Coming Soon to PSN: Mahjongg Artifacts for PSP and PS3

11 3

I want to introduce a new PlayStation mini game for your “classical” collection: Mahjongg Artifacts, arriving on PSP (and PS3) on Tuesday, June 15!

Mahjongg Artifacts is a beautiful and engaging classical board game that is a prequel to Mahjongg Artifacts: Chapter 2, which you may have already tried on the PSP. Both chapters of Mahjongg Artifacts have a Story Mode featuring the main character’s quest for lost relics. Now you have a chance to discover how the story of the game started!

Mahjongg Artifacts features three play modes that take you through five exotic cultures: China, Greece, Egypt, Mexico and Atlantis. The Story Mode presents a comic story that unfolds as you master 25 layouts in the mahjongg game. Bonuses and powerups differ from those in Mahjongg Artifacts: Chapter 2, so the gameplay won’t feel the same. In the Classic Mode, you have an opportunity to choose layouts and tile sets you want to play, and in the Endless Mode your game never ends — the tower of game pieces rises, offering you unpredictable tile arrangements.

Check out the video of Mahjongg Artifacts above to see the game’s beautiful graphics and relaxing music inaction. Don’t miss out — the game has a wealth of options for just $4.99.

  • Hey g5.
    You spelt Mahjong wrong.

    • Hi there, :)

We have intentionally used double “g” spelling for our Mahjongg Artifacts series.

  • this game … not sure what to provide with a useful info excpet “sighing”

  • “Mahjongg” = lmao
Going to still get it though

  • WTF The ninety-seventh puzzle game for quiet, casual gamers is here.

  • Personally, I like Mahjong! I think it was done best though by Tik/Creat games on the PS3 one. But, this game is still pretty decent if you want a portable mahjong fix for a low price.

I’m just curious as to why the sequel came out before the first one?

  • This is actually a great title to take with you on the PSP. Thanks for the content

    • UNCyrus, you are most welcome! The game is indeed beautiful and is a great example for this genre. ;)

  • I’ve been playing the one PSN Mahjong game during some downtime. It’s not bad, a bit relaxing. Don’t think I’m going to invest in a second one, though.

  • And this is UNDER 100MB? It actually looks better than the full-fledged PSN title awhile back. And this actually has a control scheme intended for consoles/controllers rather than a pseudo-mouse. I say ‘welcome’ to this new addition. =)

    • Thanks for your feedback, Jeigh. We’ve made our best to give you best mahjong experience on PSP/PS3!

  • It’s games like this that keep me supporting minis. I play games like this just before I go to bed to help clear my mind. Sudoku, Cross-word Puzzles, and now Mahjong!

Looks pretty good, and I’ll be picking this up.

  • you guys need to do a Riichi or regular mahjong game next instead of a sol game like almost every other developer has made a good start is with the book “A Mah Jong Handbook How to play, Score, and Win” by Elenor Noss Whitney. you can still do a story to it just look at Moeru Mahjong: Moejong! it has a good story to it.

  • A backgammon mini and I’m set.
