  • DEAD NATION BETA CODE WANTERS: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR ACCOUNT OPTING IN FOR PROMOTIONAL EMAILS.

Make sure you only get the protection plan if you are still within your original warranty (or 30 days for PSP). Seriously, don’t just buy it thinking you’re all of a sudden protected. Look at the terms first.

  • Wow…no Vagrant Story again this week :( So why no Vagrant Stroy love for North America when Europe got it LAST YEAR???

  • No PS1 classics again =(

Hasn’t been any worth buying since Grandia.

  • i want shank but dont feel its worth 15 i bought joe danger and it wasnt as i expected also want deathspank but 15 dollar psn games are pricey for me

  • My brother signed up for PSN Plus right out of the gate (1 year) thinking he would benefit from being a member, however he was greatly disappointed. I would describe him as a heavy PSN Store user as he spends a ridiculous amount of money at the PlayStation Store. He’s not seeing the benefit of being a member as he owns most of the content currently being released for free, as well as the content that’s been discounted. The PSN Plus subscription *at this point* hasn’t proved a good investment for him.

I’m just the opposite. I never spent dime one on the PSN Store before signing up for PSN Plus membership (joined 8/21) thus I never owned the content being released for free or at a discounted price. I’m happy as I have already received nearly $30 in savings for $17.99 and it’s only been a few days.

I can empathize with my brother’s frustration. I’m sure they will take into account the complaints from their heavy/veteran PSN Store users as the Plus service is relatively new and Sony trying to find their footing. I will say that I envision a more substantial application of the discount applied to newer titles or some more tangible benefit. If not they may see their PSN Plus subscriptions bottleneck.

  • How did Shank have eleven 5-star ratings within minutes of being released? How is that rating system supposed to be helpful to people if it’s just being abused?

Why is the free PSN game for PS+ members a game that PS+ members just had a half-price sale on a month or so ago and thus already own or don’t care about? That’s kindergarten marketing. No one’s going to be happy about that. Either they already have the game (got it on sale) and thus get nothing free this month, or they already passed on it (on sale) and thus don’t care about it.

  • Why did you guys make the U.S wait a month after the japanese to get the Naruto demo, and then give us the same exact one

    What a failure.

  • With my birthday less than a week away, ill be happily playing the Demo for SHANK… Good they got a trail version out. As soon as I get those PSN Birthday Cards I’ll be indulging in SHANK and hopefully I could then finally buy Scott Pilgrim. I tired of running the same level back and forth.

  • Why is Playstation Store national and not international?
I’m French but I’m not really interested in what’s on the playstation store in France, you can’t even download any TV shows just movies.
Is there any way I can get access to the US playstation store?

  • For all the normal people who don’t complain, if you want to have fun with the pathetic, immature babies that cry on here every single day, read their comments in a Napoleon Dynamite voice. It’s great. Works everytime. I hope they do this in the Sony office too. They really have to just sit back and read these and think you people are the worst scum of the earth.

    “Where’s Castle Crashers?? GOSH…I swear I want a refund…jerk.”

  • @BrianMcGuinness
    your two grain of salt…

  • @195 – That is nonsense. I have PS+ and have the marketing emails sent all the time to me but NO Dead Nation Beta. I also have the ‘share information with third parties’ ticked.

  • Sony… Your not making your case for Playstation Plus. I don’t want to give you $50 so that you can offer me discounts on pre-chosen games. Just like Qore, the rewards are thin. Free content is great, but its got to be worth it. Sure the “value” of the content you are providing may add up, but what Playstation Plus subscribers actually download and enjoy probably doesn’t match up with that “value”.

Point in short: If you want me (and others like me) to sign up for Playstation Plus, you’re really going to have to hit the nail every month for a while.

As it is I’m not planning on renewing my Qore Annual Subscription.

  • That sucks, I wanted to try out MAG

  • Adding 3d support to a chunk of a game and selling that chunk. Weird!

  • Another week with ZERO reason to buy Plus. Stop giving us free games THAT WE ALREADY BOUGHT! How about offering that episodic horror game for free, starts with an S. Or how about free Tekkken 5? Hmm?

  • Wow you already have all those games. You must have money to burn. I have been lucky I guess because I have only had 1 game so far that they have offered. So I am happy with the plus update and updates. Keep them coming

  • I generally invest my money into longer non-downloadable games. I do have several psn games but I have always wanted more but couldn’t stomach spending so much. I love the plus plan because people like me get alot of games for 3 something a month on the 15 month.

