We’re currently experiencing an extremely heavy load of password resets, and so we recently had to turn off services for approximately 30 minutes to clear the queue.
As such, a large number of people are attempting to change their passwords at the same time, it’s taking longer than expected for all those emails to clear all of the ISPs.
If you’ve requested your password reset, please give it a bit of time to reach your email. Thanks for your patience as we work to get everyone back online.
@880 – they were able to leave comments becuz they never logged off, so they didnt encounter the issue of not being able to log in. This is wht a Sony phone rep told me.

This is ridiculous.. What did you guys change? The light bulbs? I mean you did not think you would have a surge when you turned the system back on? Seriously do you have tech school drop outs working for you or what. First you lose all my personal information, then you make me wait a FREAKING month while you make signifigant changes (YEAH RIGHT) to your system and now you can’t handle people changing their freaking passwords? Looks to me you blew smoke up our butts telling us how much you spent and you went and did it on the cheap AGAIN. This tells me that you really did not fix jack squat, and I am sure all of our personal information is still at risk. THIS IS A JOKE

@ALLIDFENSE i own all 3 competeing consoles, xbox sucks, wii is rather boring and limited and my ps3 is the poop, i missed online play, the reason im mad about anything is i cant go multiplayer on the other consoles for nothing, i cant help it xbox designed the contorller wrong, i cant help it if wii doesnt have many games…..i just wish sony would fix its problems and be done with it, before people are done with them

I just wanna say thank you patrick seybold and crew for doing what I personally allways knew you would. This is one diehard ps3 fan who is more than pleased with how you guys handled everything.
OK I am a little older at 40 than some of the other posters , but i am geeking out at how momentous this was. I feel bad for all the families who were most likely finanically impacted by this and for the families who partners had to work around the clock to make things work again. But we are a part of history as the world begins a change in the way we live , shop and play. Those responsable for this have upped the anty. The courts are going to have to look at new ways to handle this type of crime. For example if a charge can be placed on someone for every bad check they forge IE 10 forgeries equalls 10 charges , then for every person affected the person(s) could/should receive a charge. To all of Sony and any outside agency fantastic job. Thank you and your families, Heres to the Future and the DIGITAL AGE!!!!!!!

I like my ps3 a lot, but at some point you have to admit that there are problems with sony. They spend a lot of money and resources protecting their data and making sure they are safe and can not be pirated or anything, but leave their customers vulnerable. Also take a second to step back and understand that some of you are complaining that sony is awful cause they wont get system back up quick enough for you to throw more money at them…really?

Glad to see that I can finally log in. Don’t think I will be putting my new credit card info back on psn just yet but look forward to online gaming. I am sure the psn store will open as soon as possible since that’s Sony’s bread and butter.

Once the store is back up I can help support you through these tough times Sony. I never lost hope. In fact, I bought some new controllers, move nun-chuck, a few games and some PSN cards. The guy at the store thought I was crazy because the PSN was still down. XD I will never stop loving Playstation. LBP2 alone wins me over! (Hands down best game ever made because any game can be made with it… almost)

I will like to tell you that is unacceptable for an Enterprise like Sony to run the PSN without a Chief Security Officer in charge of the Security and Reporting everything about it to the leadership.
I hope the Board of Director ask for the resignation of all the executive leadership when the time is right after the whole investigation finished.
