FUNKTASTIC FUN – Elefunk coming to PSN

204 0

Hi everyone. I’m excited to tell you that Elefunk will be available for download on PSN later today.

I wanted to share the official trailer we produced so you can get a glimpse of all the fun you can have with this addictive Elefunky adventure.

Get ready to build! If you like puzzle games, you’ll love Elefunk. In Elefunk, your task is to lead elephants across four continents and various treacherous levels of ravines, rivers, fire pits and swamps by building bridges and structures capable of supporting them. This game uses real world physics – you must carefully select the proper materials to build a solid structure that is able to hold crossing elephants over these outrageous terrains and precarious situations. Play in three game modes, including Puzzle, where you must build with a limited amount of materials;Time Attack, where you race against the clock; and Multiplayer ‘Deconstruction’ mode, where you have to carefully remove pieces without causing the structure to fall.

Check out the Elefunk demo later today on PSN, and pick up the full game for just $4.99. I’ll see you on the Leaderboards!

  • game keeps locking up on me on the 3rd stage, getting a bit annoying, haven’t had a game lock up on me since army of two, really don’t want to have problems with my 60 gig ps3.

  • I bought it. There’s no trophies.

    Game’s pretty funking awesome though.

  • anyone else have 60 gig having freezing issues, seems like occasionally when the balloon pops he keeps blowing my ps3 freezes.. so very annoying.

  • 7.99 € does equal $12.67 US. Sure it was mentioned but just in case #61 “don’t give me that cr*p” didn’t happen to get it right.
Anyway, bought the game right off the bat, thought the 25 full stages and 30 total was a bit slim, but I’m at stage three and already suffering.
You guys are sadistic, good job. This reminds me of PJ Monsters, where you expect it to be all cute and easy, meanwhile it’s cute and uncompromisingly difficult. The money was well spent, and I wanted to say thanks for this lil killer.

  • Just read the comments above me and I haven’t had any lock up issues on the 60 gig (original) ps3 on the 3rd stage, sorry to hear that.

  • Wow. I was expecting a “because they are awesome!!1!!” response, but put that way I see what you mean.

    Well played good sir.

  • Will it have trophies? I think it must because why would you guys release a firmware update that supports trohies but not have your newest PSN title support them? that wouldnt make sense

  • Even though this game is pretty much just Armadillo Run with HD graphics and Elephants.
It’s still totally worth $5 USD

  • signed off PSN will see if i still have locking up issues

  • ELEfunk is awesome loll for 5$ its a must buy seriously

I played online with the “jenga style” mode, its so funny loll you never know if they will fall loll

  • regardless of trophy support or not I am buying this. its only 5 freakin dollars.

all devs should follow suit though. your PSN games better contain trophy support on launch day or your sales will be threatened by the newly obsessive trophy seekers. just read all the people above me who won’t be buying this game just because it doesn’t have a trophy system. well too bad for them as i will enjoi saving some elephants.

    peace,
    Lh

  • game is freaking hard.

  • I’ve been waiting for this game since last year’s E3. Woot.

  • anyone have any tips for the 3rd level?

  • no mic support… this would’ve been sick with it

  • 4th freeze, was signed out of the psn network this time, dang, either core has gone bad, it’s got a bug, or my hd is gone, anyone else having freezing probs?

  • @165 hint use the [] girders above ;)

  • WHAT THE HELL!!!

Its $5 on the American store, but £5 on the UK store!?! Why do we have to pay twice as much FOR THE EXACT SAME CONTENT?!?!

And I’ve heard countries with Euro’s has to pay EVEN more. 2.5X than what someone else is paying? OMG What a SCAM!

Plus no trophies? Wow is all I can say, wow…

  • Demo was fun. But it would be more fun seeing I purchased the Full Game key and it won’t unlock it. deleted and dowloaded again and still remains locked.

  • would be nice, beat level 3, frooze on level 4 this time, i give up, seems to been when the elefunk is blowing a balloon, not sure if that describes why this maybe dieing, but would be nice if someone could give me an email to contact mr miller or his team about this.

  • saintfighteraqua

If it gets trophies, I’m going to buy it…but I may buy it anyways.
I wish it had two player modes though.

    Thanks for another original game!

Any more news on trophies for Pixel Junk Monsters, MGS4 and the rest?

  • excuse me? but does this game support trophies??? I MEAN god sony….dont you guys realize..that I would buy ANY game as long as it has trohpies?? ANY GAME!! and I know this is true for most of your fans as well….just say that magical word….TROPHY!!! and I will buy it otherwise it better be one show stoppingly good game for me to buy it…

  • $4.99? I paid almost $12 for it. SCEE keeps bringing the love.

    Wait, I mean burn.

  • Unfortunately, many games such as Elefunk were already well into development by the time the 2.4 Developer Kit came around to allow trophy support, and deadlines would not have been met should they have gone back and readded trophies.

That is the common excuse for games without trophy support (PSN and Blu-Ray) that will be released in the next and last month or so.

  • Wow, Sony really did give birth to trophy whores. I’m glad to see creativity hitting the PSN. Every single PSN game shown at E3 has my money already. They all look great, especially Crash Commando. That one reminds me of Joust.

  • I’ve been playing all night. I don’t find the puzzles too hard like a lot of people do. You just have to think outside of the box a bit on some of the levels. Anyway, great game! I don’t care if it supports trophies or not, at $5 this game is a must buy if you like puzzle games. Online mode is great, hopefully more people will be playing soon.

  • Friends, stop the complaining about the trophies already. You have an amazing game for only 5 bucks, what more do you want? You have a world wide online ranking list, compete to that, like I’m doing.

