I’m happy to announce the next official EOJ Online Tournament, The Dioskuri Tournament, will begin on Thursday next week! In the past, players of official tourneys went head-to-head competing for the best rank on the leaderboard in a given amount of time. The highest ranked players at the end were usually given a special title for eternal online glory.
But this tournament is different.
Since the release of the EOJ Set 3 Expansion, we’ve received many requests for the very rare Set 3 Promo cards, most specifically the Dioskuri card, because of its one of the most powerful cards in the game. These cards are highly sought after since they aren’t available at retail. That is why this new official tournament is so exciting. In The Dioskuri Tournament, the overall winner still gets a special online ranking of “Dioskuri King,” plus all three SET 3 Promo cards … including the Dioskuri card!
But it doesn’t stop there.
If you manage to be one of the top 100 ranked players in the tourney. You get all 3 Promo Cards too! (EBAY not necessary)
So there you go. Now all EOJ players have a chance to get these valuable promo cards so they can add them to their EOJ collection!

The Eye of Judgment: The Dioskuri Tournament
The Next official THE EYE OF JUDGMENT™ PLAYSTATION®Network tournament, The Dioskuri Tournament, will start on Thursday, March 19th at 12:00 GMT and will run for one week as before. You’ve still time to plan and build your ultimate deck and you will still be able to play as many matches as you like until the tournament closes.
The top player will receive an exclusive online ranking title- “Dioskuri King” plus all three Set 3 promo cards, including the ultra rare and extremely powerful Dioskuri Card, and, of course, the sweet pleasure of bragging rights over all others.
The top 100 Players will also receive exclusive Set 3 Promo Cards.
Taking part is easy, just follow these simple steps:
- Log in to PLAYSTATION®Network and go online with THE EYE OF JUDGMENT in the usual way from Thursday, March 19th at 12:00 GMT
- Select ‘Online Tournament’ from the Online mode select screen.
- Players will be matched up with another player to battle just the same as the regular way of Ranked Match.
- That’s it – You’re entered into the tournament!
Any points you earn from playing “Online Tournament” ranked matches before the close of the tournament will contribute to your position on the tournament leader board. The tournament scoring system is exactly the same as that used for regular online ranked matches. Please note that tournament matches do not contribute towards your regular ranking.

Sony should consider remarketing an EoJ “Deluxe Starter” set with everything from the original bundle (camera, game, starter deck, set 1 booster) PLUS:
one Set 2 booster
one Set 3 booster
a voucher for free download of the set 2&3 expansion.
(or, just update the game disk itself to the set 3 expansion)
I honestly think with just a -little- bit of marketing behind it EoJ could see a big resurgence in popularity.
i got the game but not being able to get the cards kinda killed it for me. I dont live in the US so thats a little bit of a problem

I really would like to play in this tournament (got my stuff out and everything!) but I can’t figure out what 12:00 GMT is? On a THURSDAY? Isn’t that like… 4 in the morning? Or is it 4 in the afternoon of wednesday? The implication I get is 4 in the morning!
Why is a clearly homophobic comment (post number 25) not only allowed here (despite it clearly breaching the sites stated comment policy) but read and politely replied to by Chuck Lacson, thereby seeming to personally endorse prejudice. Terrific news about EOJ, hopefully more positive news soon.
I have a PSeye but not the stand for the camera to use during the game. Anywhere I can just get the stand?
Thanks for showing this game some much needed love. This game has one of the most hardcore fanbases ever. If you love it, you live for it. It has me hooked from day one and I’m still here enjoying it every day. And I know I’m not the only one. So please keep those servers up and running!

That’s if Canada is really in the tournament… I really also hope Chuck used the term U.S. instead of N.A. by mistake (TWICE!). It was impossible to get cards in Canada but I love the game so much, I didn’t mind buying them in other countries. But, shoot, let me get in that tournament particularly since I always had to pay so much in shipping for my little cardboards!!! :)

Oh wow, I can’t wait to participate in this tourney! I’m not the best player around, so I’m hoping for lucky draws on my part and unlucky draws on my opponents’ parts, lol.
Seriously though, I’m really glad this tournament is being offered, and I hope it brings some much needed attention back to EOJ!
This is a great game! It gets 90% of my PS3 time and I play it everyday. Hopefully Sony will make a set 4, a new series or similar game to Eye of Judgment.
For those people who had trouble getting start or are sitting on the fence go and join an online community like http://www.eojmanager.com or http://www.eojhq.com and talk to the veterans. You can build a very competitive deck with just 2-3 URs and cards you could probably get for free from people with large collections (i.e. commons and uncommons).
Great to see some promotion of a fun game, Chuck. I’ve spent too little time with my copy of the game, and will look to get involved soon!
I’m presuming that the US tourney doesn’t include Canada due to legalities. If that’s the case, any chance we might be able to participate in the tourney anyways– with the prize being an “Honourary Virtual Card”…. Hmm, that’s why I’m not in marketing.
Another quick question– with this new promotion on, any chance that there will be a sale on the card licenses to compliment the tournament?
wow this is nice… even thou i can’t get any trophy’s on it, but i still have a blast playing it.
Wow, the game is not dead yet! there are so many players out there, i have not waited longer than 5 minutes for an oppenent since i startet, and i have played more then 1000 games at least. i must confess, im addicted!!! ;)

The game is NOT dead, and this tournament will just bring more players into the already lively discussion forums at http://www.eojmanager.com or other fan sites. There is no reason that anyone can’t pick up cards for the game, as I myself have given away more then 2000 commons and uncommons to new players, and there are several people like me that can do so. The only reason people don’t know about this fabulous game is the fact that Sony doesn’t advertise it. I really wish they would, just to get the word out about Eye of Judgment.
Is there any news pertaining to the future of the game from SCEJ?

Great news that an official Dioskuri tournament is being organized both in the US as well as in Europe. I just hope we get some definite news regarding the future of EOJ soon.

This game is easily one of the best for the PS3, if not for this entire generation of games. Sony has something incredible and unique here, and like thousands of other players, I pray that a Set 4 is released.

Sadly I work thursday. My job is physical labor and I’ll need the day off on friday cause I won’t get very many days off next week and I get really sore from my job…
First my job took away my ability to play drums (wrists hurt too much now to play) and now it’s taking up my time to play in tournaments… *sigh*
I have this game and I think it is one of the most innovative games I have ever played.
As far as keeping up with the cards I have been able to keep up with all the sets by just getting them on ebay. I spent a mint completing series 1 and I found it better to just buy sets on ebay. I think sony has a great product in this game and I would hate to see them pull their support for it.
