Yes, the Killzone 3 Public Beta Trial really is coming! Just like its predecessor, the multiplayer mode for Killzone 3 will be put through rigorous testing at the hands of the toughest, most demanding critics in existence: you, the fans. The Trial starts on October 25th and access is limited to 5,000 U.S. Plus subscribers, so please read the following instructions carefully if you want to know how to secure a spot in the Public Beta:
- Be(come) a Plus subscriber
- With the exception of a handful of key media partners and selected PAX feedback participants, access to the Killzone 3 Public Beta Trial is limited to PlayStation Plus subscribers. If you’re not enjoying the many benefits of Plus membership yet, now’s the time to sign up!
- Download the theme
- On October 19th, an exclusive Killzone 3 XMB Theme will appear in the Plus section of the PlayStation Store. The first 10,000 Plus subscribers to download this theme (5,000 U.S. Plus subscribers and 5,000 European Plus subscribers) will receive access to the Public Beta Trial.
- Check your email
- After you’ve downloaded the Killzone 3 XMB Theme, you will receive an email on Oct. 25th containing the Public Beta Trial promotion code and further instructions through the address you registered as your PSN Sign-In ID. Make sure you’ve set your notification preferences to accept emails from SCE, or we won’t be able to contact you.
Those of you who make it into the Public Beta Trial are expected to provide honest gameplay feedback, report bugs and glitches, and help test our network code in real-world scenarios. In short, we’re counting on you to help us improve Killzone 3! In return you’ll get a good taste of the multiplayer mode, including its brand-new Operations game type, party system, and jetpack and exoskeleton vehicles.
And if that doesn’t convince you to take a shot at the Public Beta Trial, maybe this new trailer will:
@all the peeps being crazy about the ps plus, couple things
1.when they annouced it at e3 they said you’d would Get “access” to betas and such. /So their’s no trickery here.
2. people talking about 50-60$ do subscribe, you can also become a psn plus member for 17$ for 3 months, so stop making excuses.
i have the 3 month, and it’s paid for it’s self day one.
bottom line, how much do you really want that beta?
all the ps plus members, GL, See you on the battlefield!!
LOL@ wolverines… entitled? LMFAO! Let me get some popcorn, the show is just starting…
Will it be on the store update on Tuesday the 19th? I live in Idaho and I have noticed our Store update comes in a little late. Will this be a simulataneous update so that it’s fair to everyone? This Beta is why I even have Plus. The added benefits of Plus were very surprising and I already got my moneys worth.
cool very cool. so happy. love kz and i hope i will get in on this action
they will let anyone in by either pre order or another way about 1-2 weeks later.they always do that watch.
At least this beta won’t have random people getting invited and ignore the PS+ users. I’ve had PS+ since day 1 and I haven’t been invited to a single beta when beta access was promised from the start. I’m sure it’ll be pretty easy to get into the beta if all you have to do is be in the first 10,000 to download the theme.
Thanks GG for having clear guidelines on what will actually get you into the beta instead of having a random drawing like everybody else.
When will the store update that day? I hope it’s the same time since I have work in the morning. Thanks.
@38 Sony throws out lies like Microsoft throws out consoles.
This is total BS. Im a + member since day one but i have to take the day off from work to be able to be part of the 10000 other + members that download the KZ3 PS3 theme first just to be accepted into the beta.
So whats the point of being a + member if i have to pay $50 a year for demos and betas and then having to jump through more hoops just to get what Sony promised?
This is the dumbest beta announcement i have ever heard, because it will be impossible for some to meet all 3 requirement, impossible!
Whoever thought of this should be fired, this is complete fail, i wont be renewing my + membership next year.
Using “exclusive beta access” as a selling point for Playstation Plus and then offering the betas to “select” PS+ subscribers is B.S. Couple that with the fact that it seems the store refreshes at different times for certain areas and you are leaving a lot of people who forked over their hard earned cash for PS+ out in the dark.
Playstation Plus is a joke, but I should have known better when I paid for it.
@54 Ive been a member since day 1 and still havent gotten a beta yet either.
I’m not a plus subscriber and I work 40+ hours a week… yet I’m a big KZ fan. Guess that doesn’t allow me to get into the beta.
What time will this theme being going live? I don’t want to miss out simply because I’m not home from work yet :(
Some articles on the net say the theme will go live on Oct. 14th. This article says Oct. 19th. Just making sure WHICH DATE IS CORRECT?
Good question! SCEE: 13th of October. SCEA on the 19th!
