Today we’re announcing the expansion of our closed beta test for PlayStation Home to begin at the end of the month.
Later today, the PLAYSTATION Store will be updated with a PlayStation Home theme. By downloading the theme, users are submitting an application to join the PlayStation Home Beta test community. We will be using a variety of criteria including activity on the PLAYSTATION Network to determine eligibility for the Beta community. Existing beta testers have automatically qualified to be part of the expanded beta.
We’re really excited about this milestone and want our most loyal fans to be a part of the evolution of PlayStation Home.
In Europe, SCEE is also beginning their expanded closed beta, directly targeting consumers who have been most active on PLAYSTATION Network and PLAYSTATION Store. SCEE will be in email contact with their PSN audience very shortly.

So, if we already downloaded the Japanese theme with our Japanese account does this have any effect on us getting into the U.S. beta?
PS Home theme is now up for Canada. Will Canada be included in the US Home beta or is it just limited to US/European residents?
I wonder what the other Criteria’s are. Really do hope I get into the Beta.

Well, I am always on my Ps3 at least once a day, and i downloaded enough content on it and participate in the forum. I am just so happy, that Home beta is about to bring a bunch of new people in this is awesine abd exciting, especially for a ps3 owner lol
AHHH!!!! I am so excited for the new theme and Beta. This with the right direction could be one of the major defining moments in video gaming (more like living lol) history, Home I think will be give a new spectrum to view gaming systems for what it will do for the end consumer. You can be sure this will sway more consumers to purchase a Playstation.

Excellent news. If I’m not working, I’m generally on the PlayStation. In fact I just got my first platinum trophy in Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, and I look forward to displaying it proudly in HOME.
man i have been looking foward to home from the day i bought a ps3 and reading every form on it and watching every video and this by far is the best news EVER!!!
Ok I have a huge problem. Im away on business travel in China until the 14th. Theres no way for me to get access to my PS3 and it would be a little difficult for me to explain to my wife how to download the theme for me.
Is it possible to download it from the PC store instead and still be eligible, even though the one there is for the PSP?
My friend got in the previous Beta a few months ago and since then I have had my default page set to the Home site to see when they would let more in. I will download this theme once I get home from work. Fingers Crossed I get in.
Finally, ive been waiting for this beta forrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr everrrrrrrr. Any idea when we might receive the notice that were in (hope im in), I dont want to have to check every day.
