possible. I just really want to know when the store will be up and running again, if you guys at playstation could let me know I would be really greatful :)

  • I have a legitimate question to ask about the store. With all the people who are eager for the store to be up to get their free stuff, how will you control the traffic of the store? Because I foresee the store being shut down nearly as soon as it’s brought back up. Everyone who wants to download their free content will probably be doing it at once as soon as the store is up. You have to have some kind of system in place, to keep everyone from downloading at once. I’d hate for the store to go back up again and be taken down again because no one is patient enough to wait for their free stuff. Patrick stated in the above post that those interested will have 30 days to download the content once the store is up, but you know people aren’t going to want to wait. I and probably many other people would like an assurance, that all the people seeking their free content won’t bring down the store in the process, further delaying our access to content that was already delayed during the outage.

  • I already own all these games! Very disappointing… I’d rather have a PSN credit towards a game of my choice!

  • Anyone who owns all these games should just go cry in a corner and be quiet….and you acually own super stardust…? LOL

  • very good SONY thanks, im getting inFAMOUS and Dead Nation. please put the store back up :)

  • Fantastic. Now, lets make sure that on the release date of these games, you may want to find some way to appropriate downloadable content. In other words, you know everyone will be downloading these all at once the very second the release is announced. Imagine apocalypse and wal mart. Hectic.

  • Nice job Sony/Playstation! THis is a great welcome back gift although do you think we can get more popular and newer games and maybe some information on the games like the rating and what its about. That would be great.
Mainly because I own half those games.

  • I think the fair thing to do is increase the content list to at least 10 choices. After that if it’s shown that any individual owns all the games on that list then they should be refunded for the 2 highest purchases in their wallet. It’s pretty simple. Sony could check your download history for PSN titles. If you purchased any of the games on disk then you should get refunded for the 2 highest purchases for any PSN store titles you have downloaded. Looking at the trophy list wouldnt be fair to sony, because people could have rented those disks from Gamefly or some other rental agency. Trophys dont prove you “own” a game. I think increasing the list is the best way to go. Personally I’m happy with this initial selection because I do not own any of them, but I also believe that some players shouldn’t be left out. There info was stolen too. They deserve something. We believe in you Sony. Please don’t leave anyone in the cold here.

  • Aww I want Ratchet and Clank Quest for Booty from the Euro welcome back package

  • I wanted NCAA 2012 :(

  • Wouldn’t it have been better to offer an actual dollar amount for the free games instead of offering titles that many of us already own?! Sorry, but these little freebies don’t really make up for much. I don’t use the music system when I can use pandora, I get free movies off my TV so I don’t need that. I don’t go into Home anymore because everyone there acts like an angry teenager. So literally, you’re not giving me anything execpt the PlayStation Plus. Thanks I guess.

  • sony will my money still be in my account?

  • First off Sony, this wasn’t your fault but the misguided deed of hackers. It’s really cool that you are offering so much to so many, even double points weekend, wow!

I applaud you for taking the stand of protecting us instead of letting it go and when it all hit the fan come out with a statement that your so sorry for our loss, (A Microsoft tradition).

Great going and keep up the excellent work!

Proud owner of 2 Sony TV’s, Blu-Ray player, PS3, PSP, Cell Phone, original WalkMan Tape player that still plays and Camera. I love Sony, because it works!

  • P.S. For those crying about the free games, Sony didn’t have to offer anything.
Why are people acting like they’ve been robbed, because Sony isn’t giving away new games?
Sony owes us nothing, not even the free online community.
Do you think Microsoft would have done all Sony has done. for it’s “paying” customers?
Sony did all this and still keeps the community free.
Don’t protest too loudly people, Sony could be charging for all we get on the PSN.
They chose not to because in their minds and business ethic it’s the right thing to do.

Don’t bite the hand that feeds.

  • So, I own all the PS3 listed games am a PSN+ subsciber and have two of the PSP games. Is there something in this welcome back package for me? Except for the PSP games?

  • @6527
We are acting like we have been robbed because we HAVE been robbed. Our personal information (including credit card info) was snatched and is now floating around causing god knows what kind of nefarious trouble that we won’t know about until it’s too late. And we weren’t notified for quite some time, and didn’t get the full story for WEEKS. I am still skeptical we got the whole story, to be honest. If you feel your personal info is only worth the… what? $50-$100 they are compensating us with, I don’t know what to tell you.

And your advice of not biting the hand that feeds? Sony would do well to heed that advice themselves.

  • Let’s be realistic here. The only reason Sony is offering anything is to calm the masses. From their perspective it’s cheaper than a lawsuit. I’m very upset that my info and those of my family are now out there for sell to the highest bidder. I do feel there should be more choices on the list or at least an alternative of equal value, and I think Sony is doing the right thing by making these offers. However at the same time I believe they only do so at the behest of their lawyers and the consensus of the public. They are trying to keep this disaster as cheap as possible. I do not feel they should offer current titles as that would be silly. I’m less concerned with what free games make the list, and more concerned that 1 year of ID protection isn’t long enough. The info that was stolen probably won’t be active on the black market until next year sometime. Most likely after our free protection expires. This is an issue that is potentially life altering. I believe the lawsuits that are being executed will result in a verdict for the plaintiffs and I believe Sony feels this too. They should offer something better I will not change my stance on that.

  • Also to add. I do not think offering free money to your wallets is fair to Sony. They would most likely want you to spend that money on Sony made products. That idea alone kills any idea that money would be sent to your wallet. Other game studios shouldn’t gain sales from any free wallet money as they were not involved with the incident.

