We developed the program as an expression of our gratitude for your patience, support and continued loyalty during the service outage. From all of us at PlayStation, thank you and welcome back!
This package will be made available to all existing registered PlayStation Network and Qriocity users in North America (US and Canada), and will be made available shortly after we have fully restored the service. More specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live.
All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

For PSP owners, you will be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

- ModNation Racers
- Pursuit Force
- Killzone Liberation
- A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.
- 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.
- Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
- Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
- Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
- To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

@6122 they would probably risk breaking themselves if they let us choose. that’s why they are old games. they wont be losing as much money if they were new. and most people would have picked a new game.
Plus if there really a class action lawsuit and sony loses then im sure they will lose tons of money.

personally i feel a bit cheated. Number one i’m concerned about the fact that no deatails about the identity theft and credidt protection has come in my email. Secondly those titles aren’t one bit intersting to me. I prefer RPG’s. I’d rather have a credit to my account and be able to pick some games i actually want.
What about PSN users in Mexico? nothing for us?

yeah that is all good and stuff. but we bought our PlayStation the day it got shut down and we had to wait also. u no most all 2 player games have to be online so we didn’t really get to do anything on it let alone play together, i think its stupid only existing customers are getting this when we had to wait just as long as the other people did. it really just pisses me off to be honest. and we spent allot of money on it so i just thought id throw that out there because i don’t think its fair. i’m sure we aren’t the only ones that bought a system while it was down. although i have to say i love the online feature with games i think it’s better then Xbox. its still messed up tho that the offer is only for existing people, that is all im going to say. im glad its all sorted out though.
Cant we just have 30 or 50 bucks in cash on out account? only gose for ea ps3 so people dont have like 25 diff accounts with 50$.

Sony can’t give all 77 million users $50 in their wallet. It would cost them $3,850,000,000. Sure there aren’t really 77 million users because many people have multiple accounts, but still that is a huge chunk of change for them to shell out.
Earlier today I was in the process of a match on Call of Duty: Black Ops and was not only kicked out of the match but also alerted by my PS3 that I’ve Been Signed in at another location, afterwards Immediately changed my password again. In no more than 20 minutes later I was signed out and once again changed my password. Can someone please contact me or send me an email on what to do or what caused this because I am freaking out.

Great! But the problem is that is a very SHORT LIST.
2 Issues I have:
1) I have one of those games (Super Stardust HD), another I like and will get (Wipeout HD + FURY). But the other 3 are either childish or Mature rated (not my cup of tea). I feel I need to have another game of my choosing.
2) That takes care of me, but what about my 4 family members who are also very active PS3 customers / players.
We all get duped. Say we all wanted all 5 of those games, that only takes care of half my family ( 5 games for 5 people, we need another 5 different games to be equal to 2 each.)
Basically I think Playstation should give us 2 Free games of our choice (per person).
Most of the games are developed by Sony so they don’t loose money when we get them for free.
Or perhaps they could offer 2 free games that Sony developed. That would be fair. No stupid (short) list.

What’s up with the old freebies? Why not Mass Effect 2, Uncharted 2, MLB the Show, Dead Space 2, or other games that are sort of new? Sony claims to be sorry about the PSN drama, but what they are giving away makes me think otherwise.

I just wunt to say to every PSN user and those at SCEA (WELCOME BACK) we all missed playing online with frends and haveing access to all the other services provided by playstation. we all aperciate the hard work that went into geting us online, hopefully the PSN will be strong enoth to avert the past outage in the future. agine

And whoever keeps saying it is FREE online gaming doesn’t have a brain. We all paid for our games, we expect to play them… albiet online or console. For example, My family has Warhawk. It is made by Sony and a great game, but is an online only game. The whole time of the blackout I could not play a game that I paid for from Sony. So basically I expect something in return. Good effort, but not good enough on the game side.
P.S. I think you are right – whoever said that, “These games they offer are popular and most people already have them”. Smart by Sony to offer free what games you already have… huh? :)

I’m not impressed i’m sorry.. i own some of the games that are being given for free..the only thing i’m glad was that I get an extra 2 months to my already year and 3 month subscription. the free movies on weekends is cool for rainy days but i would have preferred the option to keep at least one or two movies that i’d like, or free downloads of dlc for some of the games i already own.At least throw in some free dynamic backgrounds. After the hassle we all went thur some of us are still gettin the short end of the stick..I honestly expected something better for saying sorry for messing up and putting ur personal info in harms way but hey that’s jus me..But definitely not impressed
I think that Sony did a good job in handling this entire mess and appreciate not being kept in the dark throughout the process. Despite any naysayers I think Sony handled this whole mess quite well and as quickly as possible and appreciate the free gifts…good idea…Smart Move! :)

I seriously hate seeing people complain about the free games. “Oh, these games are so old and useless, why can’t we have better games?” To RyanMcBainDOTcom especially, Mass Effect 2? Dead Space 2? Are you completely clueless? Releasing those games doesn’t hurt Sony, it hurts the video game developers. Sales would plummet if they gave away free games that are still being marketed. I’m amazed that they’re giving away such big titles at all, and people are complaining because they already have them or because they simply aren’t something you’re interested in? Not only staring a gift horse in the mouth, you’re trying to pull its teeth out. Sony made a huge gesture making popular titles available for free. If you have the hard disk already, download the digital copy and sell the game. There, Sony just literally gave you money in your pocket. That’s what I plan to do with Infamous. Just go play on a 360 and stop whining about how unfair it is to get something for free.
