  • What gives with the PSN+ ‘content’. Nothing about that is a +. Red Faction is old as hell and isn’t exciting. Give us trials to new games to encourage us to buy them, not crap we’ve played or is old as that.

The only thing good about this week is two demo’s because thats what I want. I want to test games to know if they are worth my time, and more importantly my money. How are you messing this up Sony? Are you serious? Let me run this example by you:

Two kids setup corner sales stands. One kid is selling little dixie cups of your standard lemonade for .25 a cup. The kid across the street advertises a fancy game decorated cup thats the newest on the market, that lasts for more than one use and a different flavor of lemonade for .30 a cup. Who do you think I’m going with? Yeah, thats right the .30 cup.

  • Continued:

Now how does that compare? Your the boring kid selling us a one hour trial of Red Faction thats old as old gets in the gaming industry while you could be putting up a hot SONY EXCLUSIVE WITH 1 HOUR TRIAL to get people hooked and they know its new, shiny, and fun and they get to try it for an hour which in the end grants you more than the $19.99 your charging for Red Faction because its a newer game. What is your problem Sony? How do you not get this? And don’t tell me you aren’t charging for this, I had to pay $50 to get that included “1 hr trial” time as a ‘benefit’. If I knew you’d be feeding me expired cereal instead of name brand fresh Wheaties I’d have told you to go pound sand.

  • Continued (screw 1250 characters btw!):

Now that I’ve got my rant out of the way understand I support Sony and I highly doubt anyone from this blog is going to read it, much less give a crap. But I assure you. I’m not purchasing jack from this update, now or ever. Call it my loss if you want but there are plenty of other titles, and games I can play and give my money to besides you and this piss poor update from a ‘Premium’ service. I’m a big Sony fan. I buy Sony stuff, my TV, my PS3, my electronics are typically Sony but you guys seriously have your head jammed extremely far up your [DELETED] when it comes to simple logic and obviously the majority of the people on this blog can’t figure out how you don’t see the light.

Get with it…. at some point please?

  • because sony is determined to run itself into the ground.
    and lol at the polo

  • @#80:

and like I said before, I will bet all the money in my account (which isn’t much, by the way) that Xbox Live had these exact same problems when it first started on Xbox 1.

When you have a subscription service like PS+, There is bound to have some growing pains early on. Just ask people who been with PSN since the very beginning of the PS3. or all the Netflix early adopters. I know that the content isn’t nearly worth the $50, but neither was Xbox Live early on. but people stuck with it. You guys have to understand, this is Sony’s first rodeo with this type of subscription service. it will get better in time, just like Xbox Live did. Trust me, it will. I promise.

    Anyways….

Yes, EA finally release two of the greatest drumming Rock songs of all time as a DLC (Jesus Built My Hotrod & Thieves)! Now, if only you will release that Sunny Day Real Estate-The Rising Tide DLC Full Album you promised A YEAR AGO, then maybe, just maybe you will have my money.

  • @anti_sock you that bored you’re trolling the PS blog?

  • I’m really glad I haven’t sprung for the Plus subscription, there either hasn’t been anything worth getting or stuff that I’ve already bought. If Sony wants Plus to succeed they really need to start offering stuff to make people want to get it

  • The content you’re offering PS Plus members is TOO OLD!! Red Faction: Guerrilla? Wipeout HD Fury?? This would be good content… ummm over a YEAR ago!! Plus is like a time machine. You can travel back in time and experience old games no one plays anymore! XD

  • well the PS3 already traveled back in time once

  • Okay so the Scott Pilgrim vs the World codes seem to be active yet mine still won’t work. Should I just wait and hope that it sorts itself out or is there actually someone I can contact over this?

  • LOL it’s not even worth trying to please these people. They see one thing they want but yet they find something else to complain about.

Go out, go get laid or something.

  • lol at throwing the life card.

  • like i said, @anti_sock has no console, or avatar=no life! SONY PS3!! PSP!! lmao@u!

  • I just bought Matt Hazard: Blood Bath And Beyond 2 Weeks ago
    [DELETED]!

  • A little disappointed about PSOne Classic releases still, especially when some major titles are available in other parts of the world. It takes a homebrewer 30 minutes tops to put a PSOne game on their PSP, I really don’t understand why its so hard for Sony to step it up a bit with this, especially when they make money off of it.

Other than that, decent update over all.

  • I just bought Matt Hazard: Blood Bath And Beyond 2 Weeks ago
    F! F! F!

  • @Grace:

I’m another PS Plus subscriber that is very disappointed by the content that you’re providing for us. You should not be giving us one-hour game trials for games that are so old such as Infamous and Red Faction Guerilla. Instead – you should be giving us recently released (within the past 4 weeks) games for the one-hour trials.

Furthermore, PS Plus subscribers should be at the “front of the line” when it comes to participating in betas (DC Universe Online, The Agency, Killzone 3, etc). We should also be able to get discounts on the subscription fees for all of the upcoming PS3 MMO games (DC Universe Online, The Agency, etc.). PS Plus subscribers should also be eligible to purchase specially discounted items from microtransaction stores within the upcoming PS3 MMOs.

  • hold off on buying Scott Pilgrim, it freezes when you try to play the first level.

  • Was so psyched for Scott Pilgrim I didn’t notice that the Mafia II demo came out today; gonna download that too, since it looks fun.

