The date is locked in: Gran Turismo 5 will go on sale throughout North America on Wednesday, November 24th.
That means you’ll be experiencing over 1,000 cars, including karts and select NASCAR cars, scores of tracks, the all-new Course Maker, a dynamic weather system, a robust online community, and everything else Gran Turismo 5 has to offer in less than two weeks.
Along with confirming the November 24th date, Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital Inc. had this to say:
Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Program! When we created the original Gran Turismo back in 1997, we wanted to set a completely new precedent for the racing genre. With the technological leap onto PlayStation 3, our objective with Gran Turismo 5 was to create another great revolution which would not only satisfy our own high expectations, but would meet or even exceed the anticipation of the fans. Satisfying the loyal Gran Turismo followers is at the heart of all of our efforts, which is why it was such a difficult decision to delay the release of the game, and one which we did not take lightly. I can only apologize to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed.
Don’t forget to pre-order Gran Turismo 5 if you haven’t already to ensure your copy day one and receive a voucher for one of five free downloadable cars with a custom Stealth Model skin.
We’ll have much more on Gran Turismo between now and launch, so please stay tuned to the PlayStation Blog and the official Gran Turismo site.
FINALLY Yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaa…thats my boyz Polyphony ooooooyeeeeah!!!
I called BS on the last and all the previous bogus release dates. This one is indeed bogus too. If only Sony & PD had gotten to work years ago instead of lying to us, censoring us, trying to belittle us with their petty trolling this game would have been long done by now. This is not the tin plated dictatorship of sony. You cannot manipulate us with lies & threats.
To make it obvious for even the dolts at sony I’ll spell it out as plain as possible:
YOU NEED US
WE DO NOT NEED YOU!
Having said that theres only 2 things required of you:
1) Stop lying to us
2) Stop with the censorship & Ad Hominem attacks.
I think Kazunori Yamauchi and Hideo Kojima should collaberate on a new project, entitled ‘GRAN TURISMO SOLID’ :
“Snake, hop into that Pagoni Zonda and make haste for Outer Heaven….and please drive safe…
…………………………………………………………………………..Snake?….Snaaaaaaaaaaakkkke?!
:D
Can’t wait! Dammit, these next couple of days need to fly by quickly.
WELL IT’S ABOUT TIME.HOPEFULLY THEY WONT CHANGE THE DATE.SEE YA’LL ON THE RACE TRACK.
Sweet, now the people wasting their time yelling GT5 can actually just go play it.
Polyphony digital should make a silly driving game. Like Need for Speed or Mod Nation Racers for example.
I have a very important question to ask;
Is the YouTube Replay Uploading Feature still in the game? We GT fan really need to know.
Thanks!
:) time to preorder and right b4 thanksgiving yes
Great, great, great news! Lovin’ it!

GAME OF THE YEAR!
Can’t wait!
Hahahaahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
back in 1999 a friend brought over his playstation and gran turismo. i have been playing both ever since . can’t wait for this one (: HOMELINGS ROCK!!!
ITS FINALLY BEING RELEASED, THATS GOOD, NO MORE DELAYES FOR GT5.BUT SONY AND P.D. SHOULD LET US KNOW IF THEY ARE PLANNING A SEQUEL FOR TOURIST TROPHY THAT WOULD BE EXCITING ASWELL HAVING BOTH “THE REAL DRIVING & THE REAL RIDING SIMULATOR”.
Thank you Sony for the great news. I really hope nothing else goes wrong that might delay it again.
How about making available on the PSN the latest GT5 Demo that’s been out in stores for the last couple of weeks. That might calm the angry hoards until the release date. Pleeeeeeease! :)
Whoo!
I will believe it when I have the game in my hands, and I am hugging the box… but considering that they cancelled more than 2 weeks before the 2nd November release, and that there are only 10 days left for the new release date on the 24th of November, and that games usually need nearly 2 weeks to burn disks, this seems to be the real deal… still CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!
Will be a buy for me.
The car list don’t include so many legend car’s i don’t know why..
I’m talking about Volkswagen Polo G40, Volkswagen Corrado G60, MG Metro and other’s..
YAYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! finally!!!!!!!! I was about to die from anticipation but it’s all OK now!!!!!!!!! :DDD
AMEN !!!!!TO SWEET BABY JESUS
I just want to say:”Hey SCE, listen. Redbull just has the F1 Constructors’ Championship and Drivers’ Championship in their pocket. I hope the guys in your marketing department would capture this chance and exploit the heck out of it. This is really one of a kind opportunity since GT5 has some quite significant presence of the Redbull team and Vettel himself”
Had my GT5 Collector’s Edition preordered for months now. I CAN’T WAIT ‘TIL Nov 24th! Now I just need to prepare for the lack of sleep after it comes out.
@ iComet
You forgot about being able to transfer your GT5 Prologue and GT PSP progress and garage to the full game.
YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’M HAPPY AND SHUFFLING UNTIL I’M TOTAL FREAK OUT!!!!! WAHOOOOO!!!
(Jay-Z Voice)We don’t believe you …you need more people
Why can’t we change wheels on standard cars? Why?
This hugely disapoints me and most of all the other the GT fans. I think we deserve some kind of explanation before we eventually go and buy the game. I have all the other games in the series and am a huge fan – but why this step backwards. I don’t understand.
FINALLY!!!! Ages of awaiting it’s almost end.
OMG hmm well no not omg the game took the piss im still pissed off about it
seen a fair few videos over on gt planet…. these videos give the impression that various features are broken, or not quite up to what was seen in the most recent demo builds.
is there going to be a patch on or near release day to amend these niggles?
It had been said in various interviews over 100 tracks, it appears there are only 20 odd tracks with about 4/5 variations of each.
it was always say all cars and racks from previous gt titles…where are these?
I feel an explanation is needed. If this isnt going to be the game we were promised as an avid gt gamer. i wont be putting the cash down for the full fledged signature edition, afer all its the gt fanbase that bought 60 million copies worldwide.
well I’m damn happy, wish you all happiness ‘n long life, thanks for all, finally GT5 for real
why is it that it took 2 to 3 more weeks for its release? And why wastnt the 2nd of November good for it?
Yahoooooo. Here came the race day. I already wait this game long time. YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
what about south america??
holy wow
Just another BIG thank you!!!!
I won with subway and got it in the mail today. One day early!!!
