Since popping our heads out of the sand to announce Journey at E3 this year, we have been deep in the throes of development. But now I’m peeking up again to see if any of you might be interested in giving us feedback on the game here in Los Angeles!
As you might already know, we have an extremely iterative development process, which means that although we are still building out the game, we like to get feedback from players early so we can incorporate it into the final version. This is a great opportunity to see the game as it progresses, and get a look behind the curtain of game development. Also, we’d love to have folks from this community help us! Here’s the info:
Evening of November 19th, 2010
Requirements to participate are:
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Be an active PSN game player. We want people who are familiar with PSN games, visit the Store, and download games as a part of their PlayStation life.
- Live in Los Angeles, and have reliable transportation to the playtest in Santa Monica.
In case you missed our E3 announcement, Journey is our latest game we’re working on with SCEA’s Santa Monica Studio, following flOw and Flower for PS3. With Journey we are taking a departure from our previous two games, introducing a human-like playable character, and a narrative that is much more like an adventure. All the while we are aiming to keep the emotion and beauty that our previous projects have become known for.
If you are interested and qualified, please send an email with your name, age, address, PSN ID, and contact number to journeyplaytest@gmail.com. If you are selected, you will receive an email with confirmation and the specific details.
Hey the title needs to be fixed. It says “Playtest thegamecompany” instead of “thatgamecompany.”
I am willing to test, loved the other games by tgc.
I want to participate, I live in the area and meet all the requirements.
Interesting…
Flow and Flower were great. I’m sure this game will be fun as well! Can’t wait.
Yes Please.
Requirements: “Live in Los Angeles”….. Can’t join :( but the game looks great.
That sounds really cool. I hope to see some more coverage about this.
ah well, i don’t live in LA. looks cool though.
Awesome. I fulfill all the requirements, but don’t get home from work til late. Hope to hear more info soon!
This sounds awesome. I live in LA and meet the other criteria.
Too bad you guys don’t have a studio up here in Vancouver where I could have tested it.
I know pretty much NOTHING about this game other than it’s 100% guaranteed that I’m going to buy it the day its released. The game looks absolutely gorgeous and I know thatgamecompany will put out a top quality game.
I’m rather curious what kind of narrative you’ll have and how much of it will still be a personal and unique experience for the gamer. It will be interesting to see how it turns out…
I actually have play test history, i used to QA for ATVI for 2 years. Would love to participate, as i also live in Santa Monica.
The game is looking fantastic. FlOw and Flower are great so I can imagine this game will be as well. :) I live in the Bay Area so I won’t be able to make the test unfortunately.
Same situation: Requirements: “Live in Los Angeles”….. Can’t join :( but the game looks great.
I fit all requirements and would love to be involved.

Is there an e-mail system for this sort of thing? Sounds cool.
I’d love to, I live 20 minutes from Santa Monica and I have a flexible schedule. Please consider me, thanks!
Can’t wait for this game.
Too bad I fit all the criteria except living in LA.
I can’t wait to play this, I feel bad for this post though, being pushed aside got GT5.

gah, damn I will be living in LA next year around this time but it’s too soon now!
Please, people who playtest this, be intelligent! This game needs to be masterful when released.
Could we please get some moving pictures from this game? I’m intruiged by the stills but my ADD wants motion…
Lucky people!
Looks pretty cool, looking forward to it.

This has a higher rating than the GT5 release date post. :) More games from this amazing developer!

This makes me wish I live in LA/Santa Monica
I wish that I qualified. This would be a dream come true. ):
Love you guys @ TGC, cannot wait to see what you do w/ this game!!
I really can’t wait for this game. Flower was such a great game and this looks even better.
Very excited to see the new game! Cant wait to hear reactions.
aw! I didnt read it fully, guess I wont get chosen since I dont live in LA :(
E-mail sent! I live right by Sony Pictures, and just a stones throw from Santa Monica, so it would be super convenient for me.
I can’t wait for this game. Wish I lived in LA… (only for this beta test!)
If you need feedback virtually, I’m more than willing! ;)
demo please for playstation plus members! :D
why can’t we have an electronical beta test? i have downloaded about 300 psn things, i have almost 30 ps3 psn games, and and own both flow and the most artful game of all time Flower. i would love to playtest, but i don’t live in la…
I really hope I get to play-test this game!
Here’s hoping that we finally get to see some gameplay of this. The screens are drool worthy, but they can only keep me hyped for so long.
If only I could help playtest, but I live on the other side of the world. Would it not be awesome to have somebody from the other side help out.
Awwwww nuts. The single most anticipated title for the PS3 and I’d have to make a 5 hour drive. I’ll have to pass…hopefully that doesn’t mean I’m a sucky and uncommitted fan. :(
What if I live -close- to Los Angeles? Oh screw it, I’ll just shoot you an e-mail
Why does the west coast always get everything… I have gotten quite tired of it…
I can’t playtest it, but I sure am looking forward to it.
Email has been sent! Super excited about the opportunity to test out Journey.
