A week from today, I’ll be heading down to LA for E3 2008. I wanted to run some of the coverage plans by you, and see what you’d like to see on the blog during the week of July 14.
Next week we’ll ramp up to the Expo by sharing interviews with producers and developers of the games you’ll be seeing at E3. I asked you to tell me what you wanted to know, and that’s exactly what happened. One interview a day through the kickoff of the conference.
Once we get going, I’ll be live-blogging our press conference for those who won’t be able to watch streaming coverage (things kick off at 11.30am Pacific Tuesday, so I’d imagine those of you in the work world will be busy with that). Throughout the rest of the conference I’ll be doing my best to answer your questions and follow your coverage requests. I’ll ask for those suggestions next week.
Also, I’d like to know: who’s going to be in LA that week? I’d like to meet up with readers, fanboys, fellow bloggers, and any other interested party a few hours after our press conference. Interested? We’ll come up with something fun and free. Let me know in the comments.

Does anybody knows if Gran Turismo Prologue will get the Trophy treatment?
Ghostm….I don’t think anyone knows about that game yet, but SixthAxis.com is posting games that will have and will not have that support as they find out.

bad News:Fatal Inertia hits PSN next week( July 15)with no trophies suport.
Koei comment:”The addition of trophies to PS3 games was just too late for the development team to have time to include them before it was finished.”

@150, actually Fatal Inertia was out about 2 wks ago…I have the full game and have played it and yes you’re right there aren’t trophies.
But they may be coming soon, who knows.
It’s a great game by the way.

What im saying is that games that have already be shiped ,when they were developed they didnt have the API’s or technical requirments for the custom music.
From now on , games CAN be developed having Custom Music in mind.

I got the patch at the same time as 2.40 and I must say it’s impressive.
Heard 2.41 is coming mid week from other bloggers…so Sony is working on it…

Will the press conference be available on the Playstation Store, just like how the 2007 press conference was available? Because that’d be cool!
I have a feeling that right after this years E3, the Playstation 3 will gain much needed momentum, and I know that from the moment E3 ends, to the moment the next E3 arrives the Playstation 3 will be most amazing system ever to grace planet earth! :)

I hope those “other bloggers” are correct. Its really a shame that Sony has decided to remain completely silent and provide ZERO information or status on their progress with whatever undisclosed problem(s) 2.40 was causing for some undisclosed number of users.
Either Sony somehow delieves that all this cloak and dagger secrecy really necessary, or they really just don’t give a damn.
Before all the Sony-defenders jump on me: I’m not demanding the 2.40 fix immediately (I realize there may be significant effort involved in the fix) nor am I blaming Sony for not catching these bugs before releasing 2.40. I’m simply asking for the common courtesy of a status update as -promised- in the original blog posting about the 2.40 recall.
Is it really that difficult to write a 2 sentence blog update? It’s been several days since 2.40 was pulled.
@ratchet1013 I read on another blog that they plan around Wed to have 2.41 out…so I’m pretty sure they’re hard at work now.
They told us on the 2.40 blog they’re working diligently on it…so I’m taking that as their word for now.
@170 – Sony soesn’t owe you any explanation for anything. They also don’t have to give us an update on what’s going on. The truth is, they may not have figured it out yet. As far as this so called 2.41, until Sony confirms it, don’t believe it.
People need to calm down, if you got 2.4 great, if you don’t be paitent. I’d rather my 600$ machine not get screwed up by firmware than have a buggy In-Game XMB.

But I know Sony has stated to look at several different blogs for news…so they are giving us a little news now….until it’s official…anything can be a rumour though.
Man it would be nice to have a patch for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for ing-game music. “hint, hint”

“CVG has contacted Sony Customer Support to find out exactly what is going on with 2.40. It’s all been very quiet since the firmware got pulled off the servers, but apparently a fixed version will be available “midweek.” Sony has yet to officially confirm that this is the case but, if true, they should do so within the next day or two. Hopefully 2.41 will fix any of the issues that were present in 2.40. We’ve had absolutely no problems so far, what about you? Let us know in our latest Poll Police post.”
Right off the bat, don’t forget the shots of the Booth Babes at E3, if any are hanging around.
Secondly I’d like you to see what kinds of new integration with the ps3 the psp will have. Ask John Koller about that one. I’d like to see the ability to transmit the PS3’s game image (any game and every game) to the psp through the PS3’s LAN. So that I can still play my games, if mother nature calls or TV is in use, while at the same time using my Dual Shock3. That is what I thought remote play was going to be like. How about a rear view mirror in a few games. Got Patch?
Also find out from Media Molecule how they plan incorporate an 18+ genre to LBP(if it’s still being planned). That will be an interesting Read.
Hit up RockStar (Dan Houser) to find out when the PS3 GTA IV DLC is coming out.We want Parachutes fore Base Jumping, Tanks, Stunt Planes, Jetpacks, and Jets. Also Where and why the heck isn’t the DODO in the game. Sorry but we all miss the Dodo. Don’t we?
Another thing, You MUST confirm for me that Incognito are indeed thinking about a JET-PACK for WarHawk’s 1.5 update. Please Jeff I need to know.

This is extremely unprofessional. Two sentences saying “we’re still working on it” or “it’ll be ready soon” would be more than enough. Break the silence Sony! Everyone knows you screwed up. Just tell us what’s going on and stop hiding underneath the covers.

I really hope they have alot of Final Fantasy coverage and God of War coverage. There hasnt been much talk about Final Fantasy and its one of the building blocks of the playstation. Also hopeing for a lil surprise like i dunno a little Kingdom Hearts 3 maybe?!
That is great and all, but how about a real blog update. You know, that little issue you are having with the 2.40 firmware for the PS3? Kind of a big deal.

At E3, could you ask someone at Sony why third parties are not fully supporting the PS3? Specially regarding Japanese support, as it seems that the 360 is getting much better support. Not only that, smaller games tend to be ignored by Sony, such as Dark Mist.
Also, it’s very annoying to see that Battle Fantasia is gonna be relased only on 360 here in the US.

yea i’d like it if you talk to some of the producers and developers about a new rpg that is based and goes along with the finalfantasy series and connect and works like ffXII, but is new and exciting and real to the reality and true to the fantasy with a role of love like the others but the main story of a man fighting for the future of the world and for the his love…..maybe make the battle scenes like real life fighting but fantasized and everything you do reflects what happens next example if a dude kicked at you you can do anything back at the same time its happening and you should be able to use your surroundings like the movie finalfantasyVII advent children, pitch that idea your bound to make an exciting meeting and interesting conversation.
Bring Battle Fantasia too the US! I imported just in case, but I would like to enjoy and understand the story as well.
Also, we need that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix beta…and release date.
