We’re currently experiencing an extremely heavy load of password resets, and so we recently had to turn off services for approximately 30 minutes to clear the queue.
As such, a large number of people are attempting to change their passwords at the same time, it’s taking longer than expected for all those emails to clear all of the ISPs.

yea you you all turned the network back on, but I can’t even play online without getting booted from the game. It’s been doing this allday, what in the hell is wrong with it? It doesn’t matter what game I play online it kicks me the online game, Will you all please fix this? thank you……………….

@1153 If you do not like the fact that people want to be compensated, then you are not forced to make ill comments. For those who have nothing positive to say, be quiet. I feel compensation is due to those who pay more than the typical gamer. For us who pay for PS+ , plus pay to play DCUO. We are not asking for the 14cents a day but the time credited back. Wealthy or may I say stable people do not look to give money away but those who barely have it never seems to care. We are the ones who make promotional events a success. We are the ones who truly give real feedback on pilot programs on SELECT few know about. So for those average gamers, quit being a jerk with negative posts.

Awsome the Network is back up. But I have a q for sony. I thought u guys were getting rid of the hackers? Just got done playin mw2 And there’s still those a$$holes on there cheating. Having a chopper gunner come every 45 secs, Super fast speed, Hiding in walls, Invincibilty, unlimited ammo, and other bs. Its really starting to piss me off and I hope u will catch them and ban them from psn. It ruins the gameplay for others who wanna actually play and not just get crushed By these Stupid cheaters. I changed my password and logged in at 2:00 a.m. Sounds like a lot of people attempted to accomplish this during “peak hours”. I agree,this is not Sonys’ fault .They are to be commended for there rapid explanation of the resulting “traffic jam” and the detours necessary to around it. Well done Sony !!

and for the peeps havin probs, Sign in at the menu before u start ur game and try 2-3 times and it works. Then start ur game and play on-line. Works for me

3. those who switched to Xbox: WTF? seriously? do you not remember XBL having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM not too long ago? i remember having to listen to the same bull**** in december! this is not new and you should be more careful about handing out your CCI w/o thinking who could possibly have access to this kind of information. seriously, i wish you’d take a xbox game that you went out of your way to buy, cut it in half, and slit your wrist, preferably both.
What about the PSN store?! I remember I went out and got a 20$ Psn Card and I came back to buy the First Strike DLC and then it was down.. I want to get the DLC! So any news on the PSN store.. Oh and Btw it didn’t go down for me…? Anyone else.. or maybe I wasn’t on the 30 min it was down..
4. those working to fix all of PSN’s features: I cannot say thank you enough for your hard work and determination. what some people fail to see is that if the staff wants to get paid, they will work to the best of their abilities. they will not fail or it cuts their budgets back, which will harm their families. i believe that when all of PSN is back up and running, it will be greater than ever. i do applaud the fact that you even are gonna give a free month of PS+ to the users. that has to be a major cutback on the employees. again, i, as well as over half of the faithful PS users, are more than appreciative of the PSN as a whole. we are truly grateful for the hard work and expecting great things to come from you guys. take care and thank you

Im not being a jerk all im saying is everyone expects compensation like sony owes them. read the tos sony could shutdown tommorow and need to give u penny. I personnaly think its more of a kind gesture from sony.
I do aggree the people with subscription games need to be compensated for time lost .