  • No support for the Psp go
PSN+ is horrible not changing anyones opinion of live.
PlayStation 3 is continually the most expensive console to get the same thats on the 360

Its getting harder and harder to support you exclusively. Sony has always been my first choice for gaming. The decisions youve made are going to put you to the ground.
Removal of other OS, Taking PS2 backwards compatibilltity.

  • I’m one of those people that always envied the stuff on PSN but couldn’t afford to buy them. I got PLUS, and I benefited from their discounts and Free stuff. However, I notice the free stuff is from a year ago. Are all the free things going to be outdated games that many of us may have purchased already? Are you going to release Shank as a free download in 2011 fall when many of your subscribers may already have it? I’m trying to understand the logic here.

  • what i think about ps+ is that its a little more money than u think it is. first you have to buy a 50$ psn card for only 2 months of ps+ because its 19.99$ oh u cant forget the tax so u are spending way over 20$ for 3 months and u are probably only gonna get 3 free 1.99$ games to 9.99$ games and a few discounted games. i think the psn should have a points system like xbox live. but i think soon the people who run ps+ will make it required to have ps+ to play online games. as i heard in rumors going around psn.

  • I want to like PS+; I really do.

However, I have already spent a ton of dough on various PSN titles so I have seen little benefit to myself in terms of any savings. I also have over 100 games from my PS1 days so offering my a free game does not do me any good. That being said I did pick up Crash Bandicoot 1 earlier this year since I enjoy it and I figured I would save the wear and tear on the drive. $5.99 is my max to pay for any PS1 game since I would be essentially paying a license to play it without the disc.

Want to guarantee me as a PS+ customer? Offer a + discount on Singstar, Rockband, and GH DLC. Whether it be 50 cents per track or whatever.

Just a thought. If people could use a + discount on whatever content they wanted to then I’ll bet you would have a lot more happy customers. Even $1.00 off of any PS1 game you wanted to pick up would allow people to recoup their + investments where they wanted to and frankly, the PSN sales would probably go up as people might take a flier on a title they would not have otherwise bought.

    Just a thought Sony…

This from a guy with over a decade’s experience in business to business sales…

  • Wow PS+ content sure lacking for this month. Where’s the free Avatar? Free Dynamic theme? Those two items were 1/2 the reason I joined.

Sony you need to start just giving everything in one update, at the start of the month, so that we can enjoy the months content for the entire month.

  • Listen, I’m all about the PSP Go, I love the damn thing, the issue is, is that I’m at your(PSN’s) mercy in terms of options, and so far, I’m developing battered wife syndrome.

I loved the PS1, and to see only a fraction of its titles available, and an even tinier fraction of that to be titles that are even worthy of looking at the title, really pains me. You guys have access to maybe one of the biggest and best libraries of games to ever hit a cathode ray tube, and even barring those that you’d need to pay a licenses fee to put up, you could easily put up a new PSX game EVERY DAY and have some left over for after the current and maybe even next gen’s life cycle has run its course.

I’m also sick of being punked out of PSP titles that I wound up missing. C’mon, get some backlog action going! Make a separate section in the PSN store for PSP Classics or something! If Microsoft feels the abject freedom to put up Games on Demand, full Xbox 360 titles, for download (and alotta them are pretty good too), I think you guys should answer that challenge.

I love you guys, you make quality stuff, at least in physical terms.

Please guys, step your game(s) up.

  • Shank is bloody awesome ! Best PSN game to date. Thank your EA and Sony. And thanks for the UnCut Version in Germany, i appreciated that.

  • Hi Everybody

I’m a Plus Suscriber and I feel bad, because I can’t believe that in the UK Store are things like…

1st Month – Little Big Planet Free
    This month the R.U.S.E demo

And I only get a PS1 games and demos that I really don’t like.

  • Seems like you skipped releasing content for the PSP this week…Might as well have with a list like that.

  • To anyone that can answer….What happened to Zen pinball? I thought that was slated for the early months of the Plus membership.

  • Nice additions to the store. But I really only have 1 simple question that kept me from upgrading to a PSPgo.

Will Crisis Core EVER be put onto the PS Store for download?

if it’s stuck in disk format I guess i’ll just stick to my psp 3000.

