Hi, everyone. As many of you know, we released PS3 firmware update v2.40 last week, but had to take it offline temporarily because, for a limited number of users, the XMB wouldn’t display after the update was installed. We’ve been able to fix the problem, and I’m happy to report that firmware update v2.41 will be released shortly.
We want to extend our apologies to the PlayStation community for any inconvenience. Now we’ll be looking forward to seeing everyone online and racking up those trophies!

Warhawk is hard man. There are so many great players. I feel like a little fool trying to play that game. I get killed every 10 seconds or so. My kill-death ratio is like .4 or something like that.

I have LED equipment and it plays any digital content in the correct format– it does not care if it comes from a PS3 or not. Most LED equipment can interface with a DVD drive and anything with composite outputs (including a PC with video/audio out, including a cable TV box). Find out from the LED vendor what will interface with it. Or just reformat your ps3 harddrive and reload your content.

no performance issues. if anything it got a little quieter… my thermometer reads the same temp though..
also to who ever likes music programs… 90% of them come with a manual… if you can read it then your good, it’s multi-tasking that i was referring to, nothing else. simply stating i was busy with alot rather then my eyes glued to a forum page.
back on the ps3, i have noticed the 3 lockups while loading the page i linked before, and trying to listen to music while visiting it.
just turning my system back on from its small daily break and gonna see if she locks up again…
the three times were after goin to a page where you have minor load time i pressed the “PS” button and it would lock up… thats it.
simple restart fixed it, but was a full lock up.
i used that previously linked page due to its huge load time. i have fios fiber optic internet so it runs fairly fast. hard to find a site that doesn’t load so quickly
I guess I’m dumb, where is the link for the PC download. I see it on http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/About/SystemUpdate and it says v2.36 on the page and then if I click on “Update using a PC »” and then there is a link for me to do the download but it does not seam like this is 2.41, help???

I updated my system to Firmware 2.41 and now my controller is not properly responding, software updates still dont work, browser freezes, signing in to post blogs and customer support issues freeze up my system, my wireless component is not working properly. Im stuck here, so If anyone can please report or post my problems on the Playstation Blog site about the new Firmware 2.41, I would Highly Apreciate it. Once again, I dident have ANY problems until this Fix patch 2.41. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks

2.41 works fine as well, but still getting very unstable

wat other games have trophies as ofnow? i only know of 1 and i dont own it so could you post a list of games that curently have trophy support?

Man I wish these updates didn’t take soo long… I’m sitting here praying that there’s no power outtage while my PS3 slowly installs 2.41. You’d think there would be a backup of the last firmware installed should this new installation fail. Just have the PS3 keep a copy of the last firmware on the HDD until the update is completed…
Will we be able to play older games of the ps3 and be able to pull up music or message people at the same time as the game is still playing?

I just downloaded 2.41 and now I can no longer use any game that was made for the PS2, also my controllers were acting kinda funky… I was unable to get 2.40 that was put up for a short time the other day so I cannot compare the 2 versions.

So the PS2 game issue wasn’t fixed and I’ve been playing BFBC and R6V2 with a headset that fails every few matches.
does anybody know how to get trophies yet or has the vid explaining ot come out?

you can stop the firmware mid-download, just not mid-install and the install takes nearly no time at all

so far one game supports trophies and PAIN will soon, so by playing S(uper)S(tardust)HD is the only way as of right now july 8, 5:10PM

ive been having the same problems as well..it made my network so much unstable..and i keep getting errors all the time, when outised the update everything worked fine

I’m having a problem with the 2.41 upgrade. The 2.4 upgrade caused no problems on my system. Yesterday, I downloaded the 2.41 upgrade. Since then, I have had problems playing my PS3 disk-based games and Blu-Ray movies (although non-Blu-Ray disks seem to play just fine). The symptom is that the game or movie just hangs up and won’t play. I’ve tried this with 2 brand new movies and one brand new PS3 game (both bought yesterday), so I’m sure it’s not the discs themeselves. I talked to customer support (by phone) and they know nothing about it yet. I’m already seeing other people who have posted their similar problems on the Internet today with the 2.41 upgrade. Has this problem been offically identified by Sony yet? Is there some way to roll back this upgrade? I pretty much have an expensive brick here now…
