Some fans arrived as early as 8am and drove as far as from Oregon to participate. Everyone was rewarded with the chance to win raffles, enjoy some free grub, and be highly entertained. With the talented DJ Anoop spinning tunes, blockbuster-worthy just-got-beaten-up makeovers from Anti-ER, and models getting crazy with pillow fights, the thrilling 7-hour tournament was building up to the final sweat-inducing moment of truth for our KOFXII players. Right before we got to the zenith of the tournament, we had a special guest appearance by Monique Ganderton from the upcoming King of Fighters movie, followed by an exclusive premiere of the King of Fighters movie trailer. Finally, it was time for the intense showdown between two of the top KOFXII players. After four rounds of gasp-worthy combos and eye-popping roundhouse kicks, Reynald Tacsuan emerged as the ultimate King of Fighters XII champion. In addition to being crowned, Tacsuan also won the $10,000 grand prize: the KOFXII arcade cabinet, directly imported from Japan. Other fans and spectators were able to take home tons of KOFXII goodies too like signed posters, limited edition KOFXII Japanese mugs, and KOFXII T-shirts.

  • @5 I agree. Sony shows off a few cool looking games with no release dates set in stone. No firmware announcements…. No word of when Home will come out of its ‘beta’ stage…. They will be showing off that new motion controller at next years E3 and still not have a release date…. What’s the deal Sony?

  • cool, congrats to the winner…
    you mean “second”

  • arcade cabinet damn…so lucky guy

  • Free stuff is always fun. :)

I could never win such a thing. When it comes to fighting games, my controller receives a harsher beating than my opponents, so I eventually wised up to the fact that I really shouldn’t play them. Similar story with racing games. Hell, Sly 1 had just two racing mini-games and it ticked me off to no end. Didn’t even finish Jak 3. Huh, I’ve really gotten off topic here.

Coolio with the tournament and I love how colorful the game is. Don’t get a great deal of that these days.

  • Great just wish I could have attended… =[

  • Yeah KoF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my internets once again. So happy.

  • Wha?! There’s going to be a KOF movie?! When did that get announced?
