This week’s track submissions were collectively the best I have had the pleasure of playing so far. IMHO this was an All-Star caliber week.

Mark drools (again): prob_alex has created back to back “Tracks of the Week”. Last week many including myself deemed his Battle of Port Duisburg track “epic” and it is. NOW what do I say?… this track is “epic’er”?, “epic-est”?, “post-epic”?. Thanks prob_alex, now I have to go out and buy a new thesaurus!

Let me illustrate my review of this track.

Me (approx. 6pm PST): Wifey, kids I’m home!
Fam: yea! How was work?
Me: Wait until you see the track I played today!

Honorable Mention: Shrines of the Jamaicans by BlackSamich

I had a really hard time not voting this a “Track of the Week”. BlackSamich obviously had a distinct vision in his mind with this design. I was still intrigued by the atmosphere he created with each proceeding lap. Nice job! Great track!

argggh.. everytime i read these monday blogs its like your taunting me with the ” we want to see more ” lines. id show you more if i could! we need more creation slots, id make a 2nd PSN account just to publish them but im not sure if thats allowed AND there is no way to transfer creations over with save data to a different account. only possible way is to publish something for a sec on the account i made it on and make it remixable then quickly try to be the first and only one to download it before i take it down from the main account which i think is a unnecessary annoyance. so yawp.. hopefully we get more creation slots someday.

dunno if it even matters or not but i wanted to throw some ideas to you people at UFG. it would niice if you guys added some game modes like a tactical score battle race type. everytime you shield a incomming weapon or hit someone with a weapon you get points for your yourself and or team, at the end of the race it tallys the scores and the team or player with the most points wins.

another crazy game mode would be a death race-race type. its almost like a normal race but theres infinite laps and everyone starts with a set amount of lives, last player or team standing wins(give some kind of reward after doing a lap like a item pod or 5k boost).

the obvious one, battle mode. to make this work smoother and make maps tracks work for this and racing is to make a ” battle mode tools ” in the track editor where you could place the 12 spawns for every player and also place the battle mode’s radius of field which would restrict where players could move on the map, you would have to stay inside a huge barrier lookin thing or something and are unable to leave. with the battle mode tools you could also put battle mode only props that appear ONLY when you choose battle mode for the race type, like item pods or ramps that only appear in battle mode. make it so you can do a timmed match to see who can get the most points in a set limit or everybody starts with a set amount of lives, teams or solo. the last game modes have been done before and can be easily put into the game, like the score battle from career mode where you compete for drift,spin,air points and stuff then theres the lap elimination race from the PSP where the dude in last place on every lap gets dropped out from the race.

Hmm at the backup your whole PS3 hard drive to backup creations advice, what about those of us that have installed custom harddrives (I have a 320GB version) that is a ridiculously unecessary hassle! Can you ask the UFG guys to take a look at the improvements that Media Molecule made with the original LBP? At first they saved user content the same way as MNR but patched in a code change to allow a seperate file for creations that was easy to backup on a USB device.

Just a suggestion…

the 4th and last part of my post, it was too long for one post and it stopped letting me post, probaly for the triple posting-

it would also be niice if we could overwrite published stuff to keep its stats, like littlebigplanet does. keep the downloadin thing though since it sucks how we can ONLY play littlebigplanet levels online, MM should let people download temporary lvls to play offline but are unable to mess with. i know its probaly impossible to do this with modnation racers as it is now and thats ohkay. in modnation racers 2 though, its something that is expected in there. anyway.. keep up the hard work UFG

Hooray. Just finish some xp racing. lol Still only level 28.5 Such a pain to get to 30 but…it’s better to be a pain than to be easy. Well it’s 2:30 am & I’m bored so here I am. Can’t wait till monday. So excited about upcoming news on here & Mortal Kombat (no offense). Both are amazing.

Really Hoping they give a date for some track dlc tomorrow… Need some now to keep me creating.. bcos i dont want to move on to lbp2. because i probaly would get addicted to it. so seriously hope theres dates tomorrow. :)

@64 – yep, me too, although I’ve got a couple of track ideas i’m eager to get working on, plus Motorstorm Apocalypse is out this week, so plenty to keep me busy the next few weeks :)
