We’re currently experiencing an extremely heavy load of password resets, and so we recently had to turn off services for approximately 30 minutes to clear the queue.
As such, a large number of people are attempting to change their passwords at the same time, it’s taking longer than expected for all those emails to clear all of the ISPs.
If you’ve requested your password reset, please give it a bit of time to reach your email. Thanks for your patience as we work to get everyone back online.

I guess I’m not the only one getting this 80710092 error when trying to sign in? I don’t know why I’m getting it since it seems tons of you are able to play just fine now online. Pretty weird :/

I am getting login errors. I was able to change my password last night with no problems. Now I get “An error has occurred. You have been signed out of the playstation network. (80710092).
Anyone else getting that too?
Sony did the best they could to get the services back online. No one has the right to complain about how long or whatever, because they don’t own a big company with millions of users and are not dealing with experienced hackers that leave no trail of who they are. I think Sony did a great job getting the system back online fast enough in this circumstances.

I got the same thing earlier. It may just be your system. I know you probably already tried this but just try turning your PS3 off for few seconds or maybe a half hour and try it again, i gave mine about 30 seconds, and when I turned it back on i was fine. Or it might be you ISP, that is where the most of my troubles come from. Well good luck i hope this helps.

@ 1616 its easier to swallow a big pill when you smash it up and put it in a glass of water, but its still a huge pill. thats a game a year for what? ive played xbox a lot, freind of mine used to have one before his 3rd dead console convinced him to switch (his first ps2 actually yellowed on him right away, he has the worst luck with electronics, lol). i really didnt notice anything special, XGC doesnt intrest me in the slightest, neither does DVD format, not having any exclusives, or that big a$$ controller with the f***ed up layout.
you may think its $X.XX a day, but its actually a game a year. NOT worth it.

@AUG209, If that comment is for me you need to think before you speak (rant) too. I don’t own an Xbox 360 and prefer Playstation 3 in every situation. If you look at the context I was actually defending the Playstation 3. Oh, and look at the “Comments” rules at the bottom of the page. You need to chill.
@1624 i think it’s because they were signed into this site before the outage happened and they never signed out or closed the page i myself was unable to log in either probably for the better i was kinda mad at the release date promises

when I try to log on the system states that I need to update my ps3 but when I say yes to updatig it keeps on stating that I have the latest version. The system won;t let me go any further. Keeps on kicking me out and stating the same thing over and over again not allowing me to log on. Any suggestions??
just two things I wanted to say then I am out for the night one when was the xbox live network down for 15 days I was a xbox live gamer for 6 years before I got a ps3 and became a psn gamer and two if you look back about 5 years ago this attack reminded me of the attack on myspace where hackers were steeling peoples accounts and spammed other people.

Psn was up but for some reason crysis 2 was out forever but if i would play black ops i played just fine so i poped my crysis disk back in bam can’t play multiplayer. the problem is so many people trying to get onto the same game at the same time is flooding out the servers which in turn creates lag, if you noticed black ops had horrible hit reg today. Its gonna take some time for psn to go back to before just be patient

Patrick Seybold, im confused you keep saying in order to change your password you have to have an e-mail sent, but when i turned on my ps3 it let me change my password right away with no e-mail and nothing was sent to my e-mail yet?

xbl isnt as good as people think it is. theyre servers are just as vulnerable as sonys were, they just didnt piss off the right people yet. it is NOT worth a game a year.
