This Week on PlayStation.Blog

GDC is coming up rather quickly, and Chris and I are working on the same thing we did last year – the PlayStation.Blog.Lounge. The goal is to let the media go hands on with our latest and greatest, as well as conduct interviews with our producers and dev teams. Then they tell you about it. There’s also some tasty food and a veritable keg o’ caffeine.

This year, I wanted to extend the invitation to you, our dear readers. So after the media shuffle off to assorted GDC parties and dinners Wednesday evening, we’re going to re-open the doors for PlayStation fans. There’ll be fun, food, prizes, and, of course, it’ll be free. More details and RSVP instructions coming up tomorrow.

hey jeff, any idea when the US is gonna get trophy cards?, i see europe has them (sexy i might add) they also have a better PSN section lol…so when will we see our cards appear?

Will y’all be doin something in HOME? Even streaming the interviews and announcements there would be nice. Last year in closed beta for home in the japan server sony did something for CES, can we expect to see anything on the us server for any of the big events?

Is it just me, or flickr is working bad?, ’cause i cannot see the images, and, the images from flickr that are in the blog neither…i wanted to see all the images of LBP, Patapon and the others,…too bad for me at least, i have tried in 5 diferent machines and nothing happens…

I really hate that RE5 is forced multiplayer. I mean, the choice is great, but even solo… they need to fix the AI for Sheva. Otherwise, she’ll continue to be my ammo container.

I can’t find anyone good to play with online to get through Veteran. Multiple playthroughs on amateur for infinite ammunitions, here we go!

I hope the game wont sell good. RE 5 is no survival horror. I hope Capcom sees that the real fans a dissapointed. I wont pick this game up.

Also Capcom: Release Monster Hunter for Ps3 for **** sake

I find it appalling that Microsoft put “Xbox exclusive” on the RE5 trailers on TV, most of my friends didn’t even know it was also coming out on the ps3.

Where’s the poll option for I ain’t going to play it because it sucks? It’s neither Resident Evil nor a shooter. It’s just terrible. Any idiot who says it’s like RE4 clearly hasn’t played RE4 or their memory is severely damaged.

Worst game I’ve played all year.

I voted for RE5 in co-op because it’s awesome, but I like playing single player a lot, as well. My friend and I started and played through the first 2+ chapters, and then he played ahead of me so the next time I found it was a little less interesting when he knew exactly what to do. So I’ve been tackling the rest of the game by myself before I jump back into co-op so I don’t have anything ruined for me. I have a little under 2 chapters to go…

Anyone having a problem with Sheva’s AI, just keep her in “Cover” mode (hold O and press DOWN on the D-pad) and give her a stun rod. She’ll keep close, conserve ammo, and will give you almost everything she picks up and only keep what she’s ordered to grab. Keep the healing items away from her as she’s a little quick to use them. Then just switch her to “Attack” mode (hold O and press UP on the D-pad) when a group of enemies appears and switch her back when their down. The AI is very responsive and manageable this way. Hope that helps! :)

Man, there’s plenty of people playing online co-op who would disagree with you.

Spent hours playing and laughing last night.

Not the “best” game, but certainly the best co-op experience I’ve had on the PS3.

Congratulations on the baby! Week 18 is exciting. My wife and I just had our 3rd child on March 5. We already have 2 girls and we are very happy to now have a little boy.

Both are fun and interesting, but I hope you get what you’re shooting for!

but yeah, I’m working on a new website, well its a clan battle website, and I have this idea to integrate the website with the PSN accounts. so you can login and create/join a clan with your PSN, would make a lot of things much easier. And give a better experience ( at least thats what I think )

I’ve been a HUGE Capcom fan for 20++ years. Since the NES days. I’ve bought most every major game they released. But now, no matter how much I want their games, I’ve refused to buy anything with the Capcom label on it since Fall 2007. And I will continue to do so until they repent for their horrible sin of taking my favorite game franchise of all time away from me and putting it exclusively on the Wii of all the dumb thing. I’ll not buy a single Capcom product until they announce a Monster Hunter for PS3.

Also I’m really waiting for info on Pacific Rift DLC, Magic Ball DLC, and an ETA for the Home EA Sports Complex. I truly can not wait for Texas Hold’em Poker to be in Home. I’ll be playing that constantly. The EA Sports Complex is really going to improve Home a great deal when it comes to adding variety. I already spend alot of time in Home, I’ll be there alot more with Poker available to play with people.

Waitwaitwait… This is the week of the Killzone 2 LBP-content, right? =] … Somehow ever since I saw the completely black and one-eyed Sackboy, I haven’t been as excited for any content update(besides the MGS-pack of course ^^) than that!

Be reasonable. Monster Hunter 3 doesn’t look THAT bad on the Wii nor does it seem to be awkward. Then again, with the monthly subscription they put up for Monster Hunter G Wii and them talking about one for MH3, it might just be a good thing we didn’t get that sort of treatment from Capcom.

I’m more interested in the next Mega Man game. CoroCoro talked about a robot design contest for the next game (Star Force 3 is already out in Japan) so it COULD be a PSP/PS3 game. I’m putting hopes in Legends 3 or a whole new console franchise.

I think the UE3 Titan Pack goes up on PS3 this week. You should have Epic on here talking about it. Trophies are already up for the game but they could make mention of it as well as the split screen mode.

Congrats on the baby Jeff! I found out last week we’re having another boy. Will this be your first? My advise is to try not to stress too much, babys pick up on that kinda stuff. If your relazed, the chances are the baby will be too.

Oh and when are you anouncing the KZ2 winners? (Or did you and I just missed it?)

I am being reasonable. I don’t think MH looks bad on Wii, I’m saying it should be cross-platform if anything. Taking a series away from 100% of it’s current fan-base is what I call unreasonable.

Also The Monster Hunter demographic is one of the very few demographics that have almost no interest in the Wii, and I know this first hand. On Monster Hunter for PS2, between mt 3 characters I had 60 people on my friends lists, and only 1 of those people had any interest in the Wii My degree in business tells me that demographics are much more important than install base. And I guarantee that is MH3 came out on Wii and PS3 the same day, regardless of how many more Wiis are on the market, it would sell FAR more copies on PS3. Monster Hunter is going to be an absolute flop on the Wii, even in Japan where Monster Hunter reigns supreme. I predict even in Japan MH on Wii won’t match MH on PSP numbers, and I’d take that bet with anybody.