  • Someone asked about remote play, I’ve just tested it out. The game doesn’t work with remote play.

  • @Onna

Why should I not complain? I have to pay the doubled price of 7.99€(>$10) in Germany and I am not willing to accept games not having trophies.

  • elefunk is far from an amazing game….I played the demo…its alright…without trophies though I have absolutely no desire to own this game….even for 5 bucks…

see right there u lost my bussiness because of lack of trophies….its all I care about in psn games…u guys could have added half the amount u put in SSDHD.

why the hell do you guys even bother creating trophies in the first place?? If games that YOU guys make are just released and dont even support them…thats re-tarded.

  • @181

Its likely because of the developer firmware at the time of the game’s development. They only got 2.40 as of recently so only games that were announced recently are most likely to have trophies in their games. Elefunk had been in development for a while so they probably got 2.40 when the game was in the final stages of development.

I would like to see trophy support for this game. I didn’t like my first impressions when I saw trailers but when I got the demo I played the levels and then bought the game. I think it has a great gameplay element and it really gets you thinking how to do it properly. I’ve messed up loads of times but I still enjoy it as I am learning how the game’s physics works.

Thanks for releasing it on PSN, its a fantastic game and I hope you suggest releasing trophy support!

  • You foreign guys don’t get it, this conversion only means something when trading money or goods accross borders, otherwise your goods prices are based on your local economy.

Why don’t you go complain that you pay 3.99 in pounds for a gallon of milk or loaf of bread just like we pay in the US. Is that a rip off too? Maybe you should complain that people in Thailand can get a steak dinner for $5 bucks US.

These price scales are built over many years, not in the short time the US dollar has lost value. Stop complaining, or come to the US then, you won’t make as much money as you do now in your country.

Back on topic, the game is awesome and well worth the $5. Even if there is no trophy support, it’s easily worth the money.

  • Does it support remote play on PSP?

  • @Wakester, check 4 posts back…

  • Oops 5 :-D

  • Pretty fun game. I have a mini-review on my blog. This would be even cooler with trophies and in-game music, but its a pretty fun little puzzle game.

  • @180

stop complaining about it on the SCEA blog, they can’t help you

  • @Coramoor 188
Don’t you think the people read blogs like this one? If many people show they want trophy support they will have to carry of this.

  • I’m going to have to try out the demo when I get home. Rough luck on all these whiners about the trophies. It’s like I said before: they’ll always find something to complain about.

    Thanks. :D

  • I am going to hold out. Trophies would be the deciding factor. If devs tell us Trophies will come with a patch, then count me in…

  • Played the Demo. Fairly fun. Alot like Lemmings … except with Elephants. Pretty neat.

  • Ok so i got the game and it’s awesome. . . the bonus target ramp thing is so funny .. but this game is so hard. . LOL I suck

  • Glad I’m a civil engineer :)
Jeff, any idea what modulus of elasticity the developers were using for various materials in this game? :-P (this is a very pressing matter, even more so than trophies lol)

Keep fun games like this one coming!

  • Looks interesting, but the price seems like the best part.

  • UDFlyer20, I was just thinking that this would be a game that civil engineers would enjoy. They’d also enjoy breezing right through it faster than the rest of us, I imagine.

$4.99 US is a good price for me. What, that’s like 1 less gallon of gas in my car. :)

  • The idea that the extortionate prices the Europeans and British get charged for computer games and music are proportional to the living costs is just wrong.

It’s price-fixing. The cost of living is not twice as much over here. Yes, it’s more, but you cannot use that as a justification for any and all price increases between regions.

For example, Rock Band doesn’t do well in the UK mainly because the price difference proportionally to a normal game is so much greater than the US. On top of that the RRP of a normal game is far higher to average income than the US. So it’s been in chart position 16 instead of 1. If it’s just called economics, its economics which stops people buying games and led to developers thinking people in Europe weren’t interested in RPGs for years. It was actually because unless the RPG was a AAA title they couldn’t affotrd it.

  • just purchased the game for my 60GB PS3 ( upgraded to 320GB HD). it’s a bit slow getting started due to some mandatory screens that you have to read – but once it gets started, i haven’t seen any issues thus far. granted, i’m only on the 3rd puzzle, but that’s the one that someone had some problems with it freezing.

some have also said that they experienced problems purchasing it from PSN store but for me, i went to the store via the game to purchase. after purchasing, it downloaded a 100mb file and installed it – and unlocked the full game.

so i haven’t had any issues with the game – love the price and the concept of the game.

    thanks.

  • no Reason at all for the 5$ -> 7.5 Euro! price. Except the hope that european people live with internet (to buy Games) but don’t use it too much, to know for example that they pay completely overpriced stuff..

thanks, nice done for the market that followed sony the most in this generation!!

Pathetic.. Will play a litle more on my xbox360… First the WII (a gamecube with a toymote), now PSN games more than twice the price…

And please, stop with blablaba comparing USA and Europe, (do you want pitty from us ????? Seriously ? unbelievable. would you that we speak about 1 or 2 reasons you’re loosing billions $$ per hours ?? really necessary ??)..

    Peace

  • I bought using my US account so I really don’t care.

£2 something!! Oh yeah! I can’t wait for Bionic Commando and 1942!

Go Go Bionic! Go Go Bionic!

  • I loved the demo! The music made me smile! I would buy the game, but I can’t purchase anything from the Playstation Store until the Playstation Network Cards come out in the U.S.! Otherwise, I would be proud to own another great new puzzle game!
