Now that some PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been restored and you’re once again enjoying online gaming and entertainment, we’re happy to provide details about the “Welcome Back” appreciation program for customers in North America. We developed the program as an expression of our gratitude for your patience, support and continued loyalty during the service outage. From all of us at PlayStation, thank you and welcome back!

This package will be made available to all existing registered PlayStation Network and Qriocity users in North America (US and Canada), and will be made available shortly after we have fully restored the service. More specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live.

All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

  • Dead Nation
  • inFAMOUS
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Super Stardust HD
  • Wipeout HD + Fury

For PSP owners, you will be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

  • LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
  • ModNation Racers
  • Pursuit Force
  • Killzone Liberation
  • A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.
  • 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.
  • Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
  • Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
  • Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
  • To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

    Quick question,Please answer…
    the thing is that i bouth my ps3 in the U.S. also as my games, etc… and i live in tijuana crossing the border from San Diego, and i already made the update of firmware and change my password but it still tells me that the PSN is going under maintence. What should i do?

    Awesome Sony!!! PS3 Rocks!! I remember when 360 went down for 2 weeks back in 07. All they gave was a mini game called undertow.

    I am no expert, but I believe its more to do with copywright issues than anything else. SONY most likely had to get permission from the various developers of those titles to allow them to go up for free. Also, I doubt they can do DLC because they are mostly attached to disc based games. I seriously doubt SOYNY could have gotten disc based games for free.

    Trust me, I haven’t gameshare with nobody, but I lost 2 of my activations, I didn’t know that I had to deactivate it, I just lost 1 on a broken PS3 and the other one was lost because I sold my old PS3.

    why does everyone keep asking for the blackops dlc? first of all Sony would let you have it if they could, but it’s not their call. Besides there are more games than blackops out there. And believe it or not alot of them are better. I myself think FPS’s are getting really boring I’d much rather play batman arkham asylum, bayonetta, grand theft auto, la noire…… You know something that switches up the gameplay a little.

    JPMCH, the only people that complain about needing activations back are those that are out of activations. You’ve got 3 spare activations. Unless you’ve given those activations to friends, you have nothing to worry about.

    I think it’s great, of course you will have babies that think they deserve more! NO CREDIT CARD INFO was compromised, stop using that as an excuse to get free stuff! I guess with this way of thinking, I wanna free PS3 slim model!!lol. Stop whining they didnt have to give us s**t!

    @5149 ppl only want black ops dlc because those people have no life. Also, they do not diversify their gaming. The only games I have not playe yet are sports games.

    First off, thank you Sony for getting things back up, I’ve been patiently waiting for psn and am super excited that the store is almost here. I have only one question, what if we’ve already purchased all the games you’re now going to offer for free, can we opt for psn store credit instead. I don’t mean to be picky and it’d awesome that compensation is being offered but i feel a bit bummed that everyone else will be getting two new games when the store is back up and I’ll just be stuck with digital copies of games I’ve been playing for the last month anyways.

    I already own four of the five games, and have no interest in the fifth. I’m glad that PSN is sort of back online, but this “welcome back” games selection is a bit shortsighted considering how old they are, and how many of us already have most or all of them. How about PSN store credits for all instead?

    about a few old games that are low buget that I dont want..

    Guys, you have better reactions with this Welcome Back Programme Sony has offered. I’m from the UK, and most people in the EU Blog complain about the games included in the Programme.

    The Escalation map pack will not be released for free because only roughly a tenth of the Playstation community actually owns Black Ops…let alone plays it.
