Today we’re announcing the expansion of our closed beta test for PlayStation Home to begin at the end of the month.
Later today, the PLAYSTATION Store will be updated with a PlayStation Home theme. By downloading the theme, users are submitting an application to join the PlayStation Home Beta test community. We will be using a variety of criteria including activity on the PLAYSTATION Network to determine eligibility for the Beta community. Existing beta testers have automatically qualified to be part of the expanded beta.
We’re really excited about this milestone and want our most loyal fans to be a part of the evolution of PlayStation Home.
In Europe, SCEE is also beginning their expanded closed beta, directly targeting consumers who have been most active on PLAYSTATION Network and PLAYSTATION Store. SCEE will be in email contact with their PSN audience very shortly.

ok i downloded this at like 4:00pm so when do i know if i am in
ill add im in canada because it seems the us store seems to be fine so it might just be a canadian store problem

Finally, ‘Home’ beta opens up :-) You can see from the number of posts that ALOT of people are excited. 2008 is the year of SONY. BTW, is it just me or are alot of people selling off their wii’s/xbox for a ps3 :-)…ooops, got off track.

First off, I’d like to say that I hope I am selected. I have been hyped up for HOME since it was announced, over a year ago. Anyways, I don’t know if this has been asked before (I just scroll down until I see red in the comments part), but anyways, I have three questions.
1. When will we know if we get in to the Beta?
2. How will we know if we get in to the Beta?
3. What other criterias will you guys be using to decide who gets into the HOME Beta?
Sorry for the double post, but I was also wondering. How long will the Beta go on for? (I know you are probably not able/allowed to answer all these questions, which I totally understand.

After downloading and applying it I very much like the icon style and especially the notification style, it is a lot better that the plain default one.
As for the closed beta I never get into or get stuff so I severely doubt that I will get, but the open beta will come soon enough.
i think someone asked this already but what”s the max amount of people that are being accepted into the home beta?
Hey thanks for a chance to get into the Home beta, I’ve always wondered how much it has evolved since it was first introduced. By the way, I found it interesting that PlayStation.Blog isn’t linked to the other PlayStation websites (ie. PlayStation Network and Game Advisory Panel), but then again it is probably because PlayStation.Blog was created via WordPress.

I dont own a ps3, but the concept of home has fascinated me for some time now.
I only wish it comes out for the psp. I mean, they said there would be integration, and even some sony phones have the home thingy.

How exactly are you entered into this contest? By just downloading the theme? Nothing else has to be done to be entered? I’m just being cautious because I don’t want to be excluded from this because I didn’t do something I needed to do to be entered into this contest. A response from Mr. Jack Buser would be greatly appreciated!:)

I have been on my ps3 ever since the first day, im gonna be so disapointed if i dont get in this beta. When i was gonna get my ps3 i got shoot 4 times with a bbgun, metalic ammom. It hurt so much, but it was worth it.

Cool…so if i understood correctley, u could see wut we are doing on the psn and this could determine if we get the beta or not? and another question… does it go by the first 10,000 people tho download it first get in the beta, or is it a random drawing?

I placed my LBP pre-order and now this! It finally seems like the two things I’ve been waiting for is almost here!!
And, the theme actually looks good, too! I half expected something more….. ad like – the blueprints look sharp..

This is looking nice, so useful and dynamic, so bad i don’t own a PS3 and can’t afford it to see and be able to experience this new features and the up coming ones. But i hope that many people can be able to experience this, but i guess many want to know how much space would this take and of course they might be waiting for what they can do with it and features, if it comes with features.
