Judgment day has come, all bow before the one known as Kratos!
Yes, all the rumors are true: Kratos, the one and only, has made his way to Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds… and he’s looking to claim his rightful seat as the God of Golf!
In all honesty, integrating Kratos into Hot Shots Golf was by far one of the best experiences, as we got to work closely with the God of War team and the casts of characters (voice over, animators, etc) that created Kratos in his original form.
If I had to pick one of the most fun parts, it would have to be our VO sessions and watching (listening?) T.C. Carson jump into the Kratos role in a completely new environment… trust me, there were plenty of eye-watering-side-splitting laughs that day…
But aside from VO, the Clap Hanz team paid a great deal of attention to all of Kratos’ characteristics when animating him and hi chain-drivers.
So starting this Thursday, Kratos will make his way down to your local PS3 via download. You can take him out to a nice single player round offline and once you’ve mastered his technique, give it a go online against all the puny mortals that dare defy you.

Lol, that’s just hilarious. I have the US version but will the rest of the world also have Kratos for their HSG / EG version?
I also wished that recent games would have trophy support like this game, Ratchet & Clank, Heavenly Sword etc.

Sony/SCEA disregard those comments. I don’t even think they realize Hot Shots Golf is a 1st party franchise.
As an adult gamer I think you should keep doing what you have done here. I hope you do the same with Pain,Velocity Bowling or any future Sony titles and add Sony game franchise characters such as Kratos here as future DLC. I want to launch Kratos out of a giant slingshot and bowl at the lanes at Mt. Olympus!!!!

Chris, I have a question. I live in Japan, have a JP PS3 and want to buy HSG. If I buy the local version of HSG will it have English, like Resistance and Ratchet and Clank do? If not and I import how can I access the DLC since the US store will not accept my non-American credit card? Thanks.

This is not on topic but had to put it somewhere. That Pet Eye game I didn’t know what to think of when I heard about the concept but as soon as I saw the trailer “wow”! Now we’re talking about Sony again and their brilliant original ideas! You really need to check out the trailer guys its awesome.

I agree with some of my fellow golfers here: this game begs for Trophy support. :)
I admit that in-game music would be a very nice addition as well but Trophy support would be even more appreciated.

Just had a thought on a great advertising add for HSG…
Get downloadable characters of Kratos and Nariko. Show them as they are bout to face off, pan each character as they prepare for battle – show off their fighting stances and some moves – … then … switch to view of Kratos (or Nariko) putting and missing while the other laughs and points.
All we need is a SackBoy and Helghast character for HSG:OOB, and we’re all set.
Chris, I love how you guys continue to support this game, and how you’re responsive to your audience. However, there’s a few things I’m wondering why they haven’t been added in yet.
Are there any plans to implement trophies, voice chat, and rumble?

The downloaded characters are available immediately. Be sure to go in the Online mode to download the update. Then the characters will be available on the character-select screen (offline and online). Next to Fernando and Maruyama will be an arrow pointing right. Simply go to their character boxes and press right on the d-pad to see the new characters.

Kratos is great and the online updates are very welcome. Any word on when the scoring glitch will be resolved and when we’ll get leaderboards like Japan?
Also, I am a G0 and we are suffering from needlessly poor scheduling. There are times where it’s HOURS between tournaments. We have enough people in G0 to have at least one per hour. Plus, we only have Crown, Silver Peaks, and Oceania tourneys (mostly in rain). Do you know when we might get to play the other courses (hopefully rain-free)?
Many, many G0’s have been complaining about the scheduling for months and were hoping this update would fix things. Thanks for looking into it.

Thanks for the continued support. This is the most addictive game by far on the PS3 right now. I’d love to see the costume packs and further content in the form of DLC brought to the Store.
I have a few points also to raise about the game, wondering if you guys could take a look at addressing some of them.
Online play: Sometimes it’s hard to find a game with 10 players or more in order to have the tournament prize activated, could you possibly lower it to around 6-8 players?
Sometimes I’ve had a network error and when attempting to rejoin online play, I’m locked out for up to 8 hours, is there anyway to fix this as it doesn’t seem too fair.
When a player attempts to jump in to a game, if they are not on the correct floor they cannot access it without going to the right floor, we could have more people jumping into games at the last minute if they didn’t ahve to exit the lobby in order to get to the right floor.
Also, we’re always stuck in the same lobby, we never use some of the other ones, could we not have a rotation of floor 1’s environment to mix things up. We love messing about and chatting in the lobbies, excellent idea there (Home is going to be a big success if HSG’s lobby system is anything to go by).
By the way, I don’t think this game needs trophy support, we already have it in game, however custom soundtrack support would be appreciated.
We need more people picking this game up and the community continuing to grow. Do you not feel that the DLC is dividing the community though, some folk don’t have the add on characters or course and so they can’t play those games. Anyway to resolve this. Should have taken a leaf out of Criterion’s book.
Anyhow, thanks for making this game and the support, I’ll be seemingly playing this game forever.
Oh, one more thing. I haven’t suffered from the scoring glitch, but with the new update, I’ve noticed many people have very strange looking scores on their scorecards. -64 on a 18h. -36 on 9 holes at Crown Links. Not possible. They were quite annoyed with it too as there’s no way to beat that.

i have the game and now i have the scoring glitch of -35 on oceania LT 9 out.
now i have emailed clap hanz along with many other G0 players, we have no reply as they only seem interested in the JP version of the game.
so may i ask you CHRIS HINOJOSA, you are quick to show us new things, advertise characters that cost us money, but why when we ask about the scoring glitch , why is nothing getting done about it??