  • @6529 is right. To everyone who keeps on saying Sony owes us nothing you are wrong. They owe us everything as some of us may end up getting victimized in ways you don’t realize yet. When you lose your personal information like who knows what may happen, you may just get a visit at night from a man in a van……who also lives by the river…. but seriously the ID protection plan is good yes but inadequate as @6530-6531 points out. Hackers aren’t stupid (its why they hack cause they’re smarter than Sony’s out of date, hashed, circa 2007 security system ) In one year after the data protection plan times out I’m sure that’s when hackers will start brushing the dust off of the information they stole and start really doing damage. Sony is playing lackluster ball and not giving the community what we need (we want games yes….) but we NEED you to find those hackers bust some skulls and return with our data safe and sound….. But since that won’t happen give us something to really wet our appetites to make us stick around….. take of the white gloves with this kid crap

  • @6527 KentuckyRanger – You are 100% completely wrong about biting the hand that feeds. Sony isn’t some benevolent overlord. They are a corporation that WE AS CUSTOMERS feed. The issue here is that Sony wants to offer a nice incentive to welcome back their fans to PSN. That’s all well and good.

What’s NOT ACCEPTABLE about this action / compensation is that ONLY SOME CUSTOMERS are getting it. Sony is only offering this very nice welcome back package to SOME people, not to everyone who was affected by the hack, data theft, and downtime. Joe Blow down the street gets to help himself to 2 nice free games. I get nothing. That’s not fair and it’s not right. Don’t try to feed me this whacked out baloney about us kissing Sony’s diamond-encrusted feed for even bothering to compensate us.

  • Hey Sony, I want the playstation store to be up now. Please…..

  • @6533 Have all the games already? Then you get a free month of PS+ like it or not that’s what you get, now take it or leave it, it’s your choice.

  • Thank you Sony. This is exactly why I chose PS3 over XBOX 360. Excellent customer service! :)

  • As for the ungrateful peeps…just download two games you already have and take the disks to gamestop or something lol

  • Your “WELCOME BACK PACKAGE” is crap. I already own the majority of the games offered. Who wants an original PS game with the original graphics when we have the graphics we have today? I don’t use Qriocity, since i use Pandora. i don’t download movies to my system since i would rather have more game space and would rather own them on blue ray. i only have a 160gb system and have less than 50gb freespace. As for playstation plus you do not get to keep your games once the 30 day is up.. I will be calling about this, because it is extremely offending to me. I personally have contacted customer service to inform them about a flaw in the new security already, with not having to do the password e-mail confirmation for accounts not on the original system it was created on. Sony, you need to make the list of games offered better and more variety. As for your movie rental “weekend only,” that is absolute garbage. I’m a dedicated gamer. You should of thought of people like us.

  • Hello, I feel that Sony “welcome Back program” is great idea with a lot of flaws. Its truly above and beyond to allow PSN account holders to get two free games and movies titles. The only flaw I see is that I’ve been reading the fan websites around the internet and one common theme arises with the “welcome back program”, is that a lot of people already have the games mentioned. I, know what I am saying will be taken out of content as “we can’t please everyone”, or this guy is “complaining” and that is not my intention at all. I’ve been a longtime Sony PlayStation gamer from the original 1st batch system Sony PlayStation which I treat like a holy relic lol. I, would love to see Sony properly remedy this problem and not “band-aid” it so to speak. If this affected gamers than I think gamers should of been involved more so in the decision making process for the “welcome back program”.

  • I TOTALY AGREE WITH DRALKEN but not as strongly lmao

  • I loved the music unlmited until it went down but now I can’t get back on it, even though I’m able to login – when I try and upgrade it get this message…..

    You already have a subscription.
There are no plans available for you to purchase at this time.
To learn more about the music service, visit http://www.qriocity.com/support.

    Frustrating

  • What do you mean “ungrateful”? LOL! I think maybe you’ve misunderstood Sony’s intent here.

This is not Sony giving us a gift, for which we should be grateful or ungrateful. This is Sony being grateful or ungrateful for US giving THEM a gift. That’s why it’s called “customer appreciation”. Our gift is exactly what they want ($$$). It’s them who’s being ungrateful by only thanking SOME of their customers for that gift.

Better not yak about “ungrateful peeps” anymore or you might hurt your precious Sony’s feelings.

  • Oh well, I have none of the games mentioned :P

  • nice going sony i’m going for inFAMOUS and LittleBigPlanet
i’m also trying to tell someone that thinks these games aren’t any good to get them anyways!
glad to see PS+ so i can get heavy rain save of mine from friend

maybe for players to have all/most of the games there could me about the same wallet amount as 2 of the the games? per system? do any of the the games have same value?

If i get these game and have to delete for some reason could i get games again after the 30days?

  • @6542 I don’t have any of them either, but that’s not the point. The people who do have them are getting the short end of this. Sony is giving away titles that sold very well. They know what they’re doing. By giving away these titles they hope to cut down on any losses from sales. It’s like giving away Super Mario Brothers for free. Who cares most of the world owns it.

  • @6543 brings up an excellent point. What will happen to our downloadables if we have to change systems. I’m on PS3 #3. I would expect to be on another one at some point because this machine isn’t fail proof. If I go and dole out more money for a new PS3 I would hope I could re-download at no charge. I think that it would be in your DL history and that yes of course you can get it again.

  • I want the ps Store back please!

  • yes ..this is better then just a thanks for waiting msg… somethings better than nothan thumps up sony

  • i mean thumbs up :P

  • Great! i was thinking to buy LBP

  • yes sony you are doing a great job thanks :)
