Hi everyone,

I’m Olivier, I work for Nobilis as the Product Manager of Trine, and I’m really happy to be able to tell you that it’s coming to the US PlayStation Store this Thursday, October 22!

This long-expected innovative action / platform game that combines 2D gameplay with 3D graphics is almost here! Acclaimed by players throughout the world and designated as “Best E3 Downloadable Game” by Gamespot, Trine will be available for download Thursday on the PlayStation Network.

Three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil and the player can at any time freely choose whoever is best suited for the upcoming challenge or puzzle.

Trine is balanced between action and puzzle solving sequences, which are just fantastic to play. Thanks to an extensive use of physics, you’ll be able to solve puzzles in many different ways, whether you play alone by switching characters or alongside with a friend (up to 3 players simultaneously on the same system). Just take a peek at this trailer and you’ll get a sense of what I’m talking about!

For those of you who are always on the hunt for Trophies, rest assured! I’m thrilled to announce that Trine has full support for trophies and also features a Platinum Trophy as the ultimate reward!

I realize that many of you have been waiting to get your hands on Trine for some time. I’d like to assure you all that we are deeply sorry about this delay. We worked really hard in order to give you the best experience possible playing Trine and we really hope you’ll enjoy it.

One more thing. Don’t forget to get all the experience vials that you can pickup throughout the levels! With them you’ll be able to improve the abilities of your characters and become an even bigger threat to your enemies!

Trine is available for download this Thursday on the PlayStation Store for $19.99.

  • Sweet, this is awesome news! It’s about time that I can play this for myself.

  • Too little too late. I’m far to busy with U2 and Brutal Legend to care, and with R&CF and MW2 coming out soon, it doesn’t look like I’ll have any time in the future either…

  • still 5fps in last missions? gj sony with certification

  • Askin price is a bit high until I know for sure exactly what’s in the package. How long do we expect the gameplay to last? Any free
    dlc support coming? Replayability?

Sadly I agree with many here…this won’t be a day one purchase until I get to try a demo or even read some reviews. 20 bucks is just too high for what little I’ve seen, and I’ve been burned too often lately (battle tanks makes me sad).

  • I was anticipating this game but it took too much time to release it. It still looks interesting but i just bought demons souls and uncharted 2 and theres more good games to come. I will probably buy it at some point but not now.
Critter crunch developers have been disappointed by sales, that is what it does when you release a digital game during the big period of blockbusters. I hope it will be better for you.

  • Sorry, but no. I was interested on this game two months ago, when it was supposed to be available. Now there are a lot of things to compete with.

That, the lack of online, and the ridiculous price (it is almost the same price other retail games on the store, like Burnout Paradise or Warhawk, and double the price of other PSN titles like Marvel v Capcom or Flower) have turn my off of this one.

  • I’ll buy this if/when you add Online co-op.

  • Looks like a case of downloadable game rape to me.

  • Too long of a wait for Me. I was going to purchase this back in july. You shouldve lowered the price considering this was suppose to arrive back in july.

  • I don’t understand idiots who complain that $20 is SO MUCH for a game and they’re TOO BUSY to play because they just bought Uncharted, Demon Souls, Brutal Legend, etc…all for $60 each.

  • Sounds great, but how long is the game? If I pay $20 for it, I want it to have a lot of levels to it.

  • What has taken so long to bring it to the Us, it is out in my country for months?!

  • I was excited for this game for a while and it kind of went under the radar for me. I’m still interested but I too was shocked to see it going for $20 instead of something like $10 or $15. Platinum Trophy is nice but in a game like this will probably take a while to achieve.

As for people who want a demo: http://trine-thegame.com/site/ there is a link to download a PC demo. Go nuts.

  • I paid 20€ for this game and I am not disapointed. The game is rather long and high quality for a downloadable game and even longer if you are aiming for platinum trophy. As for lenght I would say maybe 8-10 hours if you aint speedrunning the levels.

co-op is also really fun, laughed a lot when played with my friend especially on the harder levels.

This is not a typical “mini game” on psn, its more of a size “Wipeout HD” kinda game. Big but yet not big enough for retail package.

  • wow $19.99 you guys are high

  • Nobilis and Sony really messed this up for Frozenbyte. The game cleared QA weeks ago and should have launched before the onslaught of UC2 and the other AAA titles coming out.

I think you guys missed the boat with this one. Would have been big a month ago. I know I would have bought it, but my money is tied up in other games right now.

  • YES!!I finally get to play Trine. Day one but, i don’t care it’s 20$,it’s worth it for me.I’ve been saving for this since it was first announced.Even if it dropped in price i wouldn’t care one bit, it’s worth 20$ and just to be able to have this game is well worth my money.

  • being someone who bought this on pc, i must said its hard to recommend the game.

its coop and “physics puzzle” may seem attractive on paper, but in all honesty it isnt.

every puzzle (if you can even call them puzzles) can be solved using the wizard and his floating on a platform ability. the warrior is completely useless when compared to the archer.

for the price its not really worth it especially after all the delay to actually come to the psn

  • I was interested 3 months ago when I played the demo on my PC (on very low quality..haha). Why should I care now about this? Sorry. Maybe I’ll get it at some point.

  • Far too much money for this stale, over hyped game.

Do not talk about trophies, they are mandatory in all games. There is no need to mention them.

  • Finally TRINE,. but hey Uncharted 2 is here, new Ratchet comming in few next days so thx but no thx, wrong date sorry..