  • Shank is three hours long? What? I’ve been waiting for that for three months. At least make it cheaper, $15 sound ridicolous.

Keep up the good work SCEA :D

  • The thing that gets me is that when you annonced ps+ we were told it would be for the users that spend alot on the store since we all have purchased it we keep getting old stuff that most people have. i read the eu blog as well and they seem to get more and better things. why is this.

  • Hey the MAG demo doesn’t work it keeps saying “Please insert the MAG Disc”
    Great job sony

  • ^^^
If you had read their blog, they clearly said that you had to own the game to play this new beta. ITS NOT A PRERELEASE BETA. Its a beta for the new game mode they have been working on. So why should people who dont own the game play it?

  • Mag beta sounds good

  • When will you people put PSOne Classic Xenogears on the Store!?…i thought you people liked money…(o.O’)

  • I would have considered Press Your Luck as it looked like a interesting time waster & I remember watching it as a kid, but not at $9.99

  • Lol @ anybody that thinks the MAG Beta is a demo. Btw I <3 the Beta.

  • @OTCHILL

How’d you get a refund? I want to cancel mine too.

  • Really Sony? 24 hours and 243 comments later and you have only replied to ONE comment?

Why is it that you can’t tell me where my avatars, themes, and add-on content for month 2 are? Is it because you are intentionally trying to sucker people out of their money through false advertising? Is it just incompetence on the part of the PS Store staff? Or did you change the offerings after one month and are just too spineless to deal with the backlash of announcing that publicly?

I’m not asking for better games or content above and beyond what was promised. I’m just want to know where the content that I PAID FOR is. You clearly stated here on the blog that those were items subscribers would see each and every month. You haven’t delivered on that promise. I want my answer or I want my money back.

  • i want the dynamic clock theme

  • My only complaint is yet again, no NeoGeo or TG-16 releases for the PSP. This will be a great addition to the PSP – afterall, we got the folders for them in the last firmware upgrade a few months ago. Let’s bring on the games.

PS – On an entirely unrelated matter. I’m not suprise that SCEA doesn’t respond to posts on here. Over the past many months, they have decidely become hostile and negative. I’m not trying to justify Sony’s position of not responding, but I understand why they wouldnt want to.

If I was Sony though, I would be concerned that the negativity that is being echoed on these forums is a sign of a much more systemic problem – a decreasing public image. people are not happy with Sony’s service. And this does not translate well for any business, i.e., loss of sales. Hopefully, SCEA begins addressing the problems.

  • @15 El_Hoardo: Forget promised themes and avatars. They advertised Playstation Plus on this very blog with free add-ons that would be ours to keep, then pulled a switcharoo after we paid and made the add-ons expire with the subscription.

  • @Lcslick:

Before you start labeling Americans as “idiots,” please review your own post (#203).

    Some of my favorite excerpts?

“god americans are a whiny of idiots.”

“…when you didn’t know if it was any gud…. just shut up.”

    “…try shank an be quite”

“psp users do have sumfing to complain about”

Wow. Amazing. You are labeling Americans as idiots, yet your post is a grammatical train wreck.

I just so happen to be a “god american” from “whiny of idiots.” We here in “whiny of idiots” were sold on a subscription that looked really “gud” on paper.

PS+ has not lived up to some of our expectations. This is the reason some of us have chosen to speak out instead of remaining “quite.”

I couldn’t help but reply to your post… as I wanted to share this “sumfing” with you. Btw… is a “sumfing” similar to a “Shmuffin,” because Shmuffins are delicious.

As far as your warning to us about invading the EU blog, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. I mean… if your shining example of grammatical excellence is reflective of the grammar used on the EU blog, I highly doubt we would be able to read it anyway.

Thank you for your post, it really livened up my day.

  • I wanna see final fantasies 1&2 on PSN.

They were fun on my gameboy and it’d be awesome to have them again.

Nintendo releases awesome final fantasy games and you’ve only released a few.

  • And also, either release a game that is actually cheat-proof on PSN or release patches for games (FTB3 FTB3 FTB3) or piss on all of us.

Sony == promises… lies… Remember all the promises for the PS2 and now the PS3…

By the way Canada exist too, i tought that ntsc was including CANADA… poor sony.

  • Another Lame update from the good folks from SCEA. No wonder Nintendo is kicking your A S S in the selling numbers.

Face it, the Wii is a much better system then than PS3.

Keep up the oh so good update.