  • I just download and played the demo of Scott Pilgrim game. I lost my lives, and when I tried to CONTINUE, the game failed leaving a blank screen of death. I reboot the PS3 and when I try to play again guess what ? BLANK SCREEN. Please fix this. Thanks !

  • Are we getting the August dynamic themes/premium avatars on the 8/24 update? Let us know when the cycle begins, was it on 7/27 or 8/3? And does September begin on 9/7?

  • A ton of great content to purchase and download. A really great update, keep up the great work! :)

  • Ever since I saw CTR: Crash Team Racing on the UK PSN store a year ago, I never understood why North America didn’t have it on theirs. Now that it’s FINALLY here I’ll be getting it for my girlfriend. It’s her favourite game ever. Thanks, Sony.

  • For some reason the PS3 theme downloads but I can’t find it under the settings.

  • Sony, if you are going to go bi-weekly with PS+ , give us something decent and not garbage. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars into Sony products. If I have ever been dissapointed in Sony through my years, it would be now.

  • Boy, if I had a PS3, I would be rather excited with this week’s lineup. Unfortunately for me, and unfortunately for Sony, I have a PSP. Which basically means I could download a demo, an old PSOne game, and a gimped Madden. Uhh…seriously? 3 pieces of content? At least you guys know how much it sucks to not be supported. Just ask LucasArts, right.

  • I agree with @Edd, last month was great, this month has nothing so far for PS Plus.

  • Is it just me, or does CTR seem considerably slower than from what I remember? For some reason I remember it being quite smooth…

  • Nice job, Sony! You finally released a worthy PSOne Classic! I am sooooooooooo proud of you. Now it’s time to do the impoosible: release another worthwhile PSOne Classic NEXT WEEK!!!

  • HAY SONY HOW ABOUT Little Big Planet 1 ??? EURO has it.??? how about us i mean don’t you want my money again for this game. i would gladly buy it again just to have it installed on my ps3. But don’t get greedy please 20 bucks should be enough. i would pay that. Thanks Please bring LBP 1 for download here USA USA…..

  • NOOOOOOO and i was about to buy section 8!!! but the price went up again….. o well maybe next time if it goes down

  • sounds like psn+ needs to step up its game,in my line of work we would call this “Doing as little as possible for max profit”

  • So I take it that in 2 weeks then we will see a new PSN game and PS1 for Playstation Plus right? Is that how this is going to work out?

  • Oh btw. Your giving us 1 week worth of content for 2 weeks of waiting for ps+ members. Not even that… maybe a half a week.

  • here’s a list of games i bought and goes in sale 2 week after in theses last 2 month:
    Fat Princess
    After Burner
    Matt Hazard
    Section 8
    i sure forget somes…
Please Make 1 month in advance PSN sales list AT LEAST!
    stop thoses RANDOM sales
give us someting SOLID so we can HOLD into!
    Please GOD!

  • Awesome update! REALLY enjoying Scott Pilgrim, so much so, that I haven’t touched any of the other stuff I picked up off the store tonight.

But, sorry, I have to ask yet again…WHERE IS CASTLE CRASHERS??????

  • Hehe, the demo for Valkyria Chronicles 2 made up for the lack of anything good for the PSP.

  • DLC Discounts to Consider for PS+:
    Killzone 2 Map Packs
    Fallout 3 DLC
    Uncharted 2 DLC
    Motorstorm 2 DLC
    LittleBigPlanet DLC
    Burnout Paradise DLC
    SF4 & SSF4 DLC
MW2 DLC (though I doubt activision would consider it)
Warhawk DLC (other 2 map packs)

Sony c’mon! Are you guys really gonna wait 4-6 more months to get these out. I know you might not be able to give discounts on the multiplats, but you have enough a exclusives to throw us bone.

  • is there any point to renewing my Qore annual subscription if I signed up for PlayStation Plus?

  • Thanks for the nice garbage PS+ content guys. I would have bought Scott Pilgrim today if it wasn’t for your garbage as of yet service. The promises made seem to be broken, this is what’s going to happen.

We move from the usual (free):

    1 Free PSN Game
    1 PSOne Classic
    2 Minis
    Free DLC
    Free Themes
    Free Avatars
    Free Qore
    Discounts

    To (recycled):

    Free Qore
    Free Demos
    Free Themes
    Free Avatars
    Discounts

Sounds like a coupon club to me. SCEA sucks in comparison to EU PSN, their update is once a month, but damn to they get their money’s worth with +.

  • Great update I like how you guys got Scott Pilgrim on PSN first thumbs up for that.

Off topic: Though i hope you guys at PS keep a look out on sites like “KOTAKU” look at what they done.

    http://www.smgamers.com/?p=2080

  • I forgot to add a MINI, if we’re lucky.

  • CTR is great just wish they added an online multiplayer aspect to it like they did with mortal kombat 2

  • Section 8 should stay $14.99.
    It isn’t worth $24.99 or $29.99….

  • I just bought a slim ps3 because my phat YLOD…should have bought that gtx 480 or ati 5870 for StarCraft 2, you keep “updating” with old games, at least old snake was cool, Guerrilla instead of Just Cause? LOL…sorry, the other “box” is getting my money this week.

    PlayStation +?…oh I get it…Plus, more money for you…

  • Get Some Scott Pilgrim Avatars Dammit~!!!!!!!!

    plz…

  • I just want some stuff for PS plus that isn’t 5 months old. How about giving us cross game chat?