  • A lot of you need to pipe down. It’s not like they intentionally delayed the release of Trine just to make fans upset.

Even though the price does seem somewhat steep compared to other games on PSN, it’s really being unappreciated for its value. This is a great game that is so close to feeling like a regular disc-based game that I don’t know why the developers didn’t just add more and make it one.

I have it on the PC and can say that the game justifies the $20 price tag. The graphics are damn nice and the gameplay is fun and unique. Some of you likely paid $15 for Braid with gives you 2 hours of a good game that lacks depth. Trine will give you more and has RPG-esque elements for 5 bucks more.

  • I would thank you guys for finally releasing the game, but I dont want to stand out from all the crying in the crowd.

  • $19.99 ??????????

    Is this a joke ?

  • DAY ONE PURCHASE….

  • hmmmmmmm 19.99? THIS GAME BETTER BE HUGE but at that price there has 2 b a demo….

  • ONLINE CO-OP PLEASE!!!

  • “Where’s Trine??” “Where’s Trine??”

finally a release date & price

    “Too much!! Too much!!!”

LOL!! I’m just sooooo glad that now I’ll never have to see a PSN store update w/ people screaming for this game.

  • Fantastic release. I saw some news about this game a while back and have been awaiting the release. Looks great and will plan on purchasing. Do have to admit though, I will get UC2 first…

  • if it’s going to cost $20 release it on blu-ray then

  • Uncharted 2, Deamon’s Souls, and Critter Crunch won’t let me play with anyone else right now. :( …maybe sometime down the road when there is a sale.

I am glad we won’t be seeing – “where is Trine!!!1!!11” anymore though.

  • This is the natural progression when the X retards happily paid $15 for Braid. Little downloadable games should have never gotten over $10.
Is Trine awesome? Probably, but at $20 I’ll never know. PixelJunk Monsters and Flower certainly were- and they didn’t rape my wallet.
And those of you who are shocked over this… c’mon. If FF13 came out tomorrow we’d all be excited… but if we find out it’s $120 we’d (mostly) drop it like a hot potato. (Well, I’d buy it, but don’t tell Square that :P ).

  • $20 is too high right now. Especially when I’m still working on U2. This should have come out in July. Sorry, but I’m gonna wait for a sale. How about online co-op? Seems like a no brainer with Trine yet we only get local co-op. :(

  • Wow, I really hope someone is listening to this overwhelming feedback. Maybe 5% of the people here are thinking of picking this up?

I haven’t seen this kind of feedback since that new firmware with all the store icons (my only complaint about it).

I just had my job exported to India, so $20 now really is out of my range.
    Good luck competing with

  • Beautiful music.

  • Yeah no co-op online which is what I was really looking forward to. The price is great, $19.99 and includes a Platinum. The fact that Sony approved a Platinum for a PSN title, I believe only the second one after Wipeout, says a lot about the caliber and depth of the game. Dudes $20? That’s a good price considering all those factors, everyone is raving about the game. This is a must buy for me, very late but still looks awesome.

If only some people would stop always complaining about game pricing, we want to encourage devs to develop incredible games for PSN. Who just wants HD remixes of old PC games every week? And while Critter Crunch is cool, it can’t compare to Trine on the same scale.

  • Any chance you know what the file size will be?

Just want to make sure I have enough free space… running low on my 80GB. ;)

  • Looks really epic but i wish their was online. No one i kno will be interested in this…

  • $20…

    Have fun with that.

  • Just noticed the lack of online…. Ouch!

  • MAJOR FAIL! voted 1.

im sorry but you want $20 for a game that was released months ago on the other system, offer no explanation as to why it took months to get it onto Playstation 3, and there isn’t even anything improved or added.

NO THANKS! i will not support a developer with my money for making Playstation customers wait for many months after xbox got it.

  • Looks nice

  • It’s about freakin’ time.

I’ll be buying it as soon as the store is updated on Thursday, been waiting for this game for so long. Can’t wait to FINALLY play it!

  • 3 hours later and I’m still excited that this is being released this week.

  • you should have brought it to $14.99 ……….. you know, in considering how late it is, how Europe got it first and how 20 is just too arrogantly high!

  • A great looking game that I’ll be buying day one. I’m sure my wife and I will have a lot of fun with the co-op. I’ll admit the timing isn’t the greatest, but unlike all the people on here complaining for the sake of complaining, I think the price is about right for what you’re getting. I hope to see more great titles like this one in the future, thanks.

  • NO CUSTOM SOUNDTRACKS AND A HIGH PRICE???

    NO THANK YOU!

  • You people are morons. MORONS. STUPID. ****ING. MORONS.

The EU version of the game is something like 15.99 Euros…and that’ll come to $23 US. It’s $20 here. It’s not Frozenbyte’s fault that this game got delayed. It’s Sony’s QA process. Blame Sony, not Frozenbyte. God damn all you ignorant morons to HELL!

That said, I’m purchasing this day one. Looking forward to the experience. Can’t wait to get out of work on Thursday!

  • Well look what arrives this week, a little too late for Sony to release this game even though it was ready weeks ago (maybe over a month ago). I may look into this again next year, and thats a maybe. Theres too many new games being released i’m so confused. I just ordered a couple of new games to keep me busy for a good long while.

I’m sorry Nobilis/Olivier, i would have bought this last month, looks like a fun game, hope you reach your sales projection and i will spread the word for you all.
